4 Gig Apps I Avoid And The Reasons Why

- In this gig worker video, I talk about 4 gig apps I avoid and the reasons why I avoid them.
This video talks about why I avoid Amazon Flex, Gopuff, Shipt as well as one other app. I avoid some of these apps due to the pay, others for the ridiculous requirements as well as one that I feel puts unnecessary liability on the driver.

The Baldwin Brothers should hire you for your resemblance, your voice, and being the orator you are.
Love the content, and I hope you'll do better than DD stuff
Off topic…I absolutely love your voice. It IS iconic. You would definitely do well in the voiceover industry. 🎙️🥰
He does have a great voice
I agree, and I believe he already does other voiceovers. And as a content creator myself, I’m jealous of his voice! 😆😉
You would be great at voice-over work.
@@thechuckdriver 😝🤪
Sad that delivery companies try to make us and the customer fight over the tipping issues rather then focus on them, that’s just how I see it anyway
Well said, Max!
They learned that from both the media, and politicians. We stand stronger if we stand united.
Flex was great before they over-saturated the market with drivers. Now, there are rarely ever any blocks offered above base pay. Food delivery is more pay/expenses efficient.
yeah and the ONLY way to get good paying blocks is by paying for a bot.
5 months and I never got anything
I also believe, at least in my area, that the rise of more DSPs popping up will put a damper or end to people doing it independently. The one I worked for has far more drivers then routes as well.
Door dash sucks for me I deleted the app not doing 2 and 3 dollars orders
For DD is just a waiting game. I'll decline 9 out of 10 orders before I see something reasonable, so I get what you're saying.
The Gopuff/ UE's orders here are just as cheap as non alcohol orders. Some people are just entitled getting their alcohol.
Eh, here in L.A. that varies depending on which UE/GoPuff you p/u from which BevMo.
The UE Gopuff show the tips though... well... up to $8. 😂😂😂
Very good video. well put together and I love the raw opinions 😂👍🏾
And his sarcasm is the best!
Good point. Subscribed.
Much appreciated!
Adore you Zach, you always make me smile.
Hey SaraSue! It's always good to hear from you! You made my day!
I don't do any of those you mentioned. I feel exactly as you do. I too won't touch alcohol orders or Uber shop and deliver orders and I'm a happier man for it.
This video and the last two now I totally 100% agree with you.. so on with Shit. I mean Shipt app
Haha I appreciate it! I've gotta pass on Shipt lol.
I've only tried Flex, and it's TERRIBLE
You're 100% correct on the exposure with those alcohol orders
Hey Robert, it's just something I'm not willing to mess with. Thanks for watching man!
Yep, the only one I ever did, the customer was clearly almost unable to stand, and on Uber you have to answer the "yes" or "no" question of if the custmer appears intoxicated...no way I could have responded "no"...and then a really long, uncomfortable conversation had to be undertaken about how I cannot deliver to her...Luckily, the customer wasnt 6'5" and really wanting his alcohol!!!@@ZachDrivesFast
I would replace flex with the jankiest of all ROADIE
Roadie is total junk
BEST THUMBNAIL… “THESE APPS SUCK” 😂😂😂
Can I just vent for a minute? I had a $5.25 order for 2 separate dash mart deliveries. It was my last order at the end of the night, and on my way home. I needed to get my AR up, so I took it. Both orders were heavy, and had 2 bags each. So it turns out both were apartments, one 2nd floor, one 4th floor-no elevator. When I was done with both of them, I realized that NEITHER OF THEM TIPPED! Man, I carried your stuff up 4 flights of stairs-and it wasn’t light! 2 flights for the other person. Had I known that 1. They did not tip and 2. They lived in apartments as I try to avoid apartments at night. I wouldn’t have taken it, but you never know until it’s too late. Sigh… just had to share. I worked 10 hours today-so that was the last thing I needed at the end of my long ass shift! Anyway, thanks for letting me vent-if anyone out there reads this and can relate. 😞❤
Good thing about my market is that it IS mostly houses, which in turn makes Flex worth doing. Orders out of C021, MAC0, and DCX2 are the cream of the crop.
That said, if I lived up in Santa Ana where there are more apartments, you better believe it would be a different story.
Hey Kenny, That's great that it's mostly houses in your market! I wish I could say the same...lol
I had to laugh so hard about your Shipt comments 😂 they are owned by Target and that’s the recruitment/interview process they use with the behavioral questions and video interview. I applied back in the height of the pandemic and didn’t make the cut either. I was somewhat surprised because all the other apps are so easy to get on. There might be a waiting period but u get on eventually. I guess I dogged a bullet, because shop and pay is not my favorite anyway 🤷♀️
We need to do merch!
Haha. I'd like to do that as a giveaway or something. Could be fun doing the designs!
America needs to adopt the New England style triple decker apartment type. Easy deliveries.
I don't like Walmart Spark sending orders that don't mention if there's ID required for Medication until your standing at their customer's door. So far I haven't had liquor, but I don't want that problem.
In my market the only time it is worth it to run 'Shit' is early morning. if you can catch a decent order not going far, that has a promo on it because there aren't a lot of shoppers out.
Once in a while their promotions are good enough to try to pursue if there's nothing going on on the other apps or possibly if I'm close enough to a location to shop and I happen to be headed in the direction of the drop off.
Few and far between it's an okay filler app.
I have a couple of preferred customers on shop for if an order pop up.
Hey Erica, good tips about Shipt! Knowing your market is key and it sounds like you're a pro at it. Hope you're doing well!
@@ZachDrivesFast Well as can be expected. :)
Out grinding the $. Finally got approved for Spark after a 8 month wait. So far it hasn't been too bad.
Sam's club and Home Depot offers are a bit ridiculous.
Full-time delivery since last July. I kissed abuse and manipulation of manufacturing work life- goodbye. Sometimes things get crazy and hairy, but this works best for me and my kids.
I had to take 3 weeks off recently. 2 mines had pneumonia (one was even hospitalized for 10 days). I didn't have to justify it with anyone. Yah, It hurts the bottom dollar but I don't have to ask anyone's permission or worry about repercussions. That's freedom.🎉
I'm exactly where I need to be, when I need to be. And that's amazing 😊
Stay cool! And hope all stays good there. Absolutely love your content!
Hey Zach! I'm not here to disagree with you or get butt hurt lol. I totally understand why flex in your market doesn't make any sense. I have been on flex for over a year and usually pick up 3 am to 6 am blocks, apartments are the absolute worst for that 🙃. I will say this though... I don't want to jinx anything here... However currently at the Amazon Toledo warehouse flex drivers are and have been the only ones delivering the "overnight delivery" orders. The DSP vans don't even go out till around 6 am. That coupled with the fact when they have a big spike in orders they put flex blocks up on the app and they get snatched up immediately allowing them to meet the delivery ETA's they gave customers. Knock on wood I hope you're wrong and we stay viable and worthwhile to Amazon. I know that can all change with one decision though so fingers crossed!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞
I'll have to show you my last 2 days of UE (I couldn't schedule DD) spoiler: $10 an hour before expenses (more than $1/mile though, so there is that)
I saw how difficult and silly Shipt was regarding questions. I told them a scary story when they asked me a certain question😂 Of course, I didn't get hired😂
I do just instacart and glad you tell people not to do it; I will not do door dash as they are the worst offender of least transparancy
I've been on Shipt since August of 23', just hit 10 deliveries. Haven't accepted anything but Promo orders and only tipped on 4 of 10 orders. Why would I hope for a tip on non promo orders when I can make more money on DD or UE? I agree complete crap 99.9% of the time.
Hey Brian, thanks for sharing your experience with Shipt. I agree, in my market it's a waste of time.
I refuse to drive for any app that allows tip baiting. Customers are bad enough on door trash without the ability to bend me over and take back the tip forcing me to deliver their order for free
I hear you my friend!
I’d rather do rideshare I know a lot of people aren’t into that but at least I can make $300 a day
I was approved for Shipt and never had to do a video. That's very weird you had to do one. I'm not sure I would've proceeded with my application if I was required to make one.
What? More Zach vids? Don't mind if I do...
You don't look like Shrek.
Hilarious video.
Hahaha! Thanks Liz, I appreciate you!
I love instacart I Dislike 💩 I mean Shipt for the same reason you do
I just can't do work and hope it pays off. I need that assurance lol.
@@ZachDrivesFast agreed
Go puff, what a joke
Amazon flex sucks these days
Agree
You don't look like shrek🤣😂
Haha thanks man
Lol. Mispronouncing Shipt was funny as he'll.
🤣😅😂 Thanks Bill!
