  • Here is a brief slide show of the main steps involved in installing my ham radio tower and antenna. The Tower is a US Tower tubular MA770 with positive pulldown motor and limit switches. The antenna is a 40-6 meter DB18 Steppir. These were installed between October 2014 and January 2015. This information is provided as-is without any warranty.

This is how it should be. Great work. If anyone complains about the size just tell them their invited at superbowl time and the pictures good.

With the crane and especially the concrete pump, your approach was stellar. I do have one question though. The specs for the MA-770 indicate a max wind loading (at 62 foot height @ 85 mph) at a paltry 1 sq. foot. antenna area. What am I missing?

4:53 This is where I was confused looking at my TMM-433ss instructions. I didn't realize that the grout was added after the fact. So the tower is sitting on leveling nuts and once plumb, the nuts remain and grout was forced in inder the base? In my manual it showed the leveling nut in the grout and It didnt make sense, now I think it does. Thanks for showing that

beautiful setup maybe one day I can afford to get a retractable monopole. Would be nice to take down when storms coming and raise back up afterwards.

Great presentation. Only one comment. Run it slower or narrate it. I must be a slow reader. I found myself either looking at he photo or reading the text and by the time I read the picture was changing.
Other than that. Great job/ nice set up.73

@@hillbillybackwoods And when you do, the header and footer that appears when paused covers part of the text. No bueno.

Nice, clean tower, and what a big antenna! Just curious what the max. allowable antenna wind area is for the MA-770MDP?

I have had no issues with the DB18 and highly recommend it. I wish I had the DB18E but it was too heavy for the tubular tower. Good luck. Howard W6HDG
