Their Q2u is also arguably the best dynamic microphone under $100 too, and can be used both via USB or analogue with an interface if you decide to invest in a full audio chain down the line as well.
They've been in the music industry a long time. Their wireless instrument setups are really good too. Pretty well known at least in the live music scene of producing really good stuff. Some of the "low end" music stuff you find can be infinitely better than high end pc audio stuff you find at the same price or even cheaper
@@Azeria I'm still sort of getting over the time I asked my father to buy a Blue Yeti Nano 😅. The Nano is a USB only mic... sounds nasally (I applied a boost at 3khz in Logitech G Hub) shapped, and doesn't have XLR connectivity.
Any recomendation for around 30-50 dollars? I have a kinda midrange voice, so mics with an emphasis on the high end, make my voice sound awful I have a cheap crappy xlr dootlet so it doesnt matter if it's xlr
I did it. I FINALLY caught up with Dankpods. Months ago I started watching all the videos in chronological order. I think I got to about the Galaxy Buds Pro video when I realized how much I was missing by not watching his Patreon videos. So I became a Patron and started over from the very beginning to get the full Dankpods extended edition experience. Now I'm finally caught up. First channel I've ever gone out of my way to watch everything on.
thats the model I had when I first started youtube and recordings lol. If I would have had the micro USB one at least i wouldnt have had to make a special trip for a new cable when I lost the original... Now I use a Shure SM57 with a Behringer Uphoria interface, nice upgrade.
Yeah that's the one I have. The port for it on the ball is also cursed - you can plug the cable in upside down for absolutely no reason. I very nearly returned mine because it wasn't working and it hadn't ever occurred to me that someone would implement that type of port that way. I only figured it out because there was a faq on the blue website that mentioned it.
@Stang the Wolf okay I was wrong. They made an updated version called the snowball ice (the one in the video) that has mini-usb. I didn't realize that they still sold the original snowballs until yesterday
What I tend to recommend for a "cheap" microphone is the Samson Q2U. It's insanely versatile! It's a handheld dynamic mic with a little stand so you can use it at your desk or... in your hand. It's got both USB *and* XLR outputs, so you can use it right out of the box through USB and keep using it if you decide to upgrade to an interface setup. Through USB, you can use the headphone port on the back for monitoring. Being a dynamic mic, it naturally has some rejection of room noise, so it's more friendly for use in any old space. I've seen the price float from $50 to $70 U.S. All in all, it's a great value and a great starting point.
100% agree, best bang for your buck. I got it few years ago that comes with a stand as a deal from amazon for below 80usd and its worth every dollar. If i were to recommend a budget good mic its always Samson Q2U and Shure SM58 if it's out stock since the SM58 is really close in terms in features (tho no USB mode) and price 👌🏼
pretty sure i recorded my first single entirely on one of these. For a cheap USB mic in a dorm room, the sound quality still hold up to newer stuff I’d make!
@@lapom5669 Yeah, I’d guess it isn’t made out of the most precious material considering the price, but the damn *portability* and quality is kinda crazy ngl!
Re: the manuals. I think the difference is Samson is a legit audio company specialising in live audio that's been around ages. It's just that little bit of polish understanding that their mics are going to be used for home recording vocals and instruments and need to setup a bit differently depending on the instrument as well. It's absolutely amazing the quality you can get for home recording and with such simplicity. Though I do think it's hard to go past 2nd hand sm57/sm58 + cheap desk(careful of fakes floating around though) as an all rounder setup. Legit tanks. Got lucky personally about 3 years ago that a local studio was closing down and I had known the owner for almost 20 years that he gave me an EV RE20 (best vocal mic I've heard), 3 x Sm57, 2xSm58's for $500AUD.
I've had that Samson mic for years now ever since I built my first PC. I've upgraded every single part since then except for that mic, it works great for all I need. I've even added a nice esk mounted mic arm (again from samson, which is also amazing for the price) and a cheap pop filter from amazon. Unless I for some reason need a different mic or this one breaks, I don't plan on upgrading because it does all I need it to with simply plugging it in and putting it on a mic arm (for anyone that has it, you can take the feet off if you mount it to an arm so they don't get in the way with a screw on the bottom of it) and running it through nvidia broadcast for noise reduction (because I basically always have a fan and random noises in the background). I highly recommend it if anyone needs just a nice solid mic for cheap.
As someone with a blue snowball I gotta say when I got it, it was $35 at walmart so for the price I got it at it was way worth the money. I have been thinking about getting a new mic but still need to find the right one to take my snowballs place. Every mic shown here are great once you get used to them and that's what makes the magic of usb microphones, easy to use and can get better when you mess around with settings!
I have a snowball too but because it stands too tall for me in front of my screen so I have to place it to my side but looking at the samson and the audio technica seem like a good alternative to my issue of how huge the snowball is in front of my screen
The coolest part about Samson is that it can also work as a soundcard. Yes, a soundcard! Once you connect your headphones to it you can not only hear your voice when unmuted, but also play some tunes from Mac/PC.
Yes! Makes it great for PC gaming. I got mine on a foldable mic stand that I can move around very easily, and with the ability to send sound to it is great for sim racing cause I can have the booming loud engine sounds coming from my main speakers and use headphones connected to the meteor to hear my spotter and the voice chat clear as a summers day
I got my Blue Yeti for around 100 buckeros and I'm happy with the quality and features they offer, the Blue Yeti in here actually sounds better than what I have experienced with one of my friends using it in voice chats for some reason. Can definitely agree that the snowball isn't good for it's price
I will always stand by Samson as a company. They make some pretty great audio stuff for extremely cheap. I use their condenser mics in my studio and they sound phenomenal. Would highly recommend.
@@joshroehl6098 alright listen dude. I respect the grind, I really do. I understand how hard it is to get your music out there. But I can assure you this isn't the right way of going about it. Perhaps try more conventional means of advertising your music instead of just randomly replying to comments
I have a C03 and a pair of C02s and they serve me very well. I agree, Samson makes good shit for not a lot of money, I highly recommend (I just wish the LED placement on the C03 weren't RIGHT IN YOUR FACE when you're singing into it, that's the one complaint I have about my mics)
Yeah my mate got one of those “snowball ice” mics, I really don’t like how it sounds, so I got a cheap £2 clip-on mic from aliexpress out of spite and it sounds 10000x better lol.
@@snerttt Actually I used to have that mic, and so did a friend of mine. Even though it was the same mic, they both sounded very different. Mine sounded as you'd expect, but my friend sounded like he was recording using his phone. The issue turned out to be the microphone distance. I had mine on a mic arm, and he had his 10 feet away from him behind his mouse and. keyboard. I believe it's most important how you use the mic, over which mic it is that you use.
Samson really know their stuff. I've been using one of their super nugget Go mics for almost a decade and for how cheap the little guy is it's done a stellar job. It doesn't even feel low-quality, plus it comes with a soft shell case.
I will say the Blue Snowball you got was the “Ice” one. The original had a much better manual, different usb plug, more features and was only $50 (in freedom eagles)
As someone using Samson Meteor for past 5 years, can confirm that it's an amazing little nugget. Only two issues are mini-usb, but well, we didn't have type-c back then, and also from all the times I accidentally yanked it with headphones 3.5 jack is basically dead Also lost the egg bag :c
I also have an AT2020, can't recommend it enough. I have mine plugged into an M-Audio audio interface. Previously though I had a Samson Q2U which was also a very great mic. I mainly use it for music and the Samson didn't pick up the higher frequencies I wanted it to so I upgraded. The Samson Q2U is a XLR/USB so it's very easy to upgrade from as well edit: I do not recommend the M-Audio interface though. It's a bit janky. Mine could be faulty but I never felt like returning it since it still worked but the microphone only seems to pick up sound when the gain in close to max and doesn't offer much volume control.
My Samson Meteor Mic died yesterday after 9 years and I couldn’t have been happier with it. Was super nice being able to fold it up when moving from place to place in college. Would definitely get it again
Hey man i just wanted to thank you that you've introduced me to this hobby, it started from the ZSN Pro X and the Samson (which i bought both on your recommendation) and from there my interest grew and now i have like 4 IEMs, 3 earbuds and 2 headphones. I've just recently got my first proper setup with a planar magnetic heapdhones (HE400se) and a desktop amp (Topping L30) with a DAC on its way. Never in my life would i imagine myself spending more than 20$ for a headphone, "if it makes sound then it's good enough" or so i thought before stumbling upon your channel. but you made me realize how much better audio can be, and it's been a year since i watched my first video of yours, which is the Raycon review. Heh, if nothing else the Raycon was good because it introduced a lot of us to a great channel. And you're honestly one of my favorite RUclipsr, and not just for audio but just in general. I love the way you presented a niche hobby to a more mainstream audience in such an entertaining and easy to understand way
I'd always known that audiophiles were a "thing", but I'd never really gotten that much into it until I started watching this guy. I've got like 6 pairs of chi-fi IEMs now, it's great.
@@ringsystemmusic yeah, but audio to me was like this weird hobby only introverted rich guy were into (although, now that i think about it it's still kinda true) but dankpods made it easy to get into, i wouldn't even know that brands like KZ or even Sennheiser exists if not from him, it's not the kind of stuff you randomly stumble upon in your daily browsing. At first, im only aware of the more mainstream big company stuff like Sony, Apple, Razer etc
Haha I’m in the same boat you’re in. Started with the KZ and 1 Dac and 1 amp later I’m shopping for some open backs actually was looking at the HE400se. How is it? Would you recommend them? How’s the bass?
I got a pair of SHP9500, and they freaking amazing. Not only in sound, but they are super comfortable. Which makes sense, they are the highest rated for comfort on Rtings (tied with a few others). I never would have thought I would buy open backs, but here I am, and I love em. They’re pretty reasonably priced, the frequency response graph is almost identical to the HD600 by ol’ mate senny. But they’re less than a 1/3 of the price at $75usd. And you don’t need any extra kit to use them, they can be run right out of your phone. Anyway, free marketing aside. Same, I always have liked music, but never really got in to the audiophile side of things. Before watching him, my go to were wired skullcandy crushers. I gotta say though, those crushers were really comfortable. Not as good as the SHPs but still in the number two spot. Edit: I’ve got the ZSN Pro x too, they’re awesome. I’ve always had a hard time with earbuds, as everything falls out. But apparently I just have small ear canals. So with the smallest bud bits, I still have a spot where it pushes on the cartilage a bit. But they’re still wearable, and get better when I use them for a few days in a row. I really like their sound signature. They’re great for road trips.
Second this sentiment! DankPods got me into audio, and now I have several IEMs, Hifiman Sundaras, DT 770, and several other headphones with varying levels of buyers remorse.
I've had that samson mic for a few years now, not a single regret, a couple people I work with have complemented how well it sounds Pro Tip: The feet can come off, if you unscrew the base
I've always wondered how to get the legs off... But i keep them because they add character. After working from home for the past year, people have commented on how good the Samson sounds and looks. Punches far above it's weight in that regard... Get a mic boom arm thing and it's a killer mic!
I personally used the Meteors for years. It's a really really good mic. Also great for discord, because it filters out even the clicky keyboards 100%. I only switch to a Beyerdynamic, because all mat black fits my setup better and the Fox is usb-c. That was before I knew there was a black version of the Meteor tho. Make it USB-C Samson, and I'll buy one I promise!
@@editedtie3279 i can attest to this, when playing games (i.e fortnite) my dad will yawn in the background and my friends will hear it but if im in a call on discord they dont hear it
You have no idea how helpful this video was to me. My sister wants to get into streaming and finding the right mic has been so hard and thanks to you I'll be getting her a little Samson and a good computer this Christmas. Thank you for making her Christmas before it's even happened
I worked at a small music store for ~5 years and even though I'm not anymore, I'll never stop shilling for Samson. They make good, inexpensive (but not cheap!) shit that lasts.
@@rastas_4221 I am thinking of getting a new microphone form a cheap BM-800. Maybe I'd need some kind of interface cus this one goes from XLR to USB and I think it becomes shit because of it.
As a voice actor who started out on a Samson Go USB microphone, I can attest Samson is a great beginner mic company. The Go is about as tall as my pinky, very compact, has two recording styles (cardiod AND omnidirectional), plug-and-play USB, audio jack, AND (in my opinion, the real kicker) is $50 USD! My opinion: better mic than the snowball in terms of bang for buck.
I've personally been using the meteor mic for 3 years. It's so excellent for the price. I took the feet off of it and put on a stand and been using for game streaming, sim racing communication, gaming,.podcasting and zoom meetings and it works excellent in every application
I used mine for 3 or 4 years as well. I killed it with a peanut can. What a genuinely great microphone for the money though I bought another to keep as a backup
I recorded my first two bedroom ep's with only a Samson meteor Every instrument, every vocal track recorded one at a time. No interface, and a free to use DAW. So slow going, but I learnt SO MUCH about solo music production from that bare-ass set up. Arguably more than I have from all the tutorials and online guides I've used
The Meteor was my first condenser. It got kidnapped by my brother who streams as a hobby and has been going strong for good half a decade now. It is solid little chrome b-plug with good sound and excellent documentation showing off its pedigree as being made by an established recording equipment company. Unlike brands like Blue that mostly just get by by name. Though it has been aging a bit recently if not obvious by it still using a Mini-USB which has practically been deprecated for quite a while.
Audio engineer here! My first microphone was a Samson Q2U usb/xlr mic. It came with headphones, recording software, a mini usb cable (obviously) and they even threw in a full blown good quality xlr cable all for $90! 8 years and many microphones later, I still have that original mic, and I still use it! I’ve used it on literally everything: drums, bass cabs, guitar cabs, piano, violin, cello, acoustic guitar, vocals, and even random things like wine glasses. It sounds perfectly serviceable on anything you throw at it, and with the right eq and compression in a full mix, I’ve fooled people into thinking it was a far more expensive and high end mic. Samson makes some great entry level microphones. Do I have my gripes with them? Absolutely. But I still recommend them all the time.
Man, these guys are literally like Shure... Been around forever, offer high end equipment for NON-consumers, but have also decided to expand into the consumer market... Consider them officially on my radar (for headphones at least; I'll never be in the market for a standalone mic) 👏
I had no idea compression was a thing that already exists. For years I've hated using Netflix because the show scenes will go from whisper quiet to a jackhammer, which makes it impossible to watch anything late at night
Yeah I use headphones after 10pm so I don't wake my roommate nor the landlord. Also can hear everything crystal clear instead of having to put subtitles on. Right now I'm using a Roku TV, and use the Roku app that allows me to use my phone to use wired headphones.
My aunt has a Bluetooth optical audio device she uses to connect her headphones to the TV, so she doesn’t disturb my cousin. Her set up before was jank. She used a super long audio cable and connected wired headphones. She found a pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones for $50. I think she might use her pixel buds as well. Idk though.
The issue with those shows etc is that the mix is output for 5.1 or 7.1 Channel surround sound. So it sounds incredibly dumb on a standard pair of stereo speakers. You can be sure that the industry has been running compression on voices since the 80s.
I’ve been using the Samson Meteor for a few years and have absolutely loved it. It’s a fantastic microphone and has never let me down. And has excellent audio quality especially for the price.
@@poshpanda__ there was no joke there there was a ? mark at the end meaning it was a question or i am not getting the joke please explain i know what woosh is since its the r/woosh thingy but that didnt seem like a joke it was just repeating the comment but more compressed

I'm on my second meteor mic in 7 years now, really happy with it. It's mega sturdy but I broke it when i dropped the reinforce stand it was attached to with headphones plugged in. Aux port on the back got ripped off from the pcb completely solder pads and all :(. Otherwise really clean internal design. Compared it to the new one I got and they've changed it a bit over the years but it still look really repairable and easy to take apart :)
A couple months ago I needed to buy a desk microphone for recording voice over and taking calls easier. I found your channel and can’t stop watching! I’ve learned so much about xlr microphones and interfaces from watching your videos, and others in the community like Curtis. I’m definitely surprised to see dankpods making a video on the subject though lol. I just would’ve liked him to cover a budget xlr setup too, like maybe a blue ice and a shure sm48. Even if that isn’t as simple as some usb mics
@@goombanr3411 Sounds like a calculus problem, where a function could have a limit of zero or infinity or anything in-between. So, is does a smooth surface have an infinite amount of bumps on it, or one large solid smooth bump?

Aw, the Samson Meteor was my first 'proper' mic when I was about 14 years old, I loved that thing. Accidentally broken the usb connection on the first one and immediately got another, I loved it that much. Bless.
Literally bought a $40 thing from Coles that sounds pretty good. It's amazing how far these inexpensive mics have come and they are world's better than the dingly thing on a headphone cable.
That Samson was my first real mic, and it still blows me away with how good it sounds. I used it for a good five years before switching to a dynamic and it still works today as well as it did when I bought it in like 2011 or so.
dankpods is such a breath of fresh air on this site, never in my life have i jumped out of my seat in joy when i got the notification that an ozzie spent 15 minutes talking about shit mics
I love my Blue Snowball. It's definitely dated, and lacking in terms of the outputs which sucks. But the recording quality itself is hard to beat. It's crisp and consistent and that's all I need. Blue knows how to make good built-in USB interfaces. It's also much cheaper in the states at least.
It seems like Samson is in reality a decent company that makes good either starter or disguised middle of the road quality products that don't cost you an arm and a leg.
I'm blown away that your mic is the AT2020. That's the one I use for livecasts (Livestreams that are also broadcast over terrestrial air waves) at work. Got mine in clearance for $80 bc it had no box. It sounds beautiful
“Terrestrial air waves” is somehow the most sci fi thing I heard in a long time. I’m sure it’s probably a normal english phrase but I’m not a native speaker.
When I was shopping entry budget mics, all of these options were in my list, but in the end I still got the Blue Snowball for one primary reason (outside good audio quality), it was on sale for the same cost of the Samson so in short, for normal prices the other options are better value for the money, but if the Blue is on sale then the Blue is worth it without a doubt for it's superior audio quality, got me a pop filter for the price difference, money well spent. Love the content mate, keep it up.
@@zedboiii It definitely does, just the competition around it for the money is starting to get really close and I just needed something that was better than the built in headset mic, so when it comes to the Snowball specifically these days, it's still a superior product to the rest within the price point but one that is best bought during a sale to truly get the ultimate value out of it.
I came into this video expecting my ears to hurt. I came out of this video shocked how good mics under $100 have become. These look like a genuine good investment for say people just getting into RUclips or music making or something.
I highly recommend a mic called the Samson Q2U. It has both XLR and USB connections. With USB it is plug-and-play with no extra drivers or software needed like the Samson Meteor in the video. It's a dynamic mic, so it's much more directional than the Meteor. It's the same price as the Meteor. I have nothing but good things to say about its quality and the sound you get for $69.
The meteor mic was actually the first actual USB mic I got that wasn't a headset mic. It was surprisingly pretty good sounding and I mean, it is pretty nice looking too. Nowadays I'm using something better but I'm glad to see it here :D
The mic I've been using for quite a while has been the Samson Q2U. It's a USB/XLR dynamic mic that you can get for $69.99. I can easily recommend it for both USB and XLR setups.
the 70 dollar version is even the one that comes with some cheap headphones at the same time(that are more usable than they ahve any right to be btw). You can get the bare microphone for even less.
No joke, I had the Samson Meteor and I loved it. The only downside was it picked up all the audio in a room, but that’s good for some people. I was recording amateur lp videos at the time, so I didn’t have an ideal set up, but I still keep that nugget around in case my newer mic bites it and I need something on the fly.
They actually have a software for noise reduction. For whatever reason you have to buy it. But if someone in the community is interested it might fall of my truck *cough*

Maybe head over to another RUclipsr - "DIY Perks", where this guy takes approx 40 to 50 dollars worth of electronics, brass, wood etc etc, and makes a microphone with sound recording quality, sensitivity and range of that of a $3000 Neumann Professional Mic... The thumbnail is of a weird wide and curved "H" thingy titled "making a cheap USB-C microphone"...
as someone who has been using a blue snowball for music for over two years it has a lot of potential once you learn to mix around its flaws and gainstage it properly
I can confirm that the SAMSON mic is awesome. I've been using mine for almost 10 years now and it's still kicking, sounding just as great as it did on day 1 (even with all the grease on it)!
Once thing about the meteor mic I have learned after using it for about a year is that it picks up everything that happens in a relatively loud house. So if you have parents or siblings constantly being loud in the house, I recommend something that make not pick up the echo as well as the meteor mic. So if you are talking to your friends, don't do it with that.
@@truereaper4572 I tried to deal with it forever, but it really doesn't help. You can turn down the gain on it (I think that's the term you use when talking about how loud the input is idk though) but it doesn't change the fact that can come through. It's definately a podcast mic though, if that's what you need.
You need a mic that rejects room noise, like a dynamic mic, for that kind of situation. Cardioid condenser mics are actually very sensitive which makes them good at capturing minute details, but if a close sound source is the only thing you need, you should go for a dynamic.
As you can see, it’s a rare “Dankus-dingus”, in its natural habitat, Aussielands. It seems to have a mating call that goes.. “NUGGET!” during mating season, he will use “dollarydoos” to try to attract “The sexy speaker”. He will then mate with the female by inserting one of his many cables into them for “auxiliary mode”.
Upgraded my microphone during the first lockdown. Listening to others shitty mics on teams calls did my head in, so i figured my mic setup was probably pissing people off. Changed it, got a bunch of "omg that sounds so good!" And slowly most of my colleagues all bought something for their home setups. My cheap usb mic was super cheap and does the job.
I personally have a $22 Fifine mic that I got like 5 years ago just so I had a better mic than the one built into my old laptop. And while it is terrible at handling fan/ambient noise (and sometimes even picks up trucks on the road), people in games like Fortnite & Modern Warfare have personally complimented me the past few years on how good it sounds. You don't need to drop big bucks to get quality equipment.
I have a Thronmax Pulse I got a few years ago, honestly never let me down. Good recommendation. It does recommend you get a pop filter or something else to avoid moisture getting into the mic, but I just took one of those pouches for ear buds and slid it over the mic, works flawlessly so far, and there's no traces of moisture when I pull it off either.
I agree about the love for the Blue Yeti. It's not too much more than the snowball, but still has the convenience of a usb interface if you don't want to skip all the way up to one that needs an xlr input device, and then they even make a version of it with xlr as well, so if you do want to eventually make the switch from usb to xlr, you don't need to buy a new microphone at the same time.
Fun fact! if you take the Blue Snowball Stand and flip it upside down you'll see a screw, if you carefully unscrew it from the extension stalk doodler that connects to the blue snowball, that screw has the same threading as most cameras do. So if you ever Mount your snowball and were wondering what to do with the stand, you can repurpose it as super low buck camera tripod. Just be careful with the tripod after you unscrew it. That screw was the only thing holding mine together so if you aren't careful, it will literally fall apart on you and you will spend an hour putting it back together only to mess it all up on the last little bit and restart the process. DONT. ASK ME. HOW I KNOW.
got my used FIFINE K669 for $15 like half a year ago, and it's a steal for that money. already sounded freakin' great the day i got it, but after i adjusted some EQ's in Voicemeeter that thing became godly. for real, sounds like straight from some $200 mic.
the Snowball was behind its time when it was released as I'm pretty sure other microphones were having the headphone out at that time. And the only thing worse than having mini and not having USB-C is micro.

They've been in the music industry a long time. Their wireless instrument setups are really good too. Pretty well known at least in the live music scene of producing really good stuff. Some of the "low end" music stuff you find can be infinitely better than high end pc audio stuff you find at the same price or even cheaper

In all fairness to the Snowball, the original model used a USB to USB-B cable (the kind used for printers) so having a mini-usb is an upgrade.
thats the model I had when I first started youtube and recordings lol.
My ddj uses that lol
so you're telling me that they upgrated from type b to mini usb on that? mine still uses a type b port

What a tremendous score!
The Samson Q2U is a XLR/USB so it's very easy to upgrade from as well
edit: I do not recommend the M-Audio interface though.

I've had that samson mic for a few years now, not a single regret, a couple people I work with have complemented how well it sounds

Whats it's your opinion for de Razer Seiren Pro in xlr mode?

Same, got one of those bad boys a while ago and it's never disappointed!

I got my Snowball used with an extra long boom arm and a pop filter for 50 eur. Can't argue with that price
tbf the blue has better clarity
@@zedboiii It definitely does, just the competition around it for the money is starting to get really close and I just needed something that was better than the built in headset mic, so when it comes to the Snowball specifically these days, it's still a superior product to the rest within the price point but one that is best bought during a sale to truly get the ultimate value out of it.
Yes can you bludgeon someone with snowball as you would with meteor?
It's not super heavy, but it's not light. You could probably bludgeon someone with it fairly effectively if you use the desk stand that comes with it.
14:19 The Samson “rocket ship” with the X-Men animated series opening being it’s theme song was something I didn’t know I needed from this channel.
Can’t wait to smell these mic tests
@Miley Cyrush💦🍎 びち!!!!!
@Miley Cyrush💦🍎 ok
The meteor mic was actually the first actual USB mic I got that wasn't a headset mic. It was surprisingly pretty good sounding and I mean, it is pretty nice looking too. Nowadays I'm using something better but I'm glad to see it here :D
would you buy a Rode mini usb?
The "I've become far stronger than you could've ever imagined" bit really did it for me
Great stories mate. You should write books and record audio books out of them. Forget millions of listens. You'll have billions of them in no time.
Hopefully he puts one of the mics in Frank’s enclosure after this so we can finally hear what’s on his mind
Frank is a girl
His snake is a girl with a boy name 😂
Frank is frank
No joke, I had the Samson Meteor and I loved it. The only downside was it picked up all the audio in a room, but that’s good for some people. I was recording amateur lp videos at the time, so I didn’t have an ideal set up, but I still keep that nugget around in case my newer mic bites it and I need something on the fly.
They actually have a software for noise reduction. For whatever reason you have to buy it. But if someone in the community is interested it might fall of my truck *cough*

You could also just use Nvidia broadcast. They have a built in feature for noise cancellation and it’s free as long as you have Nvidia graphics.
I got the Meteor as well and it just lives on my desk. My friends hate me because this sits about 5cm from my mechanical keyboard, but I do love how simple and tiny it is. No stand, no arm. Absolutely tiny footprint for great quality.
9:06 - This is the mice you use when you want to talk to the power.

15 minutes of realistic stories. Outstanding.
A buddy recommended a decent Samson microphone and I've been impressed with them ever since. Sturdy with good sound quality
“Cheap” all depends on the scale of what’s around it. Cheap could be 10 grand or 15$, it just all depends on what’s around it.
Oh... you get Bot crap too? 😒 - Just do what I do, report it....
Anyway, what I was going to say, I agree... I use the 668, same deal. Great sound.
finally, I can hear Dank's ramblings in full quality microphone audio!
as someone who has been using a blue snowball for music for over two years
it has a lot of potential once you learn to mix around its flaws and gainstage it properly
You can probably adjust that in your audio settings
@@truereaper4572 I tried to deal with it forever, but it really doesn't help. You can turn down the gain on it (I think that's the term you use when talking about how loud the input is idk though) but it doesn't change the fact that can come through. It's definately a podcast mic though, if that's what you need.
You need a mic that rejects room noise, like a dynamic mic, for that kind of situation. Cardioid condenser mics are actually very sensitive which makes them good at capturing minute details, but if a close sound source is the only thing you need, you should go for a dynamic.
@@xmlthegreat do you know any good dynamic mics? I'm not good with mics and don't know where to start.
I love that you can make weird accents and you can make weird voices
The M20 streaming kit just costs 20% more and it's the same mic except is comes with a pop filter and a mic arm, so that is also an option.

Aww I've always loved golden retrievers!
6:00 i like the one on the top left that just says "DUMPLING" for no reason
I agree about the love for the Blue Yeti. It's not too much more than the snowball, but still has the convenience of a usb interface if you don't want to skip all the way up to one that needs an xlr input device, and then they even make a version of it with xlr as well, so if you do want to eventually make the switch from usb to xlr, you don't need to buy a new microphone at the same time.
dankpods constant referencing to rust makes me happy and proves his true aussieness
0:45 still sounds better than my mic
True lol
Then u probably got scammed lol
Fun fact! if you take the Blue Snowball Stand and flip it upside down you'll see a screw, if you carefully unscrew it from the extension stalk doodler that connects to the blue snowball, that screw has the same threading as most cameras do.
DONT. ASK ME. HOW I KNOW.
mine DEFINITELY didn't fall apart like yours
I'd recommend giving Fifine a look, they make great quality mics for cheap. I got a $30 mic and it sounds honestly comparable to a blue yeti.
i have one and it is great better than my 100 dollar headset mic
got my used FIFINE K669 for $15 like half a year ago, and it's a steal for that money. already sounded freakin' great the day i got it, but after i adjusted some EQ's in Voicemeeter that thing became godly. for real, sounds like straight from some $200 mic.
Ah, the man who yells in a calming manner, my favourite.

the Snowball was behind its time when it was released as I'm pretty sure other microphones were having the headphone out at that time. And the only thing worse than having mini and not having USB-C is micro.
It's weird because my Snowball iCE has a full size USB type B connector, instead of micro-B. I guess Blue did some corner cutting at some point...
@@ericbaiao7670 my classic snowball, which is about 5 years old, also has a full sized Type-B, and the old style full chrome metal stand.
