  • Elvis Presley blew up into stardom quicker than any other human of his time. In the 50s, all of a sudden he was all you'd hear about. But how exactly did that happen? How did this man charm the world into instantly falling in love with him?

Jerry and Sonny said it all. Elvis had everything - charm, incredible good looks, haunting voice with love songs, and wild and untamed with rock songs. And he was simply a very nice guy - there is not one bad thing written or said about him by those who met him in person.

Are you kidding? The memphis mafia spent 30 years trashing him.

@@saphireblue3563they absolutely did not. They told the truth that Elvis was a complex person that was not a saint or superhero but rather a human being with good things and bad things about them. And the 5-hour interview documentary that the Memphis Mafia did which included Elvis beloved cousin Billy, they all share the funny stories touching stories and less than heroic stories about Elvis and the group. With tears in their eyes at the end they all agreed Elvis was responsible for "far more good than bad"

@@NickyMetropolis1313 NO they have trashed him for 40 years. It doesn't matter that they said some good things about him or their crocodile tears.

Is telling the truth trashing somebody?
You say crocodile tears. That's a terrible thing to say. These guys lived with him and knew him since the 1950s. They saw him through the highs and lows. They saw how he ended up. They were angry they were hurt they were upset they were fans they were brothers and for you to come along and say that it was crocodile tears and them telling the truth was "trashing" Elvis, I don't know what to tell you but that is very cold of you.

@@NickyMetropolis1313 First of all, YES, sometimes telling the truth is trashing someone. If the thing is too personal for instance. Like when they said that Elvis sent them out to buy porn for him, and they would look through the keyhole and watch him masturbate. Psychologists say that masturbating is perfectly normal, but they hold Elvis up to ridicule for it, trying to make him look like some kind of a pervert. And was it even true? We don't know but even it it is, it was very personal and he had a right, even in death, to a certain amount of privacy. Second, things like saying he wore a diaper or as Lamar told Albert Goldman that he sh-t in his bed???? Kathy Westmoreland said that Elvis never wore a diaper in his life, not even once. But again, even if he did they could have respected his privacy.
And Lamar making a big deal about the first time he saw Priscilla, saying she was 13. She was 14. Saying he was afraid he would go to jail. He was implying that Elvis would molest or have sex with her at that age. Priscilla has said that NEVER HAPPENED.
Yes they are crocodile tears and these men have always been out to trash Elvis.

I’ve just come back visiting Memphis and stayed at the Graceland Guesthouse for 3 nights before moving downtown to the Peabody Hotel. I met Bernard Lansky’s Son, Hal & he told me that he met Elvis several times. He said Elvis was a “Gentleman”. Always kind and polite and always had time to spend with him & his Sister. Graceland itself was
magical. It was my 60th Birthday present to myself. TCB, Sue 🇬🇧

He was fine when he was 30! His ill health didn't start until he was in his late thirties and by the time he hit 40, he was quite ill but managed to keep going.
