The Demo version of "Live Forever" by Oasis recorded in September 1993 at Loco Studios, Newport.
This demo was released on an NME cover cassette called 'Creation For The Nation' give away with the 25th January 1997 issue. A promo-only CD was released as well. The mp3 used here is sourced from that CD.
This demo version of "Live Forever" begins with an acoustic guitar intro. While recording the album version, the record's producer Owen Morris cut out this intro and replaced it with a drumbeat played by Tony McCarroll. Morris further cut a second section in Noel's guitar solo.
Although Gallagher was upset, Morris felt the part had sounded "a bit like f***ing Slash from Guns N' Roses".

Think I speak for everyone when I say the way Liam sings “garden grows” and “morning rain” in the second verse is a guaranteed endorphin release
yeah that was also my intuitive way of thinking about how this verse should ALSO be sung. I really dont understand why he left that way out completely on the album version. It sounds great and adds variety without taking anything away.

Niklas Buck I think what makes this version better is how the original is. we know it's a great rock song and to hear it so beautifully performed makes Live Forever even better overall. The songs just perfect.

The magic truly happened when Paul and Tony were in the band - those 5 guys had something special which no other lineup has managed to capture.
Same way Guns n Roses had the magic when Izzy and Stevie were still part of the package..
If you were lucky enough to see the original lineup oh you witnessed something truly special.
I think Liam, Noel, Bonehead, Guigsy and Andy were a similar level of greatness too.
The falsetto and the guitar solo are absolutely gorgeous in this version

Noel is the brains behind all of it, but Liam is the heart and soul. Noel is proud to be the mastermind, but he's perpetually bitter, because he really wanted to be the heart and soul frontman who gets most of the love.

@@mumbles215 he does let him play them live though so he can't be that bitter and often says Liam is better than him so again not really the words of someone who is bitter....family's are complex and love/hate often exist in equal measure between siblings.....I hope they reform one day even if its just for 1 performance...I mean if the Stone Roses/GNR and Pink Floyd can reform surely Oasis can 🙏

On the C major chord in this version, to get to the D he just slides the shape up two frets just like Johnny Marr would do, find it interesting that in the final version he just plays a straight up standard D shape instead
I find it very hard to play standard D chords for the same reason
