Fun story: one of our friends, who was a bachelor, loved to eat but never knew what to bring to our "Pot-luck" gatherings. So, we gave him a crockpot as a gift with the easy-peasy instructions on how to make "little-smokies" so that we knew that we would always have them at every gathering. 😉👍
I love that!!!
People in SA love to braai, suip (drink) and jol (pardy) on New Year's Eve leading up to midnight and beaches are always packed on New Year's day.
❤ from SA
Don’t know if it’s a regional thing in the US or depends on family, but for New Years we would also always eat black eyed peas, cabbage, pork, and corn bread to bring the in the new year. Black eyed peas for luck, cabbage for wealth, pork for progress and prosperity, and corn bread for good fortune and prosperity.
I'm from Oklahoma, black eyed peas are a thing here too. Some people do greens but black eyed peas are THE must on new years day.
New Year's is a pool party!!! I always love it. And it's so warm that swimming until midnight isn't weird at all. Along with a braai, and some moderation when drinking and swimming. And fireworks😁
From South Africa
Pool party! That sounds awesomeeee😁🎶
good good job sam
I love it this vedio sam
Our friend group in the United States often celebrates the New Year with a movie marathon of Star Wars, Harry Potter, or Lord of the Rings films. We put out lots of snack foods and sodas and hang out watching movies.
I would definitely join in on that celebration! Sounds like a really fun time (I love LotR!)
In south Africa 🇿🇦 everything is legal 😂❤
ohh sam good good
Theyre tiny sausages more than hot dogs. And you slow cook them in bbq sauce and theyre basically a finger food type snack. New years party foods are all finger foods, dips and desserts usually.
definitely more sausages! I think I tried to clarify that later in the video by saying "vienna" which is what they're called here but yes! I meant the tiny sausages :)
I wish I could try them someday😋
