Greninja is the coolest Pokemon Ash ever owned. Love the the storyline behind it. Super cool. I was so sad that Ash had to leave Greninja in the forest to handle the evil energy roots in the ground. I also love how Ash had the chance to visit Greninja in the next season. Made me so happy.
I would say 9:05, “A Blazing Victory,” is Ash’s greatest battle because not only did he beat a powerful rival, but he also showed everyone that he has what it takes to be a Pokémon Master.
Overall battle, hands down. If we just compare Infernape vs Electivire and Pikachu vs Charizard in the Masters 8 finals, then it's the Pika vs Zard. But top 3 regardless.

Ash vs. Paul was the best of all time for so many reasons: 1. Infernape started the battle using Flare Blitz on Aggron, which means he took a great deal of recoil damage in the very beginning. 2. Nullified Drapion's Toxic Spikes, which was the smartest move of the match. 3. Defeated Ninjask. 4. Made an amazing comeback against Electivire with Blaze.
Infernape overcoming his trauma and proving his worth and newfound bond is one of, if not the greatest moments I've ever witnessed in the history of the Pokemon Anime to this day. Paul will forever be my favourite rival of Ash's. Them being such opposites worked REALLY WELL! 🔥
Damn right. That battle meant everything to us who've been there since day 1. Good to know in hindsight Gary was only his first big hurdle in his development into the World Champion.
For me the best was Paul vs Ash, it was full character development of chimchar from continuously losing to Paul Electivire all evolution to finally winning with his blaze 🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥

Since they are the literal antithesis of each other. Ash vs Alain is just carried by the animation. While Ash vs Paul didn't even need that level of animation to make people love the fight and claim it as one of the best battles in pokeani history.

No it wasn't. Not even close actually. It didn't make sense as to how a team of newly obtained Pokemon were able to go toe-to-toe with a champions team who has over a decade of experience. Not sorry and that's very unlikely. Journeys was only a thing to celebrate the 25th anniversary and it didn't actually mean anything other than appreciation.
Having been born in '95, I can honestly say Pokemon has been with me my entire life.. from watching the first episode, to playing my favorite pokemon games, to even buying the apparal.. Im 27 now and even though I dont keep up with it as I did as a child, I whole heartenly believe it will continue to be apart of my life many years to come . 💯
This brings back so many memories....I can just feel that time like yesterday, Doing all my homeworks and chores....just so I can watch the new episodes and talking about it to my friends the next day. The countless times of me crying to episodes, though i remember the first time crying to the first episode. lol even tho i have not kept up with the series the past 4 years, This series was my chilhood. Ah yes, the ultimate battle: Metapod vs Metapod. Not even Arceus could surpass this legendary duel. In all seriousness, I quite liked the simple concept on the Lycanroc battle. That last counter was just satisfying for some reason.

It wasn’t cheap, it was fully thought out and it took Ash to a whole new level as a trainer since it gave him strength beyond anything he’d ever worked with before, but at the same time also caused him a lot of trouble and pain. It also gave us the best battles (Sawyer, Alain, Team Flare), we have ever seen in the anime along with the one vs Leon, as well as Paul. However it’s really a one-time phenomenon/concept so the fact that they’ve got something similar going on with his Lucario is the cheap bit in my opinion. And if they’ve retconned Greninja in order to build up on Lucario then that is just horrible storytelling. Retconning probably the second most popular Pokemon in the whole anime. Useless idea.
The very last one blew me away!!! What competition! The two sides are locked in and fighting to their least breath! I’m on the edge of my seat! Look at the two Metapod go!!! I’m rooting for Ash in the midst of this fierce battle that’ll sure impact where the trainers go next!!
frr when i was younger i was hella upset and confused but the reason they did this was to continue the anime having ash ketchum as the main character because once he would've became champion it would just have been down hill from there. Either way I still think if they would have made ash win that battle the anime would have still been great probably better imo
Ash vs paul will always be the best for me as a character. Gary was the rival that always felt one step ahead, but Paul was the perfect foil to Ash. Every time Ash lost, he could've given up and done things Paul's way, but in the end proved his way of raising pokemon superior, even using Paul's discarded chimchar to a point Paul couldnt have even imagined.
Easily my favorite has to be his battle against Brandon and Regice. Pikachu’s volt tackle was such an amazing move to be animated in the show and it always felt so intense!
Imagine being like, the kid he went up against in the Metapod-Off and switching on the TV one day to see this kid go to town in his World Coronarion battles.
Ash has had some questionable times, especially whatever was going on in Unova. But there are still plenty of great times as well, and each of the battles here (except mayb the Metapods) was amazing.
I think the pokemon xy series's battles are the most exciting and enjoying battle in pokemon. Because in xy series the pokemon's using their attacks in best way, the transition of scene was so fast and usual as well as the counter attacks of each pokemon's are so accurate and fast that's the point which gives me the real excitement of battle and feeling the battle vibes 🔥 Besides in xy series the characters are portrayed beautifully looks like all of them have much more potentiality rather than their age as well as the storytelling runs fluently... So I really love pokemon XY series very much 😊 But the journey series 😑 There only ash vs leon battle was able to catch the attention but others all battle less good from all other seasons. Especially Kalos, alola & sinnoh spotted greatly in pokemon ❗

The Battle Frontier is so underrated. Ash battled and defeated 7 trainers in a row with teams from the all current regions at the time. All the trainers he defeated, including Brandon, were at least Elite 4 level.
you can really tell a difference in the older clips with the original music how much more intense they feel. like, ash vs kukui does not feel as intense as ash vs lt surge.

Ash vs Gary but only because we were waiting for it for sooooo long. From the earliest episodes, i was always wondering when they would finally battle. It made me crazy watching the show every day as a kid wondering when they were gonna cross paths and every time they did, i was disappointed that they never battled. We got a small tease when it was Pikachu vs Eevee one on one but that wasnt enough for me. Finally when their 6v6 match came at the Johto championships, i was not disappointed
They should have used more art when Charizard fought Blastoise. Gary vs Ash was big in the early days after Pikachu had lost to Eevee earlier in the series.

The Battle Frontier is so underrated. Ash battled and defeated 7 trainers in a row with teams from the all current regions at the time. All the trainers he defeated, including Brandon, were at least Elite 4 level.

you can really tell a difference in the older clips with the original music how much more intense they feel. like, ash vs kukui does not feel as intense as ash vs lt surge.
Blame the company that dubs the series compared to 4kids since they don't keep the original OSTs.

Ash vs Gary but only because we were waiting for it for sooooo long. From the earliest episodes, i was always wondering when they would finally battle. It made me crazy watching the show every day as a kid wondering when they were gonna cross paths and every time they did, i was disappointed that they never battled. We got a small tease when it was Pikachu vs Eevee one on one but that wasnt enough for me.
Finally when their 6v6 match came at the Johto championships, i was not disappointed
They should have used more art when Charizard fought Blastoise. Gary vs Ash was big in the early days after Pikachu had lost to Eevee earlier in the series.
