Because I am not a native speaker I can't fully understand the magic behind his bar, but there was certainly a pure joy when I first read the Genius page of the song "Accordion" because every bar was so creative. I felt like he was playing a villain character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure who is able to control the time.

Also Escape from Monsta Island were he uses his King Geedorah persona is great

Wasn't Red and Gold the first King Geedorah track ever?

My first exposure to DOOM was when I was 9 years old listening to Demon Days by Gorillaz, on the "November Has Come" track. I had no idea who he was because the features weren't credited, I just thought he was a member of the band or something. All I knew was that he was the coolest man I'd ever heard. I'm so glad I'd be proven correct once I got into his music in college, Madvillainy and The Mouse and the Mask are two of my favorite hip-hop records ever. RIP DOOM, the world was better with you in it.

I have a vivid memory of listening to Demon Days on my discman on a trip to my grandma's and that track came on, and my mom just said "What the hell are you listening to?" I DUNNO MA IM LIKE EIGHT YEARS OLD
MF DOOM was one of the most influential and impactful rappers of the last 20 years, especially seen in the experimental/abstract hiphop scene today. He was one of the most well-respected rappers all around the community, and he will always be remembered in that way. Rest in peace to the Villain, hopefully something that comes of his passing will be more young people listening to him and understanding his impact.

Listened to MM...Food on the day of his passing and as a man that isn't a huge rap fan (enjoy some artists, but right now that's it) I thought it was fantastic. The lyrics, the flow, the samples, the beats, all of it is amazing on it. Will definitely check out more from MF DOOM,may he rest in peace

i just realized this but in “that’s that” when DOOM says “middle C” right before an explosion, he is referencing middle C’s other way of being written: C4, hence the explosion that follows. i’ve been listening to that song for years and just figured it out 🤦♂️🤯

Does anyone else really love "Bistro"? While it's quite short, it is my favorite track on Madvilliany and I really love the lo-fi melody.
same. i really love the short skits on madvillainy. they're this perfect mix of cinematic, nerdy, cheeky, and anachronistic that are so quintessentially DOOM.
The Atlantic Starr sample is so dreamy and helps to create the perfect vibe with DOOM’s welcoming, as if we’re about to enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience.

My favorite rapper since I heard him on Demon Days in high school. Probably the first rapper I listened to regularly and got me into hip hop, and by extension underground hip hop as a whole. Sad to see such an influential and talented artist go, but he left behind an untouchable legacy and will be remembered as one of the best to ever touch a mic. I'm going to share what is probably my favorite Doom lyric of all time. This one has always stuck out to me, since I first heard it in my freshman year 7 years ago.

It was 2020s final blow...
Fun fact: he went by DOOM because it’s the first syllable of his last name. As an Italian I can attest to the same being done to me with my last name. He was being called DOOM before the analogy to Dr Doom was made
His mum called him DOOM because yes, DUMile. :)
Another fun fact he was a member of the Nuwaubian Nation.
I have always basked in the glory of MF DOOM, especially when he was alive.

My first introduction to DOOM was his verse on November Has Come off of Demon Days when I was 13, right away from the first bar I was hooked. He gave me a love for hip hop along with Kanye and A Tribe Called Quest. Madvilliany showed me what hip hop can be, and for that DOOM’s death hit me more than usual celebrity or artist deaths.
It's definitely pronounced Doo-mi-leh and not Doo-mil, he even pronounces it on doomsday like that otherwise it wouldn't rhyme haha , great video tho

"The best MC with no chain ya ever heard"
I absolutely love his album Born Like This. While it might seem at first like normal DOOM, there’s a lot different from this project to Operation Doomsday or MM... FOOD. Having more guest producers like DILLA!!! And having legends on like Reakwon and Ghostface. And the Ghostface track is so awesome with it’s beautiful production and the stories told completely feel like a 70’s crime show especially with the song being divided in half with each verse. So clever, and well executed.
Although in DOOM's passing I have heard more fans express their enjoyment of it, I feel like The Mouse and the Mask isn't talked about enough and often gets overshadowed by DOOM's more popular projects. I do think it is on a lower level than Madvillainy and MM FOOD, but songs like Sofa King, Benzi Box, The Mask, and Basket Case truly make it one of his most interesting projects for me. R.I.P DOOM
Rest in power MF DOOM 🙏 that was a lovely tribute Oliver

DOOMs influence runs so deep within hip hop. i’m so grateful to have experienced his music, he was one of the artists that got me obsessed with the genre because of how one of a kind he was. a favorite DOOM beat of mine is off Ghostface Killah’s Fishscale album, 9 Milli Bros; he produced a wu-tang posse cut and its FIRE. ONE OF MY FAVOURITE DOOM LYRICS - from "Strange Ways" off of Madvillainy
They pray four times a day, they pray five
Who’s way is strange when it’s time to survive
Some will go of they own free will to die
Others take them with you when they blow sky high
What’s the difference? All you get is lost children
While the bosses sit up behind the desks, it cost billions

DOOM dying , is like a part of my childhood dying. His death literally tore a hole in my heart.

"Ay yo yo y'all can't stand right here
In his right hand was a man's worst nightmare.
Loud enough to burst his right eardrum close range;

I can't think of another time when the death of a notable artist had been confirmed so long after it had happened. It's such a bizarre and tragic shock, and in a way seems fitting to how much of a mystery he was. Some artists like MJ, Lennon, Nujabes, Prince, and Bowie have an almost larger than life identity that makes them seem like they're on another level of existence that isn't our own.
It's like them having passed away just seems right, if that makes sense. DOOM has always had that kind of vibe to me.
He had a great sense of humor. You can really hear it in his song 'Rapp Snitch Knishes'. It's so funny.
Can I Watch? From Vaudeville Villain Is definitely my favourite DOOM deep cut. But I guess his discog is a bit like that of The Fall- they're all deep cuts
