Ahh, child hood memories, can't have any other color it wouldn't be the same, my friends older brother taking us for a ride in it back in 70's I was 15, only difference was a 396 ss.
I saw that cowl open up and I was hooked 4 life.😮👍
My dad had the same color number matching 1970 LS6. It was so awesome riding around in it with him. Then he sold it......damn it dad. He bought a 2006 Peterbilt 379 ex. Hood and went and hauled asphalt in montana for a few summers. Sold the pete........dang it dad. Bought a numbers matching 1969 Camaro with under 9k miles on it. Now he's gonna sell the Camaro.......his car his money his choice. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
Awesome Story, If hes selling the camaro, that might be something wed be interested in. Tell him to check out our website and we might be able to work out a trade :)

I’m 46 and a 70 chevelle has been my dream car since age 8. Every time I get close to a place where I can buy one life happens. Don’t think I’ll ever get it :(
One of the great muscle cars in history. '70 LS6 is an icon.
My 72’ said t’rell you “F” off.
I get you.
But he’s kinda sensitive🤷🏽♂️
🤣🤣
One of,IF not the greatest MuscleCar made. The Cowl Induction made the coolest sound when ya floored it.
Tony does a great job showing all the details of these legendary muscle cars 👍🏼
Mine was identical, green on green. I changed it to black on black, but kept all the green interior. Yes I still have the car. It was my first car, my Dad was the original owner. I drove it to high school, back in 78 and 79. I will never part with, so don't ask. Just wanted to share. That LS6 is truly Awesome, around 140,000 original miles give or take a few at last drive. 👍🇺🇸👍
That is the color combo I want, don't see many with that factory color.
Hopefully by the end of the year I will be buying one.
My all time favorite car.
amazing ls6 chevelle this is a dream car for chevelle lovers like me..
car has susch a torque that tyres whinnn
My brother had a green one with the green interior!!! Loved it!!
I loved the forest green 1970 S/S LS-6 Chevelle 454cubic inch. Awesome, Awesome.
jlpolcat13 I love these old cars they're awesome but what woman would want to ride in one with no air-conditioning they detail so much on these cars but rarely do I see one with air conditioning
@@GrayRealities I just watched two LS6 barn finds and both had A/C.
@@GrayRealities who cares if a woman would like it or not without AC?! These fuckers were made to go balls with walls with mo screaming ass woman in the car!! Just man and machine dude!!!
No LS6s ever came with air conditioning...I shit u not. They had to be LS5s if they was a 454 with a/c
@@GrayRealities Lol!! Who cares if they wanna ride in it or not man!! Just a man and his badass machine!! It's all ya need!!
good honest job explaining it , it is what it is , nice car to the detail !!
i love the green cars from the 70's especially with green interior ... color screams 70's
You drove that thing just right, not too hard but showing the power with those tire chirps!
I absolutely love and respect the Chevelle. I have a 69. I really wish from the factory they came with wider tires though.
I worked w a guy in the mid 70's when I was working on cars; he was a Viet Nam veteran and a Marine. Leon had a black 1970 Chevelle ls6 and it was a bad ass ride. I wonder if he still has this baby??
Never driven an LS6. I would love to make my first run in this green monster!
I had one. 11.5 compression ratio so had to burn av-gas...and got at best 6 miles/gallon. This one actually looks pretty straight. Even has the tach that red-lines at 6500 rpm and the original Winters intake! Looks to be missing the original exhaust resonators and whoever swapped out the alternator didn't save the original oversized pulley. Love to see if the M22 trans had to have the mounting tabs reattached with heli-arc. Never saw one the hadn't had that treatment. Believe me, though. You gotta either be a mechanic or be married to one to own one of these. Solid lifters, constant spark plug failure due to high compression, etc etc.
Agreed. It definitely not a practical car for every day use. You have to be a tinkerer!
The most beautiful car in the world! The most beautiful Dream I will never have. The 1970 Chevelle SS.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
Been to this place up in Rockville MD.Had a z28 with two 4 barrels and chambered exhaust.havent been there for awhile but like any classic car i would have it checked by my mechanic.
Sweet Chevelle! My brother had a 68 SS 396, But I'm surprised how much some people will pay for a classic car with dinosaur technology! People like to live in the past for various reasons! Too bad cars back then didn't have all the tech stuff we have today like keyless remote start, quad overhead cams, etc.
loving the square tail chevelle
Some great comments, but also very ignorant ones.
This has to be one of the rarest color combos for a 70 chevelle.
My friends brother had one back in 70s when I was 15, it was an ss 396 though.
And I've wanted one this exact color ever since.
This is only the second one I've seen in that color since.
My dream car.
Yes, and I have a 72 with forest green with black interrior. going to take a ride today
that LS6 is a vehicle every muscle car lover dreams about owning.....the test drive OMG!!!!!.....The car so powerful it was spinning through the gears.....MAN O MAN!!!!!
Style-wise, I prefer the 1970 over the 1971, because I thing the twin headlights give it a better looks.
watchman on the wall I agree with you. The 1970 Chevelle quad headlights and rectangular taillights looks better than the 1971 Chevelle single headlights and quad taillights. I prefer the 1970 Chevelle over the 1971 the Chevelle.
Not to mention that it was muscle car of the year in 1970 and the last year before the new emissions crap that the 71 got...
I have a 72 forest green with black interrior chevelle,, I agree about the front headlights, but the round taillights look so much better and you will only see them anyway, lol
This guy knows how to advertise , great job.
Yea Oh Tony the hit man. Hits it outta the park when he describes the car!! Good job Tony!!
Looks nice. Most are far from original when you really get into the details.
DAMM...my dream car had one when i was a kid i sure miss it...
I always love the S S series ,beautiful muscles
Deep green how beautiful
Just perfect I love it!!!!!!!
I wish I still had the LS6 I took to college. Same car as this but different color.
I need to hit the lottery ..lol
i need to be owner of exxon mobil
This was GM ultimate secret weapon in GMs inventory at the time especially when GM lifted the cubic inch limit to the engines place in intermediate cars what a blast
Awesome! your video's are great Tony..
Love those 70 chevys
wow amazing car !
Man that car is so sweet id put some fatter tires on the rear to give it that awesome stance I wish I had it
beautiful
A super nice 👍..old school Iconic Muscles Car.. love it seeing them surfacing again..let's keep saying them..!!
Now that's the car, to many red ones. Green on green was alsome don't changethe interior!
Yes, I have a 72 forest green with black interrior, all the bells and whistles , but it's automatic.
@@georgespangler1517 Still a cool ass car that you have!! Hang on to it!!
This was a no nonsense muscle car no cheesy cartoon graphics no bull this car was just a get down to business Muscle car it blew anything on the street it even had the hemi giving it a good run for its money
There's supposed to be a solenoid in place to keep that flapper door down when the ignition is off
I am pretty sure the solenoid is vacum activated, therefore if the vehicle is not running it would not stay closed!
yea it is only closed during idle and low RPM. When not running it stays open and of course when u floor it ( activated by thel switch on the pedal that controls the vacuum solenoid under the hood)
@@myassizitchy yes exactly. Vacuum keeps it shut. When you open up all 4 barrels, that flap flies open.
They were every where when I was 14 in 1970. The thing I remember the most was the smell of Denise on my finger..
Absolutely beautiful. Wow. Just wow.
The Champ is here!
Another beautiful car. I love watching you sell your cars. Excellent job !
Beautiful Beast...12-1 compression ratio?
11.5:1
So sweet!!!
Very nice!
Looks like a big dealer.Do you think their crooked?
20+ years ago, I had a nice but frankenstein '66 Malibu 327. It was really beautiful, not exactly fast, but very nice and straight. A guy at the shop where I got it inspected wanted to trade me straight up for his '70 Chevelle SS LS6, black stripes on yellow, a Texas car. Like a dumbass, I said no.
Hi, Wes. I hear this kind of story all the time. There is nothing wrong with that. TBH, I like the 66's more than the 70's. 69's are my favorite though. I think back then, having one of these, was like having a Toyota Corolla now. Oh well, lol
Hey Hector - I think the word that applies here is PERSPECTIVE. That Corolla anology is an apt one. And absolutely, in those days, there were no Mecum auctions online where some commodities broker from Singapore was dropping $250,000 online on a restored Hemi Cuda. These cars were more in our reach back then! A side note - I see my old Chevelle from time to time. A subsequent owner put in a built 454 and ditched the Cragar SSTs for some proper Super Sport rally wheels. Maybe I'll buy it back soneday...
Did I hear you chirp 2nd and 3rd?! You were hardly even getting on it! It's a beautiful car
This is when cars were made
I'm in love. my dream car
do you still have this car,if so,I have a huge favor to ask, could you please have it dyno tested,I will gladly pay for it,I have always wanted to know the true horsepower rating, the 450 rating was for insurance reasons.
Get a life tool bag
Bob Darney thank you
This.idiot actually think that.motors.never been into. Either way it's not EXACTLY as it was factory. Chevrolet Dyno testing the LS6 with no extra components in late 69 and they was between 495 and 500 hp. That was at the flywheel tho. But rwhp would be a good bit less I never saw anything about that tho. I have the article on it from Chevrolet back then
Holy fuck I'm in love
My Unicorn . My dream, my love ss454. 😍😍😍
What is it with this unicorn car?!!! It's a rare car. Is that what ya mean??!!
Shelby.. I am just learning about how to communicate using Facebook. Sorry to have bothered you again, about this Chevy. So, my girlfriend had this car in 1969.. She drove this car, pedal to the metal, until the levee was dry. Then she said, "Let's see the show at the drive-in theatre and eat some popcorn." Ben Hur was playing. After 2 hours of trying to watch Ben Hur, she said let's have sex.. So, we jumped into the back seat...and the Chevy shook violently during the chariot racing scene. At 2 AM, the drive-in attendant was pounding violently on her Chevy windows.. He said "Please leave the premises, the movie is over, or else you will be arrested taken to jail. "
Nice
sweet
1980s..same car across the road up on hill..my dads cousins chevelle..I remember leaving for college..I asked my dad and beaver can I buy it after college..beaver said yes..graduated in 1993..car gone..beaver sold t for 1200.00 bucks..he was original owner..he parked it bc in 70s he couldn't afford to drive it then in 80s floor boards starting rotting
Chevelles are smooth drivers. I like them vs. Camaros.
I wouldn’t complain if l had one with an L-78 396

There is something about the rumble of a 454cid LS6 Big-Block!
2nd gear chirp...music to my ears.
That are accounted for
No way I would want white interior. Black.
Well I have a 70 Cranberry Red with black stripes SS 396 350hp 4sp Chevelle with white interior with black dash etc. Wide Oval Tires and the white interior makes that car Pop! Would not be the same car without it and I would take the white with the green also. You have to experience it for awhile and you'll know.
haw much the price will be?? i
You're a few years late... It has been sold for
$69,999
Wrong the Challenger ta has Hood pins
Why would any thinking person wonder about gas mileage when when your the proud owner of an LS6?
WITH SUNOCO 240 OR 260 AT 35-39 CENTS A GAL....MPG=6 MPG WHEN SERIOUS
@@kirkmarthia9595 I hear ya Kirk! I grew up in the 60's and 70s & my Dad owned a Sunoco gas station!! 190(economy regular) all the up to 260. Custom blended grades in between! Ahhh great childhood memories!
About 3800 exist
If you look up muscle car in the dictionary there's a picture of this car. Nice!

i wonder if they made a blue chevelle with red interior & white stripes ;)~
No. Red interior stopped in 70 but blue cars would only have white or black int
Yuck!!!
LS6 vs Hemi
Which one has the most horsepower? 450 vs 425. Of course we all know both of them were underrated. Dragstrip vs top end.
If you're into originality, sure, but personally I would do away with those little tires and get some 315's in the back. Desperate need of a mean stance.
HELLO
We didn't call them flappers in 1970
American muscle ....
are you serious ??! :W
I also need a lot of money... This Chevelle is a gem!
Send Patrick Glenn Nichols to verify everything
Test drive, what test drive? Sitting in the car revving the motor does not constitute a test drive. Nor does 5 seconds of video showing it rolling down the street.
It's funny to hear someone describe the car with little knowledge of that gem.
the paint stripes look off..Alot of "one off" aftermarket parts... of course we know now days, the aftermarket parts are closer to what the originals are suppose to be... the presenter either was ignorant or purposely glossed over the incorrect details of the car, hoping for a tidy profit... but, yes, its a nice car...if you want aftermarket.
I don't know much about the old cars. Since this one is green was this an early hy-bred & if so what kind of gas mileage does it get? Love your channel, but do you ever review a newer hi-breed? Thanks
What tha fuck are u talking about a hybrid and watching a chevelle video
Not a fan of the color. My first car was a '70 Chelleve (mist green) with same color interior as this. I promptly switched it over to black.
If this car in vid was originally black on black?...people would pay $20,000 more for it....even though that's a rare color combo from factory
Yuck lol
To each his own I guess... I had this exact same car when I was 16, but 396. With the factory green interior. The deep dark green interior was bad azz in my opinion.
Too many black muscle cars!! The dark green looks totally unassuming! I like the hell outta of it.
