The guitar was played by Ricky Wilson. Sadly he died of AIDS in 1985. Keith Strickland, who plays drums on Rock Lobster, learned Ricky's guitar parts and took over on guitar, which he played on "Love Shack". (Ricky had a really unique style where he removed two of the guitar strings.) Ricky's sister Cindy is the one bouncing around the stage. Kate Pierson is on keyboards and Fred Schneider sings lead.
I have loved the B-52's for over 40 years. It was such a delight to see you enjoy yourself so much with a band that I have adored for so long. Thank you for playing this and for your wonderful reaction. Blessings on you and yours, sir. ❤
“Later we [Culture Club] played with them a few times and they had the most unique, hypnotic sound. It’s trashy Americana, John Waters, Divine, the Shangri-La’s, high camp and bubblegum punk. The beat is everything. Fred always reminded me of Dr Zachary Smith from Lost in Space. I never thought about whether the B-52’s had a gay angle. They were just against rules in general - taking classic American kitsch and giving it a punk, space-age irreverence, like a beautiful car crash with pop surrealism. They were very camp but very funky: always on it, melodic but effortlessly free. It’s the sort of pop music that I want to hear.” Boy George reflecting on the B-52’s in The Guardian.
love your RX Stan, as usual! When this played at the dance clubs in the 80's, there is one section of this song where everybody would get down on their backs on the floor with their hands and legs up (I suppose to imitate a lobster turned on it's back? I'm not really sure why we did that...but we did). It was really fun, and it took all the pretenses out of the crowd and made it more fun and less 'posing', which is tended to happen at the clubs back then.

Taking that 'dance like no ones watching' attitude all the way. I love it 😊
One time I was at Big Lots and they randomly had this song playing.
The B- 52's were so much fun to see live in concert !
Great memories 👌
Nice reactions as Always !!!
I could watch Cindy Wilson dance all night.
Seeing this band live was such an experience. Leaving sweaty and exhausted was a given. Not a concert, more like a giant party! ❤😂
Wonderful to see how much you enjoyed it!
When you see them live it makes a lot of different you see how things work great music
Have an OG copy of this on my turntable right now.
Cool song.

Welcome to the club
Also check out "Roam" if you haven't.
IMHO...I think "Love Shack" is WAY better...but that's just me
