The two yorkeshiremen in the restaurant. There were quite a few who emigrated to New Zealand from the 20's to 50's, and became prevalent in cattle breeding and becoming large farm owners. They never lost their ways, and even in New Zealand in the 2000's their sons and grandsons inherited the family farms, and never lost that base arrogance, especially to service workers. I have seen, with my own eyes, a scene just like in this sketch. The difference being they stood up and threw their plate, food and all, across the restaurant.
Embarrassing the son into escaping from parent sex talk was done on Harry Enfields Kevin the teenager sketch. I’m just trying to work out who stole it from whom
AnastasiaRebkovskaya the black pepper joke is based on the inappropriate treatment that black pepper gets in restaurants. I have been to many restaurants where you get asked if there is anything you would like, and I have been to some restaurants where they will offer you 'black pepper'. They don't have 20 guys wandering around the restaurant with olive oil, parmesan, sea salt, crushed garlic, tomato ketchup... And also it's indiscriminate. They will approach everybody and offer black pepper. You could wear a t-shirt that says 'I don't like black pepper' and he would still offer you. So, the joke is that somehow it's implied that it works with everything, and everybody likes it. But that's not necessarily true. I think I've explained this far too much but still... :)
i ll have the Bad muvva fucka for starters , Royale with cheese , and a tasty beverage ... and i ll finish off with a Nice Religious Sundae with a sprinkling of ammo over he top , just to finish the job. Nah wait, i do that all the time , nah i ll change that dessert to Brain detail and a Good Shit Coffee with the De Wolf Cream with extra sugar.
Can't go wrong with some Hale and Pace.
Pepper DOES make everything taste better...
I always thought Norman pace looked like Des Barnes from Coronation street lol
Black pepper sketch is the one I remember most in series 10 of Hale and Pace.

Hale and Pace did it first. This show came out in the 80s. And I'm sure that Harry Enfield's show came out in the 90s.
2:21 seriously funny, because it was simple and unexpected.
