Here’s a little ‘hack’. When a villager walks into your home, go into your storage and stay in there for about 30 seconds to a minute. Then once you exit out of your storage, the villager will wrap up and leave.
You can also just open a dresser, select change outfit, and exit, and the villager will say they're leaving. Basically you threaten to get naked and they'll leave out of shame

My favorite villager litteraly comes in and 2 seconds later he Goes back out but also gives you the option to let him stay longer.
Almost every time I pull out my phone while a villager is in my house, they almost immediately leave when I put it away 🙃
Another trick I found out is if you have multiple rooms and don’t answer the door the villager will be like “oh they’re not home” and leave.
