I come back to this video often.great jam gentlemen.Wes Montgomery is my favorite guitar player and the way Lemmo incorporated his playing into the jam is fkn awesome..keep rockin’
Not only is Michael Lemo is a great guitarist, but he is a very nice person. I met him when I visited Norm's for the first time last November. Great guy.
Jared Nichols is inspiring. It is amazing the tonal variations he produces just by using his fingers and manipulating the tone and volume knobs. Mr. Lemmo is no joke either! What a jam session!
I dont get tired of watching this video… or alot of other NRG videos. Thank you Lemmo for not only holding ur own, on your own, but also with whoever may be jamming with you..
I just notice that every time he solos he needs gain not just to be louder but for sustain I guess. The other player did not need that because his fingers did it. Just saying.
Which I always thought would make a GREAT intro for a gaudy ass talk show with a name like "THE JOE BLANAHAN SHOW". Play it and say "It' TIME for.....THE JOE BLANAHAN SHOW, STARRING..JOE BLANAHAN....with his CO HOST: HUGH KEAGY!......and special guest! JOHN DENVER! and MUSICAL GUEST! GORDON LIGHTFOOT!" It's perfect for it.
JJ is just playing pentatonics but the phrasing and touch and variety is just incredible. I come back to this video a lot. Great seeing Lemmo play a custom as well. Nice contrast in the natural guitar sounds here. I'll take both! ha!
........wow......took me back....way back. thanks abundantly for carrying on such a great jam session. i’m blown away with the maturity of your playing. guitar dignity lives on
Good Lord, you two are really great together. I'm always pleasantly surprised at how really great guitar players give each other time and space to really go off in these jams. Awesome job!
Saw him open for Fozzy in Toronto. I was blown away!! He is a beast playing live. So much feel in his playing that it draws you in. As a bonus I got a chatted briefly with him, and got a signed CD. His CD is great but in all honesty live is the way to experience JJN!
It's not that less is more. You gotta know where the notes land and give them space! Jared was not slow in this jam he was going back and forth like jazz players responding to each other.
Great jam. Two very different styles that complemented very well. I don’t think that LP Jr has been manhandled like that in quite a while. The low E couldn’t handle the rock.
That was an entransic jam. You got a really soulful yet technical style blending into a technically sound hard rock style. Yet another magical performance at Norman's Rare Guitars. What an awesome and awe inspiring place. Wow!!
Frikkin' outstanding, one of those rare times when you're browsing for a new guitar or maybe just browsing for the fun of it - and then this happens :D
Awesome playing guys. You have that total blues groove with one guitar accenting and augmenting the other back and forth. Damn these young guys are good. I have a friend whose son is 11 that can sound sort of a like a young SRV- unreal.
Michael Lemmo is pure creativity and silky tones ! No rush, no overplaying, just a fine guitarist ! Congrats Michael !
That made me go practice
112th like!
Really though lmao
Wow,this comment was made a year ago...and it STILL makes me wanna go practice, too bad I'm off to wrk!
I'm a guitar fiddler and I'm Liking this comment for THE ANTAGONIST cuz he was right 8 Mos ago and still is.
Hell yeah
This is an absolute high of players playing. It’s just so good.
I come back to this video often.great jam gentlemen.Wes Montgomery is my favorite guitar player and the way Lemmo incorporated his playing into the jam is fkn awesome..keep rockin’
I keep coming back to this video after many years. Best bad-ass vibes since Darryl Dimebag
This jam session makes me smile every time I view it which has been about 2 dozen times so far.
Anytime I see Michael Lemmo in the title I know it's going to be great.
I’m the same when it JJN in the title
I've been going through the tube just trying to find him play his got unbelievable talent
Whenever I don't feel like playing guitar, this is my go to video to immediately want to pick it up again.
Norman, genius move having Michael Lemmo move over to the guitar of the day series. Really enjoy Lemmo’s playing!!
This is the best jam I've seen on this channel by far. Two great dynamic players that can really play off each other, super cool.
Totally agree there mate, was just about to write the same thing but you beat me to it! Fkin Fantastic playing
this channel?? You mean any channel...fabulous!!
Michael Ruiz agreed
You have good taste! Michael Lemmo opened with Wes Montgomery's Bumpin on Sunset
The dynamics in the song sections between these two great musicians is too good!
That tremelo strumming by Jared is amazing. He is such a raw and powerful player. Love it.
Best jam in the last two years on this channel! Loved it! Thanks to all...
What chord progression is that?
I dont get tired of watching this video… or alot of other NRG videos. Thank you Lemmo for not only holding ur own, on your own, but also with whoever may be jamming with you..
I could listen to that all day!!
Jeezus. I knew JJN could play but never heard him play like this. Wow.
Jared James Nichols is a BEAST!
I just notice that every time he solos he needs gain not just to be louder but for sustain I guess. The other player did not need that because his fingers did it. Just saying.
#1 OF THE TWO , WOW HATS OFF , ALFRED NYC / PR .
Michael channeling some Wes Montgomery at 1:20 "Bumpin' on Sunset"
Which I always thought would make a GREAT intro for a gaudy ass talk show with a name like "THE JOE BLANAHAN SHOW". Play it and say "It' TIME for.....THE JOE BLANAHAN SHOW, STARRING..JOE BLANAHAN....with his CO HOST: HUGH KEAGY!......and special guest! JOHN DENVER! and MUSICAL GUEST! GORDON LIGHTFOOT!" It's perfect for it.
Favorite part!
Been returning to this jam maaany times since I first saw it, SO GOOD still, probably my fav of all time.
I come back once every year and im always blessed that I found this gem.
Two masters at play. Love it!
Wow indeed...fantastic jam, fantastic players..!
JJ is just playing pentatonics but the phrasing and touch and variety is just incredible. I come back to this video a lot. Great seeing Lemmo play a custom as well. Nice contrast in the natural guitar sounds here. I'll take both! ha!
Jared James Nichols, never heard of you but you have amazing skills.
Nice, tasteful playing. I love it! I'll be back to watch this every now and then.
........wow......took me back....way back. thanks abundantly for carrying on such a great jam session. i’m blown away with the maturity of your playing. guitar dignity lives on
Stunning tone and great playing from both of you guys!
My favorite jam quite possibly ever 🤩
Gawd! This was Baaad Azzz! I could listen to this Duo like, Permanently! LOL
that's gotta be the best jam I have ever seen.
Good Lord, you two are really great together. I'm always pleasantly surprised at how really great guitar players give each other time and space to really go off in these jams. Awesome job!
Jared is an animal.....quickly became one of my favorite guitarists when I heard found out about him from the Fretted Americana vids he did
Jamie Stewart yes, same
Agree, same here
Same. Dude got the feels
Saw him open for Fozzy in Toronto. I was blown away!! He is a beast playing live. So much feel in his playing that it draws you in.
As a bonus I got a chatted briefly with him, and got a signed CD. His CD is great but in all honesty live is the way to experience JJN!
That custom could follow me home.
Some tasty playing Jared!
The right amount of notes in all the right places.
Proof that less is more.
So true, you can't practice taste sir
Tasty playing Michael!
It's not that less is more. You gotta know where the notes land and give them space! Jared was not slow in this jam he was going back and forth like jazz players responding to each other.
4:35 that is disgusting
fucking disgusting omg i am gonna puke it's so good
Honestly been watching for years and that was the best playing I've seen. Insane
Cool. Went to college with JJN. Glad to see him shining!
Jared James Nichols is on fire! And Michael killing it too!
Two masters on two beautiful Les Pauls! Does it get any better? Thanks Lemmo, thanks Jared! Awesome video Jen! Glad I saw it!
What a pleasure to listen to these two muscian/composers....
Jared's one of my favorite players and Lemmo sounded great on this.....killer!
That note at 1:58 reminds me of “strange brew” by cream.
Reminded me of a Mike Campbell lick too.
Reminds me of born under a bad sign but however its very common to start solos on the root
Same vibes
jared and lemmo rock the house very nice ty
saw Jared on my favorite riff with Nikki Sixx was way cool guy and great player.
Great jam. Two very different styles that complemented very well. I don’t think that LP Jr has been manhandled like that in quite a while. The low E couldn’t handle the rock.
Brian Timbers I have only seen the late Gary Moore play so dynamically with a LP junior, he also played with alot more volume as well!
WOW what killer players these guys are. MORE PLEASE. Thanks guys!!!
Outstanding video. This has got to be in the Top 5 for videos from you guys. Loved it.
That was an entransic jam. You got a really soulful yet technical style blending into a technically sound hard rock style. Yet another magical performance at Norman's Rare Guitars. What an awesome and awe inspiring place. Wow!!
Beautiful. This was a fresh breath of air.
He's right they both are killing it! Maybe one day!
That '87 is just dreamy. What an instrument!
Greatness caught on camera. Sometimes it just comes together like that. But not often.
Great playing! They have such different styles but sound fabulous together.👍👍
Love the sting of that P90 pup on the LP Jr. Nice use of varied tones as well. It's all in the fingers. Having a good tool certainly helps.
Lemmo is very inspiring man...
Very thankful I just watched this. Amazing!
Happy birthday 🎂 🎂 🎂 To you again thank u so much you have an
Awesome place
I love everything about your music forever your awesome legends 💯♥️🤘🎸
This was fun! Great playing guys - loved the variation in styles and sound from your techniques and gats/amps - really magic thanks! I enjoyed! Mint!

Jjn is a bad ass on that l.p. Jr. Great job. lemmo does great as well on that beautiful custom
those licks of lemo starting at 4:15 gave me goosepumps really nice
You missed the best part.
this is one of the best for me, tks
That was so good my brother. Love to play with you.
Boy that is hypnotic!
Lemmo was getting funky with that vibrato tho, i see you micheal. He stepped up this jam for sure
"It's not just hot licks, I have to mind this hair", said NIckols. A true rock guitarist.
Out of this world.... Wow.
A marriage of talents for a few minutes. Luv it.
Frikkin' outstanding, one of those rare times when you're browsing for a new guitar or maybe just browsing for the fun of it - and then this happens :D
Dude on the left is really talented and makes some great 'I'm in pain woof da blues' faces.
Lemmo is so damn good it’s ridiculous!
Very nice octaves, Michael! And as well, great lead over top of those nice chords, Jared.....
Wow, just wow!
Wow. Killer, just super freaking fantastic. Thanks !
i want that lp, that michael is playing. it's so cool and my opinion. it sounds fantastic
How anyone can give this a thumbs down? Is just nuts!
Jared is absolutely a great player, I also like Lemmo's ideas very much. Both created unique atmosphere
Awesome playing guys. You have that total blues groove with one guitar accenting and augmenting the other back and forth. Damn these young guys are good. I have a friend whose son is 11 that can sound sort of a like a young SRV- unreal.
incredible
