In my Opinion New Sondo City ist a very interesting project. It fascinated me so much that I hold a speech about it. This video is a nice overview over this city project. Does anybody know the Song in this video?
It is for ambassador's and business men's child not only for european, american, and all the foreigners but also Korean business men's family as well. it is a international city like Dubai.

Building dozens of such ghettos for the very rich in and around cities where most of the people are grateful just to get by is disturbing and a formula for revolution.

there is a village called 'English Village' or 'yung-uh ma-uel' which is for korean people to visit and act like they are in foreign country so that they can learn english better.
its a town of british, american and other european people to come and work as a english teacher. if koreans are not open about other cultures why would we learn/build about something that is other culture?

I think this project was a mistake, not least because of the current economic situation. The money should have been spent on building projects in Incheon-Seoul. I've walked around Songdo and, whilst admittedly it's just a construction site, even when it's finished I think it's going to feel hollow and lacking atmosphere. It's not compact enough. Korea is good at marketing itself to the world as if it is neck-and-neck with Japan, but don't believe it!
ever been to Dubai? It's weird when I first got there and saw the mass transit train stops ending, leading and going to no where. It's dessert. Just sand and miles of sand. Absolutely no where! Holy cow. Can't help but feel that there's over-investment and wastage of investment in Dubai.

$25 billion = lots of debt and interest payments = many people working jobs just because they have to -more of the same steel and concrete which = debt and pollution yet sold as "green". Djenne is a 2,000 year old city built without using fossil fuels which incorporates a joyous, festive process in its construction. google Djenne mud fest, and cob, and Fujian Tulou and Taos Pueblo and watch "First Earth"
Make your utopy but please.. than that will be a happy place socially and ecologically sustainable.. if it isn't plained to be on that way, then it's not future...
