- We already know cockatoos are smart, but what you're about to see takes their intelligence to another level!
Typically, cockatoos follow a certain pattern when it comes to treats: step in, take their treat, step away, and repeat. Even in a group, they wait their turn, respecting the dominant bird who eats first. But what happens when one cockatoo defies the usual rules?
Watch as one cockatoo does something that sets it apart from the rest, and it might just leave you surprised.

Perhaps I should retire and have a lifestyle like yours. Went to Loch sport, very little birds, very disappointed. Just Magpie on the feeders. I think they out in the forest munching on the flowering bushes? 😊
Thank you for your kind words! I wish we live on a 5-acre rural property. That would be a dream come true. You're absolutely right. Most wild birds are now in the bush enjoying native food. Even at our place, we've noticed the same.

Thank you! Yes, the cockatoos are very cute and smart!👍🙂
👍 #9 Hello my friend, I was watching closely and yes there is one who takes two nibbles at a time... but more impressive is (I think) that the same bird is taking a nibble and then backing up and doing a sneaky pincer movement and getting back in the Q for the next nibble, lol. 👍◕‿◕
Thank you, my friend! That is an interesting observation. Although, it's not the dominant cockatoo, it still manages to get more treats then the others. Smart birdie! Thanks again for your interesting comment!
Uncle Google said that Cockatoos are considered to be very intelligent birds, with some saying they are comparable to chimpanzees in intelligence 😊..your video proved Uncle Google rightly 😀👈..
Very nice video fun to watch you put so much observation and efforts 🫶.
Thank you! That's very kind! Yes, we initially relied on Big Brother Google when we made our first video about cockatoos' intelligence a year ago. Now we have firsthand evidence that proves cockatoos are indeed very smart cookies or cockles, should I say!
Albert =1 beak 2 pellets ×1 trip 😂😂❤❤❤ I am shocked at how intelligent they are..Beautiful video..Very interesting 😳 🥰
Thank you 👍 You can imagine how impressed and joyful I was when I saw what Albert was doing! He must have put a lot of thought to come up with such a plan. 😍🥰 The Albert Einstein of the bird world!
So lovely Birds and their attitudes and behaviors. I really liked the 40 second image of the tree. I love your video and this Birds
Thank you, much appreciated. Yes, this beautiful image of the cockatoo in the tree, I use to explain the story behind the video. I do like it too!
Beautiful birds, so many of them!🙂🙂💙💙🦜🦜🦜🦜
Thank you. Yes, we have so many friendly visitors! 🤗🌈🦜🦜😍🥰
It was interesting to watch the birds and observe their different behavior 😊 👍
Thank you! Yes, they all have different personalities, just like us.
The birds are so beautiful and adorable, thanks for sharing your video
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Much appreciated!
I know a one-palmed cockatoo, and several others, which I dare to hand feed them. They are super smart birds, probably smarter than magpies. Apparently they know me well, and know how to ask for treats.
A nearby neighbour had a pet cockatoo, aged over 30yo, amazing! It can well outlive the owner...
Interesting stories. Thank you for sharing. Cockatoos are very intelligent birds, and they do have ability to recognise and interact with humans.
I think that Albert has strung some thoughts together. I never use the insult 'Bird Brained'! Great video as always, Thanks!
Thanks a lot. Yes, it seems Albert worked the system! Smart cookie, or should I say smart cockie!
Cool! Like from a friend
Thank you, my friend! Cheers!👍🙂

Intelligent indeed
I was really surprised when I noticed what he was doing! He had to work out so many things to come up with this!
Albert is good at math 😊
😂👍 Survival of the smartest! 🙂
Wonderful video 💛🤍👍
Thank you! 👍🙂
Nice video 🥰 Thank you for sharing.👍
Thank you! 🤗
It was very interesting behaviour. For sure Albert is very intelligent 👍
Warm greetings!
Thank you! Yes, Albert has figured out how to get more treats! Very smart birdie!👍🙂
Oh-ho! Well done, Albert!
It *may* be a learned behavior, but if so, it was learned from other cockatoos. There seem to be one or two in most bunches who develop strategies like this, if they're not dominant. You have Albert and the birds who have observed your committment to fairness and decided to trust you to take care of it, like Ms. Odds. At For The Birbs, there's Sandwich-Birb, who is a cockatoo with a love for dried bananas, and has figured out how to make a sandwich of three slices to take away and eat. And there's another one who particularly likes almonds, which I have seen accept an almond from Jim, drop it over the back of the chair, get another one, eat that, and drop down to the ground to eat the first almond.
They're all such clever birds. Some of them are even more so and blow us away when we notice it. What an astounding world. 😊
That is a fascinating observation. Yes, the cockatoos are incredibly intelligent and adaptable birds. As for Albert, he had to figure it out that I hold more pellets, not just one which is visible, then he had to work out that I give a pellet as long as they asked for it. So, in his little brain he concluded that he should ask for two and see how he goes! 😂
So beautiful and fun 🤗🌻🐬🌙★🎃💖☕🌈🎵
Thank you!🤗 🌻🎃🎵🍒🌈🦜🌸

:-)) soooo sweet and very smart ! ;-)) I have a question.....do you have the Cockatoos in your garden ? Don´t they fly away ???? Big like from me and all the best, Karen :-)) 🙋♀🤗🎶🎶
Thank you, Karen. Yes, we have not only cockatoos but also many other birds in our backyard. They're wild birds and come and go as they please.🤗🌈🦜🦜🎵🎶

@@karenmuenchen Thank you, that's so sweet 😍❤
Looks nice too, thanks for the video.
Thank you!
Beautiful birds!
Thank you!. Yes, beautiful and very smart!
How do you know he is not dominant
This cockatoo is not intimidating others. It patiently waits for its turn and moves away after taking treats. None of these behaviors are characteristic of a dominant cockatoo.
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!! 👍🙂
