there was something just right about og parkour. confident movements. and the ladder climbing smooth animations up buildings. throw in some vaulting and speed it up like ac3 multiplayer and for me thats perfect

After playing the Ezio trilogy for a 2nd time (since I can't play the first one). Playing ACIII feels so weird, and mostly as the final game really. Like it was mostly, medieval, european and middle eastern aesthetic, that 3 feels so out of context tbh. Also, a veeery slow beginning. Really slow. But, anyway, it was good. Also, the controls, even if they are easier, I can't control it as much as I want. Like doing parkour and randomnly jump because there is no difference between R2 run, parkour and jump. Unlike the ezio trilogy in which R2 is run, but with X is parkour and jumping. Idk how to explain it.
See I found it to be the opposite. Climbing was always just mashing A in the other Ezio games. The hookblade just makes it faster & opens up lots of other new moves
the thing is, the parkour from the ezio games we're peak in terms of gameplay, maximum control and gameplay mechanics, at the expense of having animations be alittle less smooth. Where ac unity went the other way, simpler gameplay elements for the sake of smooth sexy parkour animations. I'd say ezio games peaked for gameplay, unity peaks for flow and presentation. Now if we could get the smoothness of Unity with the player controlability of the ezio games? man that would be peak. all the way. (ezio trilogy remaster done by unity team when?)
unity animations are not smooth. they look unnatural like they are in slow-mo. 0 momentum transfer between animations and unnatural paths in the air (lines instead of parabols)
"Unnatural" people jumping from great heights in haystacks and surviving is very natural, but im sure you're saying that unity is better than this because of the mocap animations.
Getting rid of the Hookblade makes sense in the lore, since it was a Turkish invention, but I do wish they kept it for future installments.

Insane how the animations from 2007-2011 look more realistic and natural. Mirage animations look so clunky and glitchy lol

What also made me love AC are not just the parkour but the music. Ezio trilogy had some of the best soundtracks out of all the ac franchise.

I’d say ac 2 and unity is were the parkour peaked I liked ac 3 but it felt a bit too automated

rogue was the same as 4, and very similar to 3
