      The clip where Malik says he never got any love practice reps in Tennessee even as their starter is wild. They literally never even tried to develop him and just threw him to the wolves

      Willis now 3 and 0 he's going to expose Love because I think Malik is better. He has a strong arm can evade on the run smart sliding and can simply make plays. He doesn't force the throw like Love does who owns the most INTs in the NFL. Malik has a good O-line and a very talented RB WRs which now is showing Milik as talented. See how that works Love is all hype and a weak player who will be injury prone I have been saying this for years but now GB is stuck with his contract.

    I mean Tennessee did him dirty. Even weeks when he started Willis stated he only got reps with the 2s and 3s. And he didn't get a ton of live reps in practice just mental walkthroughs. Willis career before up to this point is just as much on Tennessee IMO. They did not set him up for success.

    • @rotaryperfection
      @rotaryperfection Месяц назад +1

      Hearing Willis admit that really pissed me off. I just hated the fact that when Callihan came in, I expected him to have open QB1 competiton but he stupidly made Levis the stater day one and then they signed Rudolph as the guaranteed backup. Willis was done no matter what he did and as a fan of that franchise, that really pissed me off because all I saw was Willis IMPROVING after every pre-season game. On the field reps is all he needs to take that next step.

    Malik Willis' success shows me how good the Packers are, or at least their offence and head coach. Able to come together and perform the way they did, even if it was very simple and at times imperfect. Very well rounded and capable even without Love.

      @@Joe_the_Mole our run D was/is still hot garbage tho... tbh at this point I dont even care anymore, how many ints or sacks we get, I just wanna know if that team can finally go into a playoff game against a contender and not give up 150-200 yards on the ground 😅

    I think your final conclusion is close to where I am on Willis; as a Packers fan, do I want to see him out there? No. As a football watcher? Absolutely. Week 2 was just one game, but I think Willis could be a viable backup, slash groomable trade piece. That was Ron Wolf’s MO when Favre was under center. I’d like to get back to that concept of always having a backup QB that can really play and/or be traded for future assets. The GM being smart and shrewd enough is a huge part of that. Ted Thompson wasn’t, and I’m not convinced Gutekunst is.
    Rant over. Cheers.

    People are burying Willis after 4 games yet Sam Darnold is on his 4th second chance, Zach Wilson gets a second chance as the backup in Denver after being the worst QB in the league for 3 years... I wonder what the difference is 🤔🤔

    • @gb6710
      @gb6710 Месяц назад +31

      Both were the third and second pick overall and had a lot of money tied up into their futures. Willis was 21st pick in the third round. He only had so many chances, fair or not. Thankfully the Packers are giving him a fair chance. But I don’t think this is an instance of racism and you are race baiting.

    Titans fan here. I'm sorry, Packer fans. I cheered hard for Malik. And from what I can tell, he's a good kid and teammate. However, it is going to be a rough couple of weeks for you guys. Granted, a lot of the problem was a horrendous o-line he had to throw behind. But he still can't make the right reads and still can't throw to certain parts of the field.
    Fortunately, the Packers are playing against Mr. "Tries too hard" Levis and you'll end up with a pick six at the end of the game for the win.

    • @rotaryperfection
      @rotaryperfection Месяц назад +1

      I'm a Titans fan too. You didn't mention the lack of receivers his rookie year either. Try going back and watching that KC game highlights and look at all the drops. Willis played well enough to win that game. That was is 2nd start. Lets also not forget that we drafted the kid AS A PROJECT so you coming in here and saying he cant make certain throws in 3 starts his rookie year, just proves the point he wasn't ready when he did play. If you haven't seen the improvements in his throwing from pre-season 2023 till recently, then I'm sorry to say that your just another Titans fan who never really paid ATTENTION to his situation. He should have gotten tons of playing time last season but didn't.

    • @matthewjohnson9413
      @matthewjohnson9413 Месяц назад +1

      My friend... I am not of the opinion that he hasn't improved. I watched his preseason performance. He managed it well. I am just lowering expectations here. Being a QB is the hardest thing in sports. I am 100% sure you and I couldn't do it. He was pushed into a bad situation in Tennessee when he wasn't ready. And now he's being pushed in a better one and still not ready.
      I wish him the best, and I hope he finds his groove. Except for this week.

    • @rotaryperfection
      @rotaryperfection Месяц назад +1

      @matthewjohnson9413 Well, when you've been a fan of this franchise since 1991 like I have, you really want your drafted QB to do well. It just really rubbed me the wrong way how fast this franchise moved on from Willis after 3 starts but at the same time expects us to give Levis all the time in the world after 11? I will say this, Willis better not out play Levis this weekend in Willis 5th start on a brand new team and system. I will FOREVER question Calihan for not allowing QB 1 competition this past offseason because, IMO, Levis hasn't EARNED that job yet. He's had a full offseason with starters reps to build chemistry with these new receivers, and he's playing like crap right now. My patience is thin but I still hope he pulls through because I dont want to have to draft all over again. What's done is done. 😞
