an even more depressing album is Giles Corey, a project from the creator of the band Have a Nice Life
Black Wing, too. Giles Corey is more acoustic, Black Wing is more synthetic
I know that the reputation and intention of the album was probably intended to replicate nilhism and darkness, but I find it very comforting. A lot of the songs have calm, soothing and trance-like sounds and vocals that, even if depressed in tone, feel like they speak to the tenderness of the human soul. It feels like an understanding and expression of some of the worst the human mind can go through, sympathetic and honest. It’s great album

Please, I know everyone has their own interpretation, but don't take this album as a doomer anthem and a glorifier of nihilism, but take it as another reason to keep yourself up!! This guys made it out of the terrible mind space they were when this album was released, that's everything I need to say!!!

Nice breakdown of this album. It's easily one of my all time favorites, if not the absolute best album I've heard. When life goes to shit and seems bleaker by the day, it only resonates stronger.
that Earthmover breakdown is a mix of feelings of sadness, paranoia and despair with freedom, joy and relief

My favourite album of all time. Very few things have ever let me exercise and understand my darkest and most depressing thoughts in the same way that this masterpiece has over the years.

if youre into this type of music, another artist to look into is goodspeed you! black emperor. their music is long sorta like deathconciusness but its beautiful and has a bit less sadness lol. another album i love from hanl is "the unnatural world". its beautiful music just as much and the lyrics cut deep with how straightforward the message is

Have heard a lot about this album, was buying vinyls when I saw this one. I made the books and decided to just pick it up. Haven’t listened to it yet though, but the book amazing, can’t wait to listen to the project.

Idk. When I see so many people, especially pretentious dweebs on RateYourMusic, gushing over an album and how revolutionary and what an instant classic it is, especially albums past the year 2000, it usually turns me right off to it.
Ay, no doubt, I understand.
I still enjoy this record, but it has not lasted as great for me as many other albums I had an emotional attachment to.
This video doesn't quite represent my current views on this Deathconsciousness, but I still think it's a good watch regardless of the subject matter.
@@Zeroviles yeah, I get that, although my comment definitely applies even moreso to albums like Turn on the Bright Lights, The Boxer, and This is Happening, all of which I personally don’t get or like. With the exception of the Yeah Yeahs Yeahs, I pretty much dislike all 2000s garage rock & post-punk revival stuff.
Giles Corey is also a very interesting project by Dan, and in my opinion is even darker and more raw than this record

You know, have a nice life. Deathconsciousness, and giles Corey came into my life at the same time. The same time in my life when there truly was no reason to live anymore. No love. No life, not a fucking sliver of happiness. The same time I tried to end that hollow life. Their music saved me though. I would discover more and more of their discography and side projects. Hell I bought the Giles Corey album. It was worth every cent. And every minute and hour I spend listening to this band. Is worth it.

the first part of the video, i couldnt understand you, because of an accent my brain literally made up. i thought that was the point of the video, to make people unsettled, because for me, my brain was expecting something terrible and mind twisting when i opened this video, so i heard a mix of english and something i couldnt understand. i only heard mangled words and random words i could understand. crazy how my brain sees or i guess hears, what i am thinking about. i was expecting something terrible, so i heard stuff that was unsettling. sorry if this was difficult to understand. btw, just to make this clear, I'm talking about THIS video here. Not any songs by Deathconsciousness. Do you have an accent? all i can hear is british, but i cant place it. if you dont have any other accents, then maybe im going insane. sorry lol
