    Ever get a flat on your MTB? Easy to fix and expected, but the other day I found myself trail side with a flat and no way to put air in the tire. Sure I could have run over to a gas station and aired up, but with a PRESTA VALVE your out of luck.
    Get a little adaptor and drop it in your saddle bag and never worry again. I bought mine at Amazon here's the link to the Mobi Adaptor... amzn.to/34NjIYz

    Just discovered presta valves today. Completely stupid, schrader valves are universal and everywhere. Worked fine for 100+ years. Now ya need an new adapter or a pump, freaking stupid...

    • @lazurm
      @lazurm 2 года назад +3

      2ndAmendmentGlock: Presta valves were created because Shrader valves were too wide to accommodate onto the narrower rims created for road cyclists. Shrader valves created a weaker rim. Presta valves are narrower and leave more metal on rims.
      Horses worked fine for 100+ years and now we have other methods of transportation. It's about adapting to changing conditions which, hopefully, improve on previous ideas.
      Perhaps you may want to consider the advantages of researching the reasons for change prior to emoting so intensely. Lowers the blood pressure usually.

      Agree with you. More of a bother than an improvement regardless of history of narrow rims, since fat tyre cycles and mt. Bikes with larger rims and tyres use them also ..

    You cut the cap too short.
    It works if you only cut the very end off and push a drill bit or something through so it will screw on to the valve.
    You can't check the pressure unless there's a gauge on the inflation nozzle but you can get going again, for sure!

    I saw another video sand they cut the cap but, they put the cap on upside down after they cut the cap. I don't know if it works on all presta valves but, it looked like it worked for him.
    I just got a bike with Presta valves and I was looking for how to get the gauge on my pump to read the pressure. It doesn't read the pressure until I start pumping it and I am pretty sure it's not accurate because it starts at zeo and only goes to 20 psi on the first pump when there air already in the tire.
    I had actually already bought those Presta valve adapters on Amazon and I tried to use them to get a gauge reading but, it didn't read until I pumped it even with the presta valve adapter. I did notice the valve could lock by twisting that one end but, I didn't know if that was supposed to do that until I saw your video. Thanks for showing us that we can loosen it to put air in the tire. I will try to unlock the presta valve and see if I can get a reading.
