People who have seen him in training at Florida knows that he works ridiculously hard and is in fact addicted to intensity. Same can be said about de Minaur.
Damn, it's like total war. In the vids of his games, he looks like a natural talent, he moves so freely. Seeing how the sausage is actually made kinda changes the experience of watching him.
This guy's got loads of potential. Still kinda inconsistent, but with more reps, he'll get there. My prediction for Denis is at least 3 GS titles, and be among the top Canadian players for a long time, along with FAA.
I am a big Dennis fan, i have been watching closely his progress and i thoroughly believe he has tremendous potential. He reminds me a lot of Hewitt - energy wise. I am afraid however he needs / he deserves a much more efficient team around him. His team composition compared to Zverev is a kindergarden.
This was a great way to see all of the hard work and intense training involved! There is no way I could have lasted even a few minutes LOL. Fantastic work Denis. Yes, many trophies and getting to number 1 are in your near future!!! Super 2019 season too!
He needs a more experienced coach. I’m not saying he has a bad coach, but if he was coached by someone who was a highly ranked ATP player, his game will mature more. This dude has a bunch of potential.
Denis is amazing!! One of the things I love about him is he's always so nice and respectful to opponents at the net, win or lose. Always saying a few words and patting them on the back/chest. I love his forehand, backhand, serves, literally everything, but especially those volleys he does, spectacular! You go, Denis!!
Great video! Thank you Dennis, for giving us, tennis supporters, a glimpse of what you go through to entertain us during your training. I am glad you have a hobby, rap music. Life is about balance and at 19 it prooves what commitment and dedication you have. I remember your expression when, as a junior, you accidentally hit the umpire, with the ball, in his face. Your genuine devastation and sincere apology was written all over your face and in your body language. I wish you everything of the best for 2019 and hopefully many injury free years ahead.
wow, ive been talking about this type of series with a few content creators for 10 years but more so a videographer following a top player around for an entire year and producing videos daily, nonetheless this will do for now :)
Shapo's new coach actually creates videos for his players (tho not daily), and there's a series called My Tennis Life with Safarova and Jared Donaldson. You should check it out.
One to keep an eye on, good style of play you'd imagine he can only get better and better, hel might pick up a French and hard court don't see wimbeldon for him.
People be hatin on his rappin but at least he has the balls to show it to the world. To Denis: don’t be listenin to all the people hatin on you, just do u and what I love.
Kevin Funk it’s the only time in the year when players can focus on training without having to worry about tournaments. During the season they can’t train so hard because it would lower their performance abilities (they focus more on playing points and recovery)
Talented player with a good attitude. It's intimidating watching his coaches being absolutely no-nonsense. They effuse " business-minded, client-focused " even as he is so young so perhaps there's the subtle demand for respect for seniority as well. A few days in the life of a pro... hmmmm. The thing is it's just getting more competitive week in, week out. Good for tennis but something to seriously consider for the aspiring junior and/or parent.
They push him to the limits physically which he can manage because he is still young. But they miss the most important part.To win in tennis on top level it is not about power but how you can keep up mentally . This is why Federer is on top.He plays with his brain not muscles.
@JC that's what RF tells himself. but we could see that he lacked practice practice practice in 2018. 55-60 unforced errors per match, 25 UE/set his average says it all. was frustrating to watch him not a joy. do you know how hard and incessantly the CN practice TT technique for MM?? 😲
I’ve watched this video over 8 times

Similar to Stan, a beatiful game style, but inconsistent.
More reps? Sure. More raps? Please no!!!

His backhand volley, the style is really unique and effective!
ultimate video for youngsters .
And for older tennis club players, too! This video is inspiring.
Future number 1.
Nice work Denis! Met him at the US Open and he's a genuine guy.
Shapovalov is so great. He‘s working so hard!!!🎾❤️💪🏻
Happy birthday Denis ❤️ 🎉
Denis is very handsome.
10:58 Nishikori just casually walking by
the back cracking noise was very satisfying lol
This episode of Road to the 2019 season is probably the best... off season training...no pain..no gain

So much respect for this man, he’s my idol.
Go Denis Go!
Hair looks way better like this! Did not see the rap-thing coming, but i like it though :)
Keep it up!
Great video and insightful. Thanks for creating!
More long episodes please👏👏

Michael Vettas would love to see that

Christina Chuang thanks for the info! I saw his coaches posts on insta, super well put together.
Coach is right in saying to let his body do the work and not overthinking the motions.
That’s pretty cool that you can hear a hint of a Russian accent in Denis’ voice. He seems like a good kid. 😁🤙🏽
Amazing athletic, great potential 👏👍
Now I know what it takes for these guys to entertain us with some quality tennis. Keep up with the hard work. 👍🏼👍🏼
i love this guy
Wishing you great year in 2019 tour mate.
True to his word, he won his first title in 2019.
1:44, those back cracks are the best thing that happened this video
Won his first trophy this week, happy for him. Let's go Canada!

Very entertaining player to watch! I wish him much success!
“that’s a good fucking question” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I LOVE HIM
damn. so much potential, keep going!
Fantastic video!!!!
Let's go Denis
Can't believe how bro-y he is
He's a typical 19 year old suburban Toronto boy. They talk and posture like bros, for sure.
Future champ
Outrageous!!
Bro-overload
Like the new haircut. I guess he and Marty have parted ways. Hopefully a great season for Denis!
Marty got bad back injury last year and couldn't travel with him anymore. I suspect the change is related to that.
Sarah Rimmington Oh, that’s too bad. Thanks for the update Sarah!
One to keep an eye on, good style of play you'd imagine he can only get better and better, hel might pick up a French and hard court don't see wimbeldon for him.
Also have a chat with your fellow Canuck Rebecca Marino and talk about how she dealt with expectations. Canadians unite!

more of these please!

Dammm tennis offseason training..... here in Spain football players are always complaining about playing 2 games in a week, they should watch this
Because football is more demanding than tennis.

I don't understand this whole off season training thing. So 3 weeks is supposed to last you the whole year? It doesn't make sense.

The rapping is cringeworthy but his new haircut is really cute and he’s little so we’ll forgive that.
Lima Bean It’s not so bad. See it for what it is: an outlet.
Sigh
No homo
10;57 Nishikori Kei at back
I was at that dunk contest. Vinsanity!
will be ready mentally ? this is as important than technic, talent or body training. It is 50% and give full confidence
Y love your style
Canada is on the rise for tennis.
great video
I watched this while drinking beer and eating ice cream.
You will be number 1 or 2 with Zverev really soon. No matters what people thinks.
Same coach as Safarova!!
He is like Jannik Sinner right now
Talented player with a good attitude. It's intimidating watching his coaches being absolutely no-nonsense. They effuse " business-minded, client-focused " even as he is so young so perhaps there's the subtle demand for respect for seniority as well. A few days in the life of a pro... hmmmm. Federer is not mentally as strong as Nadal and Djokovic
@@olivermccall3898 yeah might be true but compared to shappy he is mental guru lol

Damn Denis and Felix training hardcore, mean while Nick K is eating crisps and trains virtually not at all!
Since when did Stifler starting coaching tennis?
There was Kei Nishikori.

he's getting whooped by Federer in miami right now.

he trains harder than Roger, that's for sure😓
Now that Rogers older sure. Older you get the less training you need. It's more maintenance as you get older.

leech RF needs to preserve his body at all costs now. He can't train like a 19 year old.
If Shapo had Federer’s talent, he wouldn’t have to train as hard
got dont need that much trains
