    I have never, ever, ever witnessed construction (& so many other aspects of this Bealy complex) of this sort anywhere in my life! Watching you work during the “Can’t Stop Me Now” time-lapse segment flat wore me out. Respect is due. Awe is warranted. Wonder is complete. On & on this could go…..

    You can never have enough bracing. The view from the pond dam looks great. But it's really going to look good when the rest of the house and pool gets finished. Oh, it has been kaos at my place the last few weeks. First I got dehydrated and and wound up in the hospital with a UTI, my wife came a visited with the next day, when she left that evening she fell, in the hospital, and broke her left leg at the knee and left arm. I will probably never live that down. Prayers appreciated.

    Use a one of those big propane torches on a 20lb propane tank to take care of the weeds on the dam. Wouldn't have to worry about chemicals getting into the pond. Some farmers add a propane system to their equipment and use the fire to control weeds instead of chemicals.

      @@BealyGood You're welcome. It really doesn't take much to kill the weeds with the flames. And to be honest, it's kind of fun, lol. I've never used one of those big propane torches before, but I have used one of those tiny handheld ones you get in the hardware store and it worked well on small patches of weeds. Just think one of those big roofer torches would work the best at flame weeding.

    I had to get up to the top of an 8 foot step ladder last week to finished attaching the metal roof of a gazebo since the gazebo was right to the edge of a deck so I needed to put the ladder off the deck to reach. Man I hate ladders. Ended up tying the ladder to the deck railing so at least it couldn't fall over. Even then I couldn't reach the bolt so I got a 90 degree adapter for my impact driver.

    Most likely the experts have already mentioned this but it seems like you may want to find a way to build in a 12-in radius curve on all those 90° angles in the pool since those pool vacuum cleaners or vacuum side cleaners as they call them have issues with steps and such like ..
    Heck of a project you've got going there 👍

    I know a lot has changed since I was involved in ICF because that was 80's and 90's when it was new. Curious about how headers are handled now. In my day (can't believe I'm old enough to say that), we used something along the line of 2x2x 3/16 angle iron embedded as lintels across our openings to hold the weight of the concrete. They stayed in place after the pour, and were instrumental in keeping our sub-sill from rising up from our windows due to concrete pressure by being the other end of our vertical bracing inside our openings. We gave vertical bracing priority since weight was the most potent factor, and lateral bracing secondary because it was well, secondary.
    I'm sure I'll see soon enough, but I'm curious if you are using the likes of 2x8's and/or 2x6's and/or 2x4's to keep you bucks from bowing in on you? (Of course you can't put them in until you fill your sills 'cause concrete won't flow in from the sides. Found that out the hard way. Almost lost 1/2 a truck of concrete wanting to set up in the truck while we figured it all out. Got to have all your buck bracing cut and staged ahead of time).
    Anyway, thanks for sharing, and good luck with your pour(s).

    • @BealyGood
      @BealyGood  28 дней назад +2

      Each window and door opening gets 4 pieces of number 5 rebar across the top. 2 pieces 1.5” above the window buck and 2 pieces about 11 inches above those. They are connected with stirrups. At each end is a 90 degree bent bar. You’re correct about more bracing going in. We’ll have to have those pieces cut and waiting to put in after filling the space underneath the window. Thanks for reminding me.

    Use vinegar and salt solution for weed killer around the pond. Won't hurt the fish and won't poison the people. Seems to me that using ICF is good for outer walls but is harder for complicated structures like you have. Even if you had excellent descriptions of what is going on and I am not saying you are not good...I think that this kind of construction is subtilty complicated. For me I would need to be there in person to really see and understand all the details.

    Hello Bealy Good. I am only interested in seeing your construction work forward, and not seeing/hearing your lengthy discussions of what your contruction details are/will be! Please show me the money/actual construction work in progress and then completed! Thank you, Andrew

      I don’t think the scale of it all is conveyed well enough through RUclips

    How are you going to have an Infinity edge pool when the whole pool is it the same height ain't the water going to flow over all the walls you better think about this before you poor cement because you're about to f******That's not going to be a very good Infinity edge if the water is all the same height come on think about it this is the way it's not going to work you need one side lower the side that's going to let the water out just a few inches but you needed to be a few inches lower I built pulls my entire life and you're about to mess up buddy

      🙄 I’m well aware. Cutting both sides of the wall down to the height needed is one of about 20 items left to do before pour.
