Holy cow! Just last week I was telling my girlfriends how screening for a relationship is like screening for a job. I did that exactly , and I was successfully! 👍😊

Wonderful! Sarah puts her combination of brilliant thinking and dry humor to good use in this ground-breaking talk. She makes her case for being thoughtful about choosing romantic partners by giving a new understanding of what "thoughtful" can be.
Her basic point is unassailable: that choosing a mate is even more important than choosing a job, and deserves to be treated that way. What makes this talk sparkle, though, is the wonderful juxtaposition of her experience as a "hiring manager" in corporations with her own quirky story of how she and her husband chose each other, 25 years ago.
One example of what I learned from this talk: relationship counselors often talk about "fighting fair," but Sarah goes one step further, by suggesting that what it means to "fight fair" depends on the individual strengths and needs of both members of a couple.
I look forward to listening again; I want to take notes on some of her other excellent points.
If you care about your close relationships, this is a TEDx talk not to be missed!

There is only so much that one cannot possibly know about oneself, and to expect reliable answers from a potential partner is not possible. There will be crises, tragedies, illness, accidents, unexpected responsibilities ( eg. aging or ill parents), etc. that can test, even break good relationships.

What I learned observing marriages - the happiness of it based on choices made before the life. People paring energetically rather then psycho typical...And they often don't know about themselves (if they young), and sometime, they don't want partner knows about them before its too late.....
