I'm an American female who lived in Iran for 10 years after the revolution during the war and with the American hostage crisis. I'm back in America now I've been back many times here on and I love the country and love the people and love the food and I use all of those expressions I love

I don’t know about you but my family and all of our Persian friends always say “cheese” in conversations. I don’t know how to explain it, but for example when they forgot what they were going to say: “aye yodam raft. Chee meekhostam begam? Aha , cheese “ and then everyone finishes their sentence 😅😅
