  • Buddhism: No Self - Impermanence - Emptiness.
    #buddhism #noself #emptiness
If you were to ask people familiar with Buddhism to identify its two most important wisdom teachings, they’d probably say emptiness and the four noble truths. If you were to ask them further which of the two teachings was more fundamental, they might hesitate, but most of them would probably put emptiness first, on the grounds that the four noble truths deal with a mental problem, while emptiness describes the way things in general are.
It wasn’t always this way. The Buddha himself gave more importance to the four noble truths, and it’s important to understand why.

      @@EgoPodcastenglish You're very welcome! 🙂
Would it be possible for you to do a video on the Buddhist view of animals? Someone recently asked me if Buddhists believe that animals are 'looked down upon' by Buddhists because, if animals were possibly human in their past lives, their 'bad' karma lead them to become animals and if that view impacts how Buddhists treat animals.
I would appreciate if you could offer a Buddhist perspective on animals (and any other 'lower' realm rebirthed beings) and how we should view them and exercise compassion towards them.
Animal rights and compassion towards animals is very important to me and I am sure your view would be very in depth and informed.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me! I look forward to more videos 🙂

Speak the truth will hurt others.
    Telling lies will mislead others.
Don't speak, not being fair to others.
Buddha speaks the truth about life and our universe.
Phenomena are empty in nature without characteristics, nothing can be had.
As long as there is a form, it's an illusion.
During Buddha Shakyamuni's period the lifespan of people, three thousand years ago is about 100 years.
Every 100 years there is a deduction of one year.
Today the average lifespan of people is about 70.
Until it is reduce to 10 years and the new cycle starts over again.
Every 100 years it increases one year until it reaches 84000 years. One cycle of up and down is one kalpas.

Does all this knowledge bring you nearer to the truth? Quotes and theories based on the past and authority? You can quote and memorise a thousand scriptures but a mind “filled” with knowledge won’t be free…
      Have a blessed day!

False, the 4 Noble Truths is true for ALL cases of suffering. It’s a proof by recursion which literally proves it is true for all cases of suffering Khandas.
Shunyata ie emptiness, although not emphasized in Theravada, is emphasized in Mahayana. This is through Phena Sutta and Shunyata Suttas - emptiness is part of the cessation spoke of the 4 Noble Truths.
So 4 Noble Truths are not discarded, they are never deemphasized by any true teacher. Exposition of the 4 Noble Truths is the sign of a true teacher.
