👍 #9 Hello my good friend, how nice that the Cockatoo will feed from your hand... and it's funny how they hold the food between their toes like they do. So if the female hadn't moved, would the male have attacked her? And I was wondering about the pots and pans in the garden... are they just there to catch or store water for the birds to drink or bathe in? And what eats your small plants etc under the mesh netting? Another fascinating watch my friend and thank you as always.👍◕‿◕

You are right! It's upsetting to see people feeding birds bread and minced meat (without insectivore bird mix).
@@hungrybirds_aus I apologise ,it looked like rolled oats They are not strictly insectivorous but more facultative carnivores
No probs, we get a lot of that! As for the magpies, they have a balanced diet, not only meat but insects, seeds, and even grapes. We've seen them drop a piece of almond just to catch a fatty moth. They especially love juicy white curl grubs, so they often stick around while we're gardening.
@@hungrybirds_aus meats really bad as it really high in phosphorus and low in calcium and it also dirties their beaks
I love these dinosaurs, I get to see my lorikeet friends at the zoo today.

It's Red & White Star Amaryllis. The cockatoos love to eat the shoots, so we had to protect them with a net before flowering. It was such a beautiful day for gardening in Sydney, too. ☀️
