    Oh my, what an incredible piece of music! And you played it wonderfully Josh. If I want to learn one piece as my "show piece" (and put in the time required) would you say this is harder or easier to learn than Capricho Arabe? I also have to say that every time I hear a composition by Albeniz I am blown away. What a gift he left the world!

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  6 лет назад +2

      It sure is John. I was in love when I stumbled across it and I simply had to learn it. I would say it's significantly easier than Capricho Arabe. Albeniz is quite possibly my favourite composer. Pieces like Cordoba, Torre Bermeja are so beautiful that they almost defy description.

    really well played josh ,looks challenging , its funny coming across new music and you wonder why you never heard it before , I cant play anything by albeniz yet but of them all my favourite at the moment is capricho catalan , that piece just captivate s me so much ,just biding my time til ready to get stuck in ,I believe you have to earn the right to attempt big pieces or you will never do it justice,learned this the hard way

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  5 лет назад

      Hey there Alan. Good to hear from you as always. This piece is probably one of his easier pieces I reckon. It looks challenging here and there but of all the Albeniz pieces I've learned down through the years this is by far the easiest. You really do have to put in the hard yards to do justice to the bigger pieces. All the best with this one :)

    • @RLK94
      @RLK94 6 лет назад +1

      joshua rogers Well, to be honest there's a lot of things wrong with it. Most problems aren't worth having fixed because it's a very cheap guitar and the price of fixing everything would cost more than the guitar itself, but it was also my first guitar so I'm close to it. But I really should invest in a new one! In this case it was just the tunning pegs that needed a change, but all the music stores are in a shady part of town so I kept putting it off.

    Have you any videos on performance pressure ? Im doing grade 8 exam on sunday ,been studying hard for 3 years ,tonight I tried to play my pieces for a friend and my hands were like jelly ,made loads mistakes ,even came to complete stop once ,I m very discouraged😯

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  5 лет назад

      Hi Alan. Nice to hear from you again. Actually I don't but perhaps I should make one. How did you get on with your exam? There are many suggestions but here are a couple of really good ones:
      1. Play in front of your friend, peers, family etc as many times as you can
      2. Make sure you're well-prepared (memorise your repertoire and play your recital through from beginning to end many times without stopping
      3. Don't focus on mistakes; focus on enjoying yourself

    Hi can anyone please answer this question.
    I have never attended any music classes and I don't have any guitar teacher but I can play some slow pieces using tabs. Will I ever be able to play like a pro? Or its just impossible and I must have a professional teacher.

    • @nbnguitar
      @nbnguitar  6 лет назад +1

      You may not need a one-on-one teacher but it would benefit you if you were around great players. RUclips has changed the game though because there are many great teachers on the platform. However if you're really struggling with certain aspects a few lessons wouldn't go astray :) No matter what, all the best to you Steven.

    • @johnlind5819
      @johnlind5819 6 лет назад +4

      Steven, my advice is to practice as much as possible and try to enjoy each time you play. A few private lessons can really help, but only if you get a very good teacher. RUclips is a great resource but pick the best sites and be willing to pay for the better site. I think Josh's site NBNguitar.com is great, he is a great teacher and a very nice person. So you get great lessons and you also get to support his career trying to make a living in the challenging world of the music business.
      Good luck, and most of all have fun and be easy on yourself.
