  • Anthony Richardson came into the league as a raw prospect with a ceiling as high as the sky. But his rookie year was cut short after just 4 starts. Still, the Colts seem content to run it back with him and the rest of the team, trusting he'll be the answer at the position. In this video, we dive into why the franchise believes Richardson is their guy.

    Colts retained 100% of their starting 22. That is pretty crazy, and if we can stay (relatively) healthy, I think we can be good.

    I think those injuries were a blessing in disguise. People and teams consistently undervalue that redshirt year holding a clipboard, acclimating to the NFL, understanding the technical differences between the NFL and college concepts, etc. ARich basically got that now and he didn't have much college experience overall so I think its wheels up from here. He just needs to protect his body more from guys getting full weight hits on him.

    I think that there's a better than fair chance the Colts will come to regret drafting Richardson at #4. (especially with Stroud having been within reach & with Levis on the board)
    He's an uber athletic quarterback with serious passing woes that realies on his legs to bail him out and make plays, But can't say healthy when he get hit.
    That's a real problem.
    Look at his sophomore year at Florida-riddled with injury.
    Last year AR was knocked out of 75% of the games he played due to injury
    Despite having one of the higher average depth of targets in the league he was ranked 22nd the league for average depth of completion because his passing game sucks
    I've been a Colts fan for 40 years this year.
    AR is emblematic of the mistakes that Ballard has made.
    It's the kind of decision that has prevented the Colts from winning the weak AFC South for a decade.
    It a shame too. AR seems to be a great kid.
    I wish, for his sake, that he had stayed in college for a couple more years to work out the wrinkles in his game before entering the draft.

      Okay, first off they wont regret drafting him. Secondly you’re smoking something special if you think they could trade up to two WITH A DIVISION RIVAL WHO NEEDED A QB. You clearly never watched any of the games this year with Richardson. He showed he was worth the pick. I’d say ahead of schedule and I was expecting year one to be a complete learning year. Good decision making and quick release. His instinct is to throw. He’s got all the skills needed it’s just cleaning up a few mechanics.

    I hope he doesn't tuck it in anymore. He's got the RB room for that. After that scary shoulder injury, we want him to last 17 game seasons for the rest of his career. I'd rather he scramble looking to throw down field or slide.

    • @forsythe3963
      @forsythe3963 Месяц назад +1

      Agree. He’s smart man, he doesn’t repeat mistakes. He’s also young so he’s going to make them. It’s not even necessarily sliding but Lamar does a great job of finessing tackles and not trying to compete with the defender. AR has to take advantage of the QB bias of penalty. If he goes for the ground and gets rocked it’s a penalty. He’ll learn.
