That looked like some serious fun! I don't know anybody who has ever done that before, so it was really fun to watch. Big props to Warren and Levi. It looked like they made certain that you had a good time, and that everything was safe.
Our guides, Warren and Levi, were fantastic! They provided a great experience for us! It was so much fun out there and we're excited to try it again one day!
We took a helicopter to a glacier in Alaska in 1990. I brought back glacier water in my film canister. We used that water in 1991 to Baptist our son. Such an amazing experience to watch you today.
A helicopter ride would have been so fun to do! MICA Guides offers that and we saw it flying over several times. Maybe next time! The glacier water was delicious to drink. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for letting those of us who won’t be ice climbing in our lives to live vicariously through you. What a gift. Kathryn, you are a roll model for girls and women. I love it after I have conquered one of my fears. Heights are one of them. It is exhilarating, when I do, and I come away feeling inspired and energized. Excellent work you two. Keep it up! We are thoroughly enjoying your Adventures in Alaska.
We're so thankful we can share our experiences for others to enjoy as well! I'm biased, but Kathryn is the best in all ways and we need more people like her in this world! It is very thrilling and a great sense of accomplishment when you overcome a bit fear. Thank you for your kind comment, Kath! And thank you for watching!
Love it! We did a private ice climbing tour in Iceland. It still remains one of the best things I’ve ever done! I was surprised how different it felt from rock climbing. It worked almost entirely different muscles and it also took me a minute to get used to the fact that my whole body weight was essentially supported by only a few spikes in ice. 😅
We couldn't agree more with the feeling of your body being supported by spikes! When I (Kathryn) think about this experience vs bouldering, rock scrambling, or the Via Ferrata we did, this was 10x scarier and harder because I felt like I had less grip and control over what I was climbing on. Such an adjustment!
Very neat. Really enjoyed seeing the glacier up close and personal. Looks like you guys had fun and it was fun just watching you. Keep up the good work.
It was incredible to be able to get so close to it and really experience the different characteristics of the glacier. We're glad we could share this experience and happy our enthusiasm shows! Thanks for watching, Larry!
We did Matanuska Glacier this summer too, it was a great challenge and we are so glad we did it. This is an amazing experience. Thanks for your videos!
That looks amazing! (and hard!) I appreciate you sharing that you found it really challenging too - all too often youtubers try this type of really physically challenging thing, and appear to sail through like it's super easy for them, and maybe it is, but it's good to know that you can struggle a little bit to do something and still enjoy it. If you're interested in some Alaska history and glacier scrambling reading check out John Muir's "Travels in Alaska". Your visit to the glacier reminded me how much I enjoyed this book. His dog even joined him at times.
It was pretty tough! Especially for two people who have a fear of heights in different ways. For some reason the heights didn't bother me (Adam) this time. I tried to focus on my hands and feet instead of looking down and that helped I think. We think it's important to acknowledge when something is tough as well. We definitely struggled at times during this experience and wanted to share those struggles. I'm actually listening to a book about the Harriman Alaska Expedition and John Muir was one of the people on that expedition. The author recreates the expedition and shares history and tidbits from both journeys. It's a pretty neat listen. Thanks for sharing your recommendations. I'll take a look at those as well Thanks, Angela!
I cannot tell you how happy I get when I see you post a new video. It brings a smile to my face right away! You both are such genuine good people. The world needs more people like you. On to great adventures! 😉
Great job Kathryn and Adam! That looked like an amazing adventure! Kudos to Kathryn for trying something scary and difficult! Great job killing it Adam!
That is so cool and drinking ice cold fresh water is just wow. I think this is one of the best adventure you've done that I have seen so far. I bet it was fun . Be safe and see you both on the next video ✌
Hats off guys!!! This is the first time I see anybody doing ice climbing! What a unique experience! And bravo!! to you two for doing it. Just beautiful!!!❤️
Wow, what a beautiful adventure! There was so much to appreciate about this aspect of your Alaska journey. We were so stoked to see you accomplish something so challenging. On a similar note, I’m usually not comfortable with heights, but was blessed to be able to hike Angels Landing a few years ago. It was especially meaningful to do that alone very early one morning, and to have the summit to myself. My wife and I are in our ‘60’s and thoroughly enjoy being able to “tag along” with you on your trips. You’ve encouraged us to make it to several of the same places you’ve been. Many thanks for that, and for all the hard work you put into your work.
We had such a great time out there and were proud of ourselves for conquering our fears. Nice job on the Angel's Landing hike. That's one we haven't done yet. We've just heard so much about the crowds on that hike that it has steered us away from it. If we could experience it without all the crowds we'd like to do that hike. We're lucky and thankful we can share our experiences with others. Thank you for watching!
P.S....I was talking to a neighbor this morning and he wants to take his RV up to Alaska. I suggested he follow your channel since you are doing this epic Alaskan trip and lo and behold, he already does. He's getting some great ideas for his trip. .
What an epic adventure! It was so fun to watch y’all experience it! Y’all were awesome! Even hubby said we’ll have to do that!! I’ll definitely have to work on some upper body strength to pull that one off!! We are really enjoying this Alaskan trip unfold!!
That was an epic adventure! Thanks for sharing it with us. I can relate to your exhilaration after you accomplished this adventure! It was how I felt going canyonneering for the first time because it included 12 rappels and I survived! Can't wait for your next video!
You went, you conquered and you survived. Pretty cool that both of you are working on conquering your fears. Not an easy thing to do. Amazing views too. We could feel your excitement. Look forward to the next video.
This was such an awesome experience! We were in really good hands with our guides and they made it possible for us to tackle our fears! 💪 thanks for watching!
WOW! You guys took it up another "notch", climbing that glacier! Still catching up with your travels! You give so much information, awesome photography with such enthusiasm! So glad we found your channel!💓
Congratulations on this challenging achievement! You will be glad you took this challenge and even if you slipped you still kept going! Good for you Kathryn! And for facing your fears good for you Adam! What a lesson to use in life. Keep going, even when you fall; and sometimes the mountains we create in our minds aren't near as big once we start the climb; and help from others with knowledge and skills when tackling our mountain is always welcome! Great work!!!
Thank you so much! We totally agree! It was thrilling and exhilarating to face and coquer our fears! You're right, our minds create stories that we have to overcome as well! Thanks, Karen!
I love your guy's we will give it a try attitude. That's a true adventure of a lifetime. The glacier and water looked to be as clean and pure as it gets. Can't wait to see what's up next on your trip.
Loved this episode! The footage was incredible and it was so fun to experience the climb with you. I tried it in Iceland several years ago so it brought back great memories but I have to confess you guys looked a lot better at it than I was.
I knew you’d have some epic adventures in Alaska but watching this video was more epic than I imagined! Thanks for sharing this with us including the challenges!
That looks awesome. You both did a great job, especially since it looked so hard to do. I think we'll opt for a walk on the glacier. Our bones are much older than yours!
Hi my name is Dante this is my first time making a comment on your vlog. Very impressive to watch... it kept me on the edge of my seat. Secretly I'm afraid of heights- congratulations you're right the glacier didn't have a chance ha ha. Keylime DP in Cloverdale
This seemed absolutely incredible!!! wow, thank you for bringing us along. I never thought to put this on my bucket list but it is definitely on there now! it doesnt matter how well you do something ts that you had the courage to get out there, period! bravo!!
Woo! A new video, I had a feeling Matanuska was next after Kathryn's hint at the end of the last episode. Looking forward to see what you guys check out in Anchorage!
❤️ a couple 💑 climbing a glacier! Katherine and Adam great job 👍you guys always rise to the occasion. Those spike shoes were they hard to dislodge when trying to move upward. then kick them back in that 🧊 ice. Bet your legs and arms were Really Beat!
OK this is a really awesome one. I sat on the bench at the foot of that my friend went around and climbed on the little bit but oh my gosh it's so beautiful. Thank you for these amazing pictures and shots and for sharing this adventure. God-bless you guys and keep you good and safe but exhilarated
Another great episode! Thanks. But that's not enough. I've followed you two for some time but on the television. I started hopping on the computer after watching the episode so i could thumbs up and say another great episode. But I have to add that you two amaze me.
AMAZING! Love all your content but this might be my favorite. And so fun to see the pure excitement you had as you talked about your experience. “I can do hard things” Way to be brave!!
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, WOW!!! You guys are amazing climbing up those glaciers. I don't know if I could even think of climbing glaciers. Absolutely amazing and SPECTACULAR👍👍👍👍!
Wow, glacier slot canyons, sooo cool! You killed it; those canyon walls were high!! Last summer we were in Iceland and kayaked in a glacier lagoon and hiked on a glacier to an ice cave!! Would love to try this some day! I’m so enjoying watching your adventures!!
What an awesome adventure! Big check off on your bucket list. I was up on the Athabascan Glacier a few weeks ago and was thrilled just to be on a glacier...but to ice climb...wow! And sooo beautiful! I see a trip back to Anchorage in my future and will check out Mica.
That was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!! Man, did it look steep and straight up! I was smiling watching your excitement! Boy has my baby girl come a long way since not wanting to eat dinner on the deck because of flies when you were just a little girl! So proud of you both for accomplishing such epic things! Also, thank you Warren and Levi for guiding you! Always use a guide…it will make me less stressed! 🤣
We’ve really enjoyed all of our climbing adventures! I don’t think we’d enjoy it as much if we didn’t have guides! I don’t see us ever climbing without someone who knows what the heck they’re doing! I love her adventurous spirit!
wow that looked so cool!!! if you guys are coming through Smithers, BC on your way back to Texas, you should check out the Twin Falls/Glacier Gulch trails! lots of places around Smithers to check out too!

Not something I'd want to do, but it was great to watch you.
We're glad we could share it with you!
wow that looked so cool!!! if you guys are coming through Smithers, BC on your way back to Texas, you should check out the Twin Falls/Glacier Gulch trails! lots of places around Smithers to check out too!
We plan on passing through Smithers! Thanks for those recommendations!
