Yes! I have been so confused trying to understand what Judaism is and now see that I have an ideal of who Jesus was and that has clouded my ability to understand Judaism. I have been so bewildered and only hope that I can now hold onto being able to see Judaism not as the ideal of Jesus Christ. But should the settlers not be stealing Palestinian homes? Right?

The story of Adam and Eve is a parable of how we became moral beings when we figurately ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge between good and bad. Men would have been without remorse or moral consideration for any action if they had never done it. In that way, we died to our former selves and we now carry the burden of a moral conscience. Although we lose the freedom to do as we feel without regrets, we gain the knowledge to potentially become better beings. At the same time, Adam recognized his sinful nature feeling shame for disobeying God. That's probably why Jesus said no man is good, only God is. We have to keep that in mind. We are just like Adam and Eve and mess up all the time, and yet God keeps us alive to give us another chance.
