Her managers said not to, as some day she could be on it herself, so she put if off. Years later, she made it to the real thing, and as you can see by the views, really made a splash. Suisei is extremely talented. And I say this as not even a big fan of hers, just stating facts.

There a story how M-san (Marketing Division Music Production team) and Y-san (Virtual Studio Division Augmented Reality team) made this hapen. M-san has planned this for more than a year before it's release, after Suisei's first album [Still Still Stellar]managed to become a big hit during its release on September 2021. Y-san was in charge of the technical aspect. Since they have to bring the motion capture tech to another studio, they need to know what's possible and what's not possible. M-san presented the idea to TFT's higher ups at the end of 2021. And after listening to Stellar Stellar, they're interested in bringing it to fruition. M-san thought "while Vtuber appearing for the first time in TFT is a pretty eyecatching idea, I think the fact that it's a "Hoshimachi Suisei's song" also plays a veryimportant aspect in sealing the deal". Suisei herself wasn't informed at all that she might be appearing in TFT until they settled everything. According to Y-san, setting up the motion capture system is a very arduous task since TFT's studio is designed as a music recording studio, not a motion capture studio like Cover's. They also have to be careful not to ruin the acoustics aspect of the studio. It took three months to finalize the set up. The project was kept secret from the company until the day of the announcement, they're working with a small team of around 5 people. The team was formed with the hope and intention to Bring Hoshimachi Suisei to the center stage. M-san knows people will react in a lot of ways regarding Vtuber first appearing in TFT, there's a lot of prejudice regarding Vtuber, and how their talent weren't acknowledged just because they're Vtubers. They want to dispel those notions, and display the strength of Vtubers, while respecting & keeping the quality of TFT itself. The entire team believe that the power of Suisei's song can achieve that (on his business insider interview, Yagoo mentioned that he thinks the TFT video managed to dispel a lot of those prejudices about Vtubers). M-san who often worked with producers and artists from outside the company said that after that TFT video was released, a lot more people recognize Vtubers and mentioned Hoshimachi Suisei. They also received a lot of message about how great the video is. M-san wants to callenge various new things and spread Hololive through music more and more. Y-san thought that learning how to properly composite Vtuber assets with live action was a great experience. It has opened up a lot of possibilities, and he wants to tackle and experiment with various things with it.
