      Apparently that is true of wolves in north america but elsewhere attacks are somewhat common. From Wikipedia: Experts in India use the term "child lifting" to describe predatory attacks in which the animal silently enters a hut while everyone is sleeping, picks up a child, often with a silencing bite to the mouth and nose, and carries a child off by the head.[16] Such attacks typically occur in local clusters, and generally do not stop until the wolves involved are eliminated.

    Dear people,
    from what I've seen so far, he does not intend to catch any animals other than coyotes. The traps he uses have no teeth and are used to trap an animal's paw, so it is, when used correctly, harmless. And I'm not sure if he kills the coyotes but if he uses humane traps then he might just be releasing them far from where he lives.

      Xyliana well traps with teeth are not allowed in the US they are limited in size about 5 and 3/4 of an inch for land set trapping and hunting is part of conservation although the Wolves numbers may not be up enough to practice conservation efforts upon them that wolf there will now educate the other wolves and when they are a problem and when they are able to be taken as part of wildlife management which is part of conservation it'll be a lot harder

      Lucky Ducky okay look at my video 5 minutes stuck in trap also you can see what happen when my finger got stuck in a duel long spring-trap yes it hurts at first but no it doesn't actually do any damage I did have a couple of possums get stuck in my larger traps and wound up being subject to spin off this was during my later day checks I then switched over to checks in the morning the only thing left right now is muskrat and mink for trapping in my area and coyote for hunting I might try to pursue some muskrats again but for now I'll save the gas

    • @enterthehunter7336
      @enterthehunter7336 6 лет назад +11

      EasilyFallsForClickbait wow that's a little stupid and ignorant I set traps off on my hand as examples when there's no ground for them to push up through it stings a bit when it first closes but there isn't really any discomfort or pain as long as the Trap sits at rest Like the Wolf was doing before they showed up maybe I will modify some buy traps this year as well so they work well as Predator traps as most of mine are hand-me-downs

    • @mikeleikam2892
      @mikeleikam2892 6 лет назад

      ondine hd a true animal hero does what is best for a species and the surrounding eco system. Sometimes that means doing things that are distasteful to others who don't understand the reasoning behind them. Over 32,000 coyote are hunted and trapped in Nebraska alone every year. That's a small number compared to the harvest in some Canadian providences. I don't know the harvest# from Kansas , but one trapper caught over 500 yotes during the season. Trapping is the only economical way to keep furbear populations at acceptable levels. Nobody wants to go to using 1080 again. With modern traps and methods , any unintentionally caught species can be released with no harm done. Traps have to pass a humane standards testing in order to be legal to use.

    • @ondinehd6889
      @ondinehd6889 6 лет назад

      Mike Leikam: "trying to belittle people...?" Sorry, but what do you call someone who asks another person "Are you a human???" Or calls you "an ape???" (Actually I like apes a lot, and they are very smart -- enough research has been done on that topic). And what do you call someone who states that people are "above" animals? Really? What do we know about that? What we call "intelligence" has been defined by whom? What does this guy think: that the work of scientists, and humanists, such as Rachel Carson, or Jane Goodall, has gone unnoticed?? And sorry again, but someone who tells you to go "read 'your' bible, thinking that their world view is the "right" one, is provincial, and narrow-minded: it definitely has the ring of what is known as "l'Amérique profonde..." He invokes "his" bible, but leaves out the part about "Thou Shalt Not Kill...?!" Well, if that guy knows "his" bible, I know "my" spelling, and grammar! Lastly, I am 100% anti trapping (as well as anti 1080 poison)!!! You can see my previous comment about that above. A true hero does not mess with the eco system. What if another, or other species decided what was "best" for the human species, and acted upon its beliefs? If the eco system is messed up in the first place, it is because of intervention, and encroachment by an exponentially growing, and greedy, human population...but, oh, yeah, human population growth is a "taboo" topic, while humans try to "regulate" animal population by way of torture and killing, instead of spay/neuter, and giving them their space. So to answer the question "are you a human?" No, I am a "alien" from space, disguised as a beautiful coyote, who knows how to spell, and advocates on youtube for respect, and balance, for all species...! Have a good day!

    Hey that's a great video of you releasing an animal who shouldn't be in the predicament anyway. Same should be done to you, left out for a night or 2 to panic, be confused, chew your arm off or die. Then maybe the wolf or whatever animal can be "entertained' for once.

      AnarchY Ash Aubrey, at least he helped the wolf instead of kill it. The wolf will probably live a lot longer than if he had left it there like most people would, I don’t live in a place with wolves but I’d assume if someone saw a wolf they’d probably go the other way.

    • @targitausrithux2320

      AnarchY Ash Aubrey while some traps are in humane I would like to point out that there are some traps with a purpose such as catching coyotes and the such, you claim it’s wrong to leave such traps out however some of those traps have a purpose, I’ll let you think on what some of those could be

      Wolves are pretty harmless. There's only one recorded attack in which the wolf wasn't rabid, up in Alaska.
      I got stuck with a arctic wolf when I did dog rescue for Samoyeds. Beautiful animal, very nice, absolutely impossible to train, total nightmare. Wouldn't recommend owning one unless you have 200 acres, fenced in with an 8 foot wall. They do not respond to dog training, at all, at any level. Training a dog is like teaching a kid, training a wolf is like trying to teach a hermit that has absolutely no desire to be in civilization. That animal appreciated food, and maybe some attention, and that was it.

    • @dirkadirka5395
      @dirkadirka5395 6 лет назад

      Pretty harmless? WTF does that mean? They are carnivores and this guy is a fool for allowing his kids to be in that situation. Great what the guy did for sure but not involving his kids so closely.

    • @fuzzywzhe
      @fuzzywzhe 6 лет назад +21

      +Dirka dirka *"Pretty harmless? WTF does that mean?"*
      It means, wolves are not as dangerous as their reputation makes them out to be. They are capable of killing a person sure, but they don't - they very very rarely attack people.
      *"They are carnivores"*
      So are dogs = but a wolf isn't a dog.

    • @dirkadirka5395
      @dirkadirka5395 6 лет назад

      Don't tend to be dangerous, very very rarely. Dude this is about having the kids being to close too a potentially dangerous situation and which was unnecessary. I don't care if you were raised by Timber wolves as this one had been trapped/injured and oh also happens to be wild and NOT A PET. It's only about the children being involved and that's it. Sorry if you don't understand the point of the children being put in a potentially harmful situation then so be it. I did google wolf attacks and although rare as you stated they do take place. My point again was regarding the children. Great guy for helping the wolf but a foolish imbecile for endangering the kids.
