    The ghost stories you've been sharing are way better than the "paranormal" shows I've seen on cable TV. A good ghost story has background information (i.e., history), good filming of nice places and a respect and compassion for the spirits, which your videos have.

      I just discovered your channel today & I'm so enthralled w/the stories & how you present them. I'm currently binge watching your content & I was excited to hear that you aren't too far from me. I live in Trumbull County Ohio only 3 miles from the Mahoning County line so it's only a 20min drive approximately for me to get to Columbiana County, so one day soon I'm going to make a point to visit this Inn & Tavern. I love your presentation of the stories to every place you visit. Thank you for taking the time to do the research & present it the way do. It's truly interesting & very well put together.

    What an interesting history about The Spread Eagle Tavern! My Great Aunt and Uncle lived in the house directly across the street from this building. Back in about 1970',we met the lady who owned this house before it became The Spread Eagle Tavern. In 1995, Great Aunt Mildred too me to lunch and toured the rooms in the Spread Eagle Tavern. Thank you for posting this on RUclips, It brought back lots of memories visiting Uncle Sam & Aunt Mildred!!!

    Pretty darn good video. You held my interest and spiked my curiosity. I never believed in ghosts, or spirits, apparitions or hauntings until I was a witness to one in my place of work years ago. Of all things it occurred in an old mansion, well over a century old, converted into an office building. I won’t bore you with my story but it was unnerving to say the least. Believe you - me, I am not the type to enhance or embellish or dramatize a story, in fact my wife will tell you I’m just plain down to nonsensical earth. That’s why when I watch your videos It makes me sit up and notice. You and I may or may not have a lot in common but when we tell a story most know it’s a sincere one.

    Used to work at a living history museum in Michigan. We had a clock in one of our buildings (last I knew, it's still in the building) that had been looked at and repaired by a professional. It rang on the hour and the half-hour when I was working there. HOWEVER: the hour ringing would happen on the half-hour and the half-hour ring happened on the hour. It had been doing that for over a year, which had been why the lady in charge of the artifacts had hired the guy to come out. This clock, though, dated back to the 1800s and was off-balance, as the desk was in a building that wasn't quite level. All I could figure was that, due to the fact that it was off-balance, the clock was unable to chime correctly. The mechanism that allowed for the chiming was eventually turned off and I don't know if it was ever turned back on or if it was even properly fixed, as the artifact lady left the same year that I did.

    • @SRfangirl
      @SRfangirl 2 года назад +1

      To add: even though the clock in your video is on the wall, it might be a similar issue, though I'm no professional clock person. I could be wrong and most likely am, but AFAIK, it's as good of a theory as any.

    • @CuriousHistoryYT
      @CuriousHistoryYT  2 года назад +1

      That works for me SRFangirl. It most probably is a simple mechanical issue but when it happens during the night at a haunted location, one’s mind starts to race! 🤣🤣🤣

    One thing to realize about schizophrenia its tradtionally affects males in their 20s, and women in their early to mid 30s. Of course in the past the earlier symptoms might delay the diagnosis. But it might fit with this family that the son was known to be afflicted and so moved west with the family, but Olivias might have had some of her first psychotic breaks in NY, especially if mixed with some new alcohol use and stress while looking for stage work. Then the hallucinations and voices in the mind increase as time goes on poor dear.

    Hmmm…very curious to know (pardon the pun) if Olivia’s fiancé broke off the engagement due to the history of mental illness in the family or because Olivia was pursuing a career on the stage. At one time, it was just not done to want to become an actress and was much frowned upon. Is there any information that you might be able to find that could give you any idea why the engagement was broken? It had to be something major because breaking an engagement was a very serious thing and could cause you to be ostracized and make persona non grata in certain social circles.

      That’s an excellent question!
      Currently we are attempting to contact the former owner of the Tavern who is said to have Olivia’s sister’s diary. We are hoping to shed some light on that.
      Olivia’s sister, Grace, was the youngest child and was 7 years younger than Olivia so it’s possible she would have written extensively about it. We will let you know if we find anything!
