I shall be following this series with interest. Love how you have based them for a small table, very cost effective too. A full army for £30, that is great.
Awesome video man! I will have to look into getting some extras to bulk out my 100x50 bases. That Dwarf king on the command stand looks pretty cool. I might have to do a video showing off the dice and mdf frames along with the cool mdf tokens that I picked up when I ordered my stuff because I splurged on accessories too.
Yes! It would be great to see some more videos up, especially progressing through your army build and learning the game! I forgot to mention the dice on the bases! Arg! I'll include that in my next one. I went with dice off the base because of space, that should be something to note.
Always meant to try out the larger scale battles you can do with smaller scale armies. The idea of shrinking the bases for a smaller table is a great one, too. I've a 4x3 table to do for Saga, which would be great for this. More food for thought. Aaargh! ;o)
Heh, if you've got the table, WHY NOT pick up a new game that works well for it? ;) I am hoping to one day field REALLY big battles with REALLY tiny soldiers. Like 6mm. I've been watching a lot of Total War: Warhammer videos and would love to play large battles like that on the tabletop.
Great intro to Warband. I'm tempted to grab an Undead army and Goblins army. Gonna grab the rule book first and have a look. Did you get it through Pendraken or did you go down to Meeplemart? Also, because you've changed your base sizes do you have to change any of the ranges? I'm also in the "don't have a 6x4 table" group and tend to play games that fit within a 2x2 - 3x3 size. Quar, War of Ashes, Twilight, Relic Blade, Saga, Muskets & Tomahawks, &c.
Oh, I've got some Quar militia painted up, I love those models! I want more. And to try one of the games. Anyways, I got my initial rulebook from DriveThru. Then the real book and all my minis (except the High Elf dragons) from Pendraken. Bases are Minibits, also from Pendraken. All measurements are in Base Widths, so depending on how you measure, you'll just have to easily factor that in.
Oh great, didn't know they had a PDF version. Just picked that up. Woot! Yeah, I love Quar stuff. I've got a Fidwog army and a Partisan/Militia army. They just released a new rulebook (free pdf) as well. Thanks again for doing a primer on Warband. I like seeing these smaller titles get more RUclips coverage.
+Derek Kinsman oh good call! It's a great price for the PDF. Let me know when you'd like a demo game! I've got my third army almost ready. Ah, I'll check out the Quar stuff, too. For sure! I hope this game garners the respect it deserves.

Even at full scale (100x50) it is a great deal. Scaling down a bit works even better.
More content REAL soon!
Great vid, really informative.
It did not occur to me that it was designed to be played on a 6*4 table.
I believe the board is supposed to be 18x12 base widths, which comes out to about 6x4, when played with 100x50 bases.

Nice start to the series Justin sounds very cool looking forward to seeing more!
Thanks a lot. I hope the series will drum up interest in this really worthwhile game.
Good advice there mate
Thanks! Hopefully it offers some insight into the choices for this game.

Thanks! I was looking for a replacement for Warmaster!
Forgot to ask where you got the smaller bases?
Yes they look awesome. Love to try a game out like this one day :D
I hope you can. Until then, enjoy the videos!
