My old coach used to say "Run it till they stop it, then run it some more. They know it's coming, we know it's coming, and we're still gonna run it anyway." We weren't very good.
Such a simple idea, yet people are so pass happy they’re too busy complaining about 2 high defense being boring for the game. Run the ball until they decide to stop the run.
This was a masterclass, especially given how many rushing yards we had both in the first quarter, and in the game overall. Knowing we have Malik Willis starting and still being able to do that was impressive. Not to mention, its pretty obvious to see why we wanted Josh Jacobs so badly, and its still a dream that we got him. He's an extremely talented back and can definitely shoulder the load of a team.
Now that's how you scheme up an offense for a backup QB. Make it as easy as possible for him to operate and open up a couple shots for him to take to keep the defense honest.
LaFleur is a great play caller and designer with many young weapons. He expose that Colts defense. It will be interesting to see if defense of Titans, Vikings, and Cardinals will do against Willis. The Rams defense has no shot.
Your breakdowns are more enjoyable than the games themselves! Keep'm coming, please. I hope Arthur Smith picks up some tips from Lafleur, and Fields will look like a re-born QB.
Yep, Colts fan, outplayed, outcoached, out everything. Zero excuses. Only question is how do we respond as a team or an organization. Personally, not optimistic.
As I see it, this game was an absolute gem for Green Bay, and the perfect storm to both test their run offense options, and also get the entire offensive side of the ball not only involved in the run, but also take time and make them intimately familiar with the inner workings of Matt's schemes. When viewed from that point, I can only see this game as a seized opportunity, and Green Bay certainly made the most of it. Granted, not all of the schemes are going to work against any defense, but now the familiarity is there, and it was made in-game, under pressure, in the moment. I'd argue that's better than any practice 11-on-11's or anything else for that matter.
I love that they ran so much from shotgun which keeps the pass game open (not that they needed it) I see Matt lafleur perfecting this game plan throughout the season
really appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into these videos boss. I really love the X's and O's of football and your analysis is immaculate. I'll be here for each video my friend.
This definitely solidifies LaFleur not kicking 3 instead of letting AR go for it on 4th because if he can't take this QB who was basically a bust and make him look like a quality starting QB he definitely made the right decision
This game was a showcase of what a great coach can do for an offense. No matter the personnel LaFleur is able to scheme up a gameplan playing to their strengths and keep the defense on their toes. As a Cowboys fan it is so fun to watch unless they are beating you 27-0 at half.
🤣 a guy on my football team back in the 80s used to puke every game. Once he barfed he ran faster and hit harder and was so much more fluid in motion we all would kinda be waiting for it every play🤣 Kinda like when a racehorse runs faster if they shit before the race🤣
LaFleur further proved he belongs as one of the top offensive scheme lords of the NFL. It is not just what he chooses to run but how he is sequencing it that matters. As well with using enough motion to hide what kind of play it could be. Which then helps set up Willis for clear easy passes to make or just him gaining some yardage with his legs. Getting results out of a limited talent that can still produce if given the right opportunities to not throw away the game.
Titans fan here (who incidentally has the Packers as my second-favorite team): Malik was always gonna be a project QB when they drafted him, but I don't think he was gonna be developed properly with a) a defensive-minded HC, b) a stale OC calling plays, c) a bottom-four (as of last season) o-line, and d) a lack of weapons. Green Bays is almost the exact opposite: one of the best offensive minds in the game, a solid o-line, and a plethora of weapons. I'd say Willis went to the best possible situation for a young QB outside of maybe KC or SF
Got to tip the cap for Lafleur here. Willis might have been the worst looking QB in the league when he was at Tennessee. Dudes in GB for 3 weeks and they got a huge win. Might not see a offensive game plan this good for a while considering the circumstances.
I am really disappointed with the Colts. They knew Willis would not pass more than 5 yards deep mostly and they knew beforehand that the Packers will mostly focus on the ground game. And yet they didn’t stop it. They conceded 150 rushing yards in the first 3 drives. Embarrassing gameplan. This game should’ve been won. Congrats to LeFleur and all that, but if the Colts had done their job, these 5 plays wouldn’t help all that much
@@dominiquerosemond5682 lol that is not even a run fit problem. Cowboys don't have the big bodies on DL to offer resistance and their LBs aren't downhill maulers either. Doesn't help if their fronts always leave them out gapped especially against the Ravens who were honest playing heavy personnel with an additional 2-4 blockers.
LeFleur always was a running coach. From seeing Derrick Henry at Tennessee, he acquired AJ Dillon with those huge thigh muscles for pounding. Aaron Rodgers was into passing and bossing LeFleur around. I am glad Rodgers is gone. Alas, Matt has turned quite prickly recently, which I do not like in his press conferences.
Misleading, running the same play doesn't mean you literally run the same exact thing. The personnel, protections, routes, blocking etc all change every call
WOW! 5 plays is all it took for me to lead my team to 5 championships. 5 CHAMPIONSHIPS!! It's all about taking what the defense gives you and to stick with the fundamentals. I got kicked out of the league because the commissioner said that I was exploiting the game and that everyone didn't feel as if it wasn't fair. ABSOLUTE B.S. After winning my 5th championship. I decided to resign and I turned off Madden. Currently, looking for a new league with better competition that will be able to stop 5 simple plays. If it's not broke don't fix it. Have a great day!

My dad, who was a high-school coach, always said, "Run it until they stop it, then exploit their adjustments". Football is Football at every level.
Bingo
This sums it up very well. I like the way he put it
My old coach used to say "Run it till they stop it, then run it some more. They know it's coming, we know it's coming, and we're still gonna run it anyway." We weren't very good.
That's how I've always played Madden/ CF 😂

LaFleur made Willis look like a genius. Glad to see his stock going back up

You’re without a doubt my favorite football RUclips channel, keep it up man
Lafluer is a good coach, as a bears fan i hate that but he has my respect
Been saying it for years. Matt Lafleur is an absolute killer.
Not really. Gus Bradley is just completely washed up and shouldn’t be in the league.
@@TacoTuesday4 Lafleur has carved up better DC's than Bradley. Stop being a hater.
Yeah, but *_FIVE_** plays?*
The Giants & Commanders don't stand a chance!
Both can be true!! As a bears fan I clowned the lafleur hire. And he’s made me eat those words every year since
It’s always been said that Vince Lombardi ran 8 plays but ran them to perfection.
LaFleur is a great play caller and designer with many young weapons. He expose that Colts defense. It will be interesting to see if defense of Titans, Vikings, and Cardinals will do against Willis. The Rams defense has no shot.
Willis isn’t probably going to play vs the titans but he has a 0 percent chance of playing the cardinals or Vikings unless Love gets hurt again
Your breakdowns are more enjoyable than the games themselves! Keep'm coming, please. I hope Arthur Smith picks up some tips from Lafleur, and Fields will look like a re-born QB.
Now that's great coaching
Mans said Willis you're gonna have a good game in spite of your every effort
Been more impressed with Willis then I've ever been with love

great video - i died laughing when you zoomed in on Josh Myers vomming on the ball 🤣🤣🤣
Simply put, another masterclass from Lafluer. Dudes a top 5 coach, without question.

You beat the Bears 👍
@@billmadison9010 ANY team on a decent day could beat the Bears right now. Not reassuring.

WHY WOULD ANYONE WASTE THEIR TIME WATCHING TV FOOTBALL SHOWS?

That is just amazing

Packers fans lucky asf having Matt
He really looked at Jorden love being hurt and said. Fuck it. Single wing time.

Please let him start for 2 more weeks after Jordan love is ready. This is the most fun I've had watching the Packers in 4 seasons
The Vikings aren't the Colts or Titans so no, absolutely not.
What’s even crazier is Arthur Smith and the Steelers are doing this every week with Justin fields at qb

GREAT VIDEO, please do more bro
Willis had a ton of growing to do to become an nfl qb coming out of Liberty. No way Mike Vabrel could do that for him, he’s in a perfect spot now

Coaching masterclass
I’m sorry are we not gonna talk about an nfl player puking on the football
That was very disgusting 😂😂😂😂
I thought Kenny Moore was a corner not a safety
Kenny plays everywhere - CB, S, Nickel
He's more a DB than any specific position imo
Football is an easy game when you make your Qb run plays he is comfortable with.
Give Willis his flowers
Be funny if this led to teams adopting a Navy or Georgia Tech offense with mobile QBs as a form of effective moneyball
There’s elements of the Flexbone in a some teams offense!
How do I watch film like this ?
"Stealing" a dub from the Titans isn't bragging material.

just like me on cfb 25
Love how our WRs can stick it to the defense either running or blocking
Was actually 6 plays but 1 was changed by Willis because of the puke ball 😂
Send this to Mike McCarthy
KISS
Execution. Football is a game of blocking and tackling. I like the sound of shoulder pad collisions.
That's cause he only needed 5 lol
My main takeaway from this video is that my team's coach, who is neither of these teams, is a bad coach.
Lefleur just solidified Coach of the year in Week 2
