I can easily take a game off you for sure. You just need to test your double fault strategy on all points against me. Seriously, nice playing man. Your mental toughness is impressive stuff. Did he throw some huge 2nd serve kickers? A few looked like they jumped quite high.
Anyone when they have to play Simon - 13:25 Dude, what a titanic performance by you. He had a lot of weapons and you neutralized them so effectively, it's very obvious that you're a cognitive player and you adjust to the situation so well. Looking forward to more wins! (P.S. that was an absolute volley masterclass at 14:42)
Congrats Simon! I love how you term your win as "we". The fact is that "you" are the biggest contributor here, and we're super happy for you. What an amazing performance. You have incredible speed and agility that is probably at least 60% factor in your amazing overall performance. Wishing you the best my friend. M
Thanks a lot Munditimum!! Maybe I'm the guy playing but it's surely a journey we're on together. Everyone in the comments give me so much tips and feedback, that you're all surely a big part of the progress we're making, and hopefully will make together!
Congratulations, Simon. Good job getting back on your horse after the rocky start of the second set! Your forehand approach shots and net play looked really strong. Those short angle crosscourt slices that he hit are so tough to handle, and you did very well with them. You should be proud!
Congratulations Simon. It's always a pleasure watching you glide almost effortlessly through a match, like this one. The commentary is spot-on, too. Cheers for the "W"!
Congratulations on your success! You're obviously a fast player but I'm most impressed with your balance. You almost appear to float around the court, even when you're on total defense. It's absolutely amazing!
Hard to not notice you changed at least the paintjob from the Wilson Blade v7 you were using before this tournament. Mind giving us a hint off what's that new slick looking racquet?
I actually played with a very used v7 here, but it was so used that I painted over it because it was annoying me how messed up the frame was haha 😅 so nothing special about the racquets tbh, just me trying to hide how old and broken they were haha
Congrats Simon - excellent result and you played super solid. He had a nasty, super-solid backhand slice - basically a dude full of traps for opponents to walk into. Rock on
@@Simon.Freund Great stuff and appreciate the reply mate. Question for you - do you have a specific mental thought you try to remember, when trying to get into the 'zone' during points? I have a few, and it definitely helps - just curious if you have some inner mantras that you find work. eg: 'be a wall' or others.
Great win Simon and I loved the variety of play in the match! Great to see good all court play from players. I hope you allow yourself a little celebration😁🍾

On the come up for sure, cant wait to see what you can do in the next few years. So much to be excited for. Thanks for the inspiration to focus on consistency and not flat forehands too lol.
Congratulations 🏆🎾. 4 matches in a row must feel good and help with your confidence. I'd say the final was a good test of movement and footwork. Recovery time!!!! Then some solid training on the fundamentals. Especially the kick serve. Let's go!!! 🥦
These match videos are very enjoyable. Commentary adds a lot, and I am trying to use your self-analysis to improve my own game. Thanks and wish you continued success.
Thank you very much for the support and comment! Glad to hear you can implement some of the stuff to your game, I’ll keep trying to improve my commentary 😃
I also implement the double fault strategy to increase my mental toughness during games... unintentionally. Your game looks great. If you notice, when you hit deep with pace, your opponent is rushed and slows his racquet down and hits it into the net. Depth kills. It's how Djokovic is so good, every one of his groundstrokes is deep. Do it on the majority of your forehands and we'll be seeing you on TV. Congrats on the win!
Congratulations! Your opponent is indeed a tricky player. Most high level junior player would have hard time against him. But you are too solid for him to handle. Solid returns again! Will see you on TV in the near future for sure!
Thanks!!! I actually switched back to my old Wilson Blade 16x19 for this tournament 😅 kinda felt like I didn’t grip the ball with my new 18x20… it’s blacked out since it’s so old that it’s all worn out and it was bothering me a bit haha… need to get some new sticks
