Happy Sunday! Which tripod do you have? I own a few but this one is the best one yet. Super complete! Comment below with yours. I would love to know! 😍
Thank you for the video Laura, it was very informative as always. I rarely use a tripod but when I do so far I have got by with the Joby Gorillapod for my SLR. It is flexible and compact however it is very limiting in terms of its features. I think that if I got myself a proper tripod I would be more inclined to do some night photography or to do more landscapes in general.
Great video thanks. One problem with hanging the bag on the hook outdoors is that the wind can catch the bag and start it swinging and acting like a pendulum. This can roick the centre column and change the centre of balance for the tripod causing it all to sway and starts move the camera slightly. A better way would be to get a tripod net which attaches to all three legs low down and put your bag on that. As the net (and therefore the nag sitting on it) is connected to all three legs it won't sway like it would hanking from a single centre point. Another way would be to lie the bag on the ground and use a cord or rope to tie the centre hook to the bag top handle. Pull the rope tight enough so that the bag is ALMOST verticaql but still sitting on the ground. Although the weight is shared between the ropoe ad the bit of the bag touching the ground, the friction between the bag and the ground will stop it from swinging.
Laura I'm so glad I ran into your videos u inspire me so much with your knowledge. I was about to give photography up until I saw you and what u say if so clear and understanding u are wonderful. I love photography I do portrait but I can't afford the lenses I need but I'm getting back to photography because of you thank you for sharing your knowledge with us..
Great Video! I was researching tripods a while ago and ended up with the version of this tripod which has 5 segments instead of the 4 segment version you have here. It folds down a bit smaller for hiking :) The only thing I don't like is the plastic insert they use for the mechanism to hold the centre column. It is fiddly to adjust the hight or reverse it. I started just folding the legs the other way round instead of reversing the column for macro shots where I need the camera close to the ground.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked the video! :) And thanks a lot for your amazing and detailed input about the tripod. So far it doesn’t bother me too much that plastic internal piece to tighten it because it’s from the inside. It did feel weird when I saw it too though. But for now it’s ok. 😄 I love its versatility! :)
This looks really good for the price. Thinking of buying but only concern is the mounting plate. Does it have a locking mechanism at all? I’m worried if the screw loosens a little bit and the plate will slide off.
Hi Laura, Thanks for your insight. The K&F has one unique trick up it's sleeve, which is the horizontal column and to my mind that is very specialized and I would bet you cannot go horizontal with your 105 lens & camera without hanging a 30 kilo sand bag on the opposite end making it specific for studio work, yet you gave examples of traveling and backpacking. When you are treking in the mountains and forests there are a couple important features that exceeds the importance of something like a horizontal column or conversion to a monopod. Those are weight and ability to deal with all weather or environment shooting conditions. I have a MeFoto Aluminum tripod that was a special edition with the leather wrapped legs. Huge waste of nearly $300 for those two reasons that it fails at. It's heavy and I cannot plant it in a stream in the mountains or in the surf at a beach. I have a Manfrotto Monopod, and used it twice, I think over 15 years. The aforementioned MeFoto I removed the leg once for a monopod with the Tamron 150-600 and will never use a monopod ever again. I have a LeoFoto Wings tripod, variation Lucifer as the Carbon Fiber and all the hardware is black. The Gabriel variation is all silver carbon fiber and hardware. This tripod can be used with or without the center column which has a fast change out between the tripod base plate or center column and I have a quick change plate to move the ball head seemlessly to either setup. It's light, can be planted in sandy, salty surf with zero problems as the leg sections are sealed against the elements. In addition all the optional features like magic arms the can mount to the leg collar to put a teathered tablet. This tripod will last and is very light and sealed against the elements. Yes, it was expensive, but I've spent more on all these other Aluminum pretenders than I did on this great carbon fiber tripod that came with a great travel case. I'm sure the K&F might be a good swiss army knife. But, like they say, I'll take the "Master" of one versus the "Rookie" of many, and honestly, I would bet that maybe 20% would need those extra features while sacrificing weight and endurance. Cheers!
Great video, that tripod is so good, I didn’t realise it had so many features. It would have been good to see you use it as a hiking stick in your last video 😂 love how versatile it is, love the fact it has a ball head so you can rotate the camera rather than having to always rotate the tripod. Thanks you for your excellent video, I needed a new tripod as well 😊
Thank you so much Ryan! And you’re totally right. I even forgot myself about the monopod feature during the hard hike in Snowdonia! 😂 The tripod is amazing, it really has all the features needed for so many photography niches! 🤩
I bought this tripod, and have only just learnt how to use all of it's features. Such as monopod. I have now order more quick release brackets as I keep forget to take the only one I have off when I have finished using it.
Thank you Laura! New content creator here about to start my channel and in need of a new tripod. I think I may purchase now, thanks to your thorough review
Hi Kei! How are you? So freaking exciting to start creating right? 😍 This tripod is my main one now for my photography work and also to record all my videos. It’s super versatile! If you go for it, enjoy it! :) And best of luck with your new channel! It’s an amazing journey! 😍📸

This is absolutely a mesmerizing find! I am impressed by you and inspired. I gotta have one but I’m not in the market right now. Maybe if I could sell the current tripod I have it would give me a boost. I think the one I have would have low resale value, however. I’m going to need to sit with this but I am honestly grateful for you and your diligence!
Wonderful video, Laura. I have had the Slik Pro 700DX tripod for 20 plus years. It suits my needs very well. Might look for a lighter tripod one of these days.
Thank you so much Robert! Wow! 20 years! I do have a Manfrotto for around 13 and I thought it was a lot. 😄 It’s still in great conditions! So nice to know that yours keeps going too! 💪🏼
You’re welcome Christopher! So many happy photographers with K&F. So far I’m happy too! :)) An average size when retracted but yeah, for a motorcycle probably better with a smaller. 😍
Great review! This tripod is really amazing for its price. I have this tripod and I love it. It feels a bit cheap compared to the Benro tripod that I also have, but K&F tripod costs half and has much more features.
Thank you so much David! Exactly as you said, prices are super good and they’re not bad at all. The rest of my tripods are Manfrotto but I love this one as my main one as it’s super versatile. I’ve never tried Benro yet but food to know that they’re also good! :) Big hug!
I don't know if I'm deaf or it just wasn't discussed, but a tripod like the one featured in the video tends to not fare as well for long exposure photography. Yes, it works well for framing assistance and taking the weight of those very large camera systems. However, that center column can put your system into positions that introduces just enough instability that a ten or fifteen plus minute exposure is not as sharp as you may have been expecting... at least as I remember learning all those years ago. If you do use a tripod like that for long exposures, I would do my best to weigh it down as much as possible to minimize the risk of any slight camera shakes. If you are wondering why that might be a thing, it comes down to that column creating enough leverage to start introducing system instability. Think of two similar pyramids, both have identical bases, but one is 50% taller. That extra height with the same base will act as leverage, allowing the taller pyramid to rock more than the shorter one.
2:11 you can use an L-bracket(arca-swiss) to maintain the center of gravity on any hardware that you can mount on a tripod specially with lenses that looks like it weights a ton, nice videos by the way
I have a tripod exactly like that except it is a different name brand. I also want the 5D iiii. That would be my dream camera, but my T60 will have to continue to fill the bill for now. Thanks for expertise!
Hi again Laura. I bought the tripod. Love it. Just a question, there is a orange turn knob round , on the other side of the butter fly knob, what is that for? I've been messing with it and not sure what it does. Thank you again for the recommendation on this tripod
Hi! 😊 I’m glad you like the tripod! I really love it for all my work now. It’s super versatile! It took me a while to figure out the same thing. :D That round knob, when lose, allows you to do panning from the head is attached to. You’ll be able to turn the whole head 360 degrees while unlocked. Let me know if you have any more questions. Have an amazing weekend and enjoy the tripod! ❤️📸
The ball head knob is on the same size as 5the camera grip? It is confusing for me because I loosen the knob with my right and hold the camera with my left hand... I'm very confused... Would you plz show us as you do it? TIA
Great review Laura 🖤 IMO this tripod is a big win for anyone who wants to get one tripod that does everything for a good price. Plus aesthetically it’s just made for Sony cameras users ;)
Hi Laura I love your videos they are very informative and unbiased just have a question do you have videos in spanish? I really like your content I think you would be successful in Latin America or Spanish speaking countries In general
Laura, the ball head can't be good for all genre of photography, myself for instance, shoot Architecture, as well as urban landscapes, in MF as well as LF so one knob lose and you loose control of a heavy camera system(and an expensive one!), so I use a 3-way head on my big sticks to handle it, one knob and I know what is about to happen, and am ready to catch the camera!
Hola! Agradezco tu review y tu tiempo
Hey laura i love your videos. I looking into this tripod. Can you make a video or tell me how you use the monopod on your photography and videography. Muchas gracias en adelanto. Alguna vez has pensado en tener un canal en espańol.
I love your videos Laura! Thank you for that one because I was looking for a tripod for me so this video is so great 😁 also I know that you recommend things that you know they are really good. So I believe you in 100%
Thank you so much Ada! I’m very picky with my gear so I always want to recommend what I think is best or affordable options that they are not bad for the value. 😊 Thanks a lot for your meaningful words! So nice to have you around here! :) Big love! ❤️📸
Not sure how I came across your channel, but I started watching a couple of days ago. Really useful content. I love the reviews because I keep mishearing your descriptions and wondering why you're suddenly talking about a tripod with lots of pizzas ... (Turns out you were talking about features!)
I have this tripod and the one thing I dislike the head, for two reasons, the first if there is any weight, like a Sony 150-600 zoom, it can not cope, but even with a normal camera lens the ball head is difficult to get level and it moves ever so slightly disrupting the composition.
at 8:35 there is another reason for monopods, say you want to shoot art in a Gallery, or an exhibition in a Museum, they don't allow tripods!, so a monopod is the only choice.
Not a fan at all of the center shaft. If extended stability is questionable. I use nothing but Sirui tripods having a 2204, 4414 and a 5214. The 5214 is great when I have my gimbal mount and my 600mm lens mounted for birds and other fast moving animals or in the studio, It is super stable!
That's an excellent insight into that tripod. I have 2 different K&F tripods and I like them - but their bags are a tad flimsy. This one might be a bit overkill for me but I'm still thinking about getting one. One thing though about your video Laura, can you please reduce the number of times you say "SUPER". I totally understand that English isn't your first language but after a couple of minutes into your video all I could hear was Super, Super, Super....
Adjustable center column - this defeats the stability of a tripod, you had three axis’s of stability but by putting your gear up on a pole now you only have vertical stability. Essentially you now have a monopod standing on top of a tripod… Horizontal center axis - why would you hang your camera so far off center. You’ve moved the cameras weight outside of the tripods stability. This is not a safe thing to do especially with heavier gear… Changing from horizontal to vertical axis with a ball head (unless it’s a very light camera) as you’ve now moved the center of gravity outside of the tripods stability. It’s like leaning over a cliff further and further and expecting to stay there… I’ve purchased one tripod since starting photography, RRS carbon fiber. It’s rock solid, reliable and safely holds my gear… When I was shopping for a tripod I read a review that stated “buy once cry once”. It’s much more expensive to purchase one tripod then another and another because they’re “inexpensive” and not designed well. Buy one good tripod that’ll serve you well for many years… Multi function tripods are like the old “all in one” pieces of stereo equipment, they’ll do everything but nothing very well.
Tripods and the tripod market seems to be changing. 10 years ago, Manfrotto, Gitzo etc and you'd need to buy the head separately (I have a travel Manfrotto and a larger Gitzo) but now KandF and Neewer seem to be producing reasonably priced (NB not cheap) tripods which include the head. Am currently looking at the Neewer TP65, which includes most of the things I need (ball head, lightweight - sorry 2kg is too much for me, panning) as well as a handle for easy manoeuvre and control. Anyone used any Neweer tripods? Any good?
There is no such thing as the best tripod, there are a number of good tripods, it really comes back to your needs. For example if you only want a table top tripod you will select the best one that suits your needs and not a full sized tripod.
Not every photographer needs a tripod. Cartier-Bresson and McQuillan did quite well without tripods. It depends on your style of photography, and perhaps the subject matter in front of your lens. However to say that every photographer needs a tripod is grossly inaccurate.
Nobody in 11 years in London struggled to understand my English. But there is one beautiful thing on RUclips called “subtitles”. 😅 Easy fix. So I’m not really sure what’s the purpose of your comment. 🙃
Can't you not see the link to the tripod right below the video? 🤦🏻♀️ And I do also mention the name of the brand in the video, a few times actually. Maybe you were tired of my "too much talking" and you weren't paying attention. 😅

Very hands-on, practical, straight-to-the-point review. She does what she presents. Thank you very much for this review, Laura!
It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Thanks for all the info concerning this tripod. Checks all the boxes for sure.
Totally agree with this! 😄 You're very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
That's a great tripod. I currently have the one just a step below this. I love it completely.

You’re very welcome! :) I will keep the videos coming. So nice to know that you like my videos. 😍
That is a sweet tripod.
I settled for an 80 incher but I would recommend that K&F tripod to anyone who can afford the $129
Wonderful video, Laura.
Thank you, Laura. I like K&F and have one of their smaller tripods. This one looks a little large to strap to my motorcycle but I do like the height.
You’re welcome Christopher! So many happy photographers with K&F. So far I’m happy too! :))
An average size when retracted but yeah, for a motorcycle probably better with a smaller.
I really love how you explain things ...this tripod is amazing

Un gran trípode, muy completo y con un montón de variaciones. Buen vídeo! 👍
La verdad que tiene montón de modalidades! De momento, muy contenta con él. Me alegro de que te haya gustado el video! 😊
I have this tripod and the one thing I dislike the head, for two reasons, the first if there is any weight, like a Sony 150-600 zoom, it can not cope, but even with a normal camera lens the ball head is difficult to get level and it moves ever so slightly disrupting the composition.
"Your 🔘 Fabulosa"
"Y Un Poco Mas"
can a phone and a ring light be attached to this? * * sorry not too familiar with tripods
Thank you for the discount link, I really love this tripod!
You’re very welcome Donna! 😊 I really love it too. It became my main tripod now as it’s super versatile. :)
What a great truly comprehensive video. I'm way late, and so I missed the discount, but I just bought it. :-) it's all your fault. :-)
at 8:35 there is another reason for monopods, say you want to shoot art in a Gallery, or an exhibition in a Museum, they don't allow tripods!, so a monopod is the only choice.
Unless the centre-shaft is used inverted - it's a great thing and the only thing that gets lower is a bean-bag.
Hi! Do you know if the SA254T1 fits with the Sony Alpha a7II ? Because in the website said Nikon Canon
I totally understand that English isn't your first language but after a couple of minutes into your video all I could hear was Super, Super, Super....
gracias por compartir tu opinión, excelente reseña
Lovely video Lovely you dear Laura
Adjustable center column - this defeats the stability of a tripod, you had three axis’s of stability but by putting your gear up on a pole now you only have vertical stability. Essentially you now have a monopod standing on top of a tripod…
Horizontal center axis - why would you hang your camera so far off center. You’ve moved the cameras weight outside of the tripods stability. This is not a safe thing to do especially with heavier gear…
Changing from horizontal to vertical axis with a ball head (unless it’s a very light camera) as you’ve now moved the center of gravity outside of the tripods stability. It’s like leaning over a cliff further and further and expecting to stay there…
I’ve purchased one tripod since starting photography, RRS carbon fiber. It’s rock solid, reliable and safely holds my gear…
When I was shopping for a tripod I read a review that stated “buy once cry once”. It’s much more expensive to purchase one tripod then another and another because they’re “inexpensive” and not designed well. Buy one good tripod that’ll serve you well for many years…
Multi function tripods are like the old “all in one” pieces of stereo equipment, they’ll do everything but nothing very well.
Is this okay for fuji xs10
I would that voice blender left in the hills
Tripods and the tripod market seems to be changing. 10 years ago, Manfrotto, Gitzo etc and you'd need to buy the head separately (I have a travel Manfrotto and a larger Gitzo) but now KandF and Neewer seem to be producing reasonably priced (NB not cheap) tripods which include the head. Am currently looking at the Neewer TP65, which includes most of the things I need (ball head, lightweight - sorry 2kg is too much for me, panning) as well as a handle for easy manoeuvre and control. Anyone used any Neweer tripods? Any good?
I feel like watching Roberto Photo... 👍
There is no such thing as the best tripod, there are a number of good tripods, it really comes back to your needs. For example if you only want a table top tripod you will select the best one that suits your needs and not a full sized tripod.
I love your accent, is it Greek?
No she is Spanish.
@@vladimirlopez7840 Silly me, she must be from Madrid. I've lived in Madrid and I recognize the accent now that you tell me.
Not every photographer needs a tripod. Cartier-Bresson and McQuillan did quite well without tripods. It depends on your style of photography, and perhaps the subject matter in front of your lens. However to say that every photographer needs a tripod is grossly inaccurate.
I really hope you're still getting kickbacks for this because you sold it to me and many others I'm sure.
Can you go an angle?
I'll keep my Gitzo
Its working with panasonic x10000
Funny accent spanish 😊
I just want to meet you!
I don't like tripod with the central column. Not for me.
👌🏻❤️
😊❤
After all this verbal high speed diatribe, the brand of the tripod is not mentioned. Don't give up your day job.
she did mentioned during the video and also is in the link below as well
ye kaisa name he bhai. 😂
It was so difficult to understand this English 😢
Nobody in 11 years in London struggled to understand my English. But there is one beautiful thing on RUclips called “subtitles”. 😅 Easy fix. So I’m not really sure what’s the purpose of your comment. 🙃
@@LauraBC It was difficult literally.
@@manojkunwar8017 after 5 minutes or so you get used with the accent... and is actually lovely afterwards
I really wanted to learn about this tripod from your video but you talk to fast. Thanks anyway
Hi Laura... you are speaking waaaay too fast... very hard to understand
To much talking without mention the brand of the tripod
Can't you not see the link to the tripod right below the video? 🤦🏻♀️ And I do also mention the name of the brand in the video, a few times actually. Maybe you were tired of my "too much talking" and you weren't paying attention. 😅
