How to Repot a Tree (or) How to Plant a Tree
In this video I show you how to repot an American Elm Tree that naturally planted itself in an abandoned pot in my neighbor's yard. I go through the process of preparing the roots and the pot to stimulate future growth and talk about the next stages for a pot grown tree.
Many years ago, the American Elm tree was all but decimated in the United States due to Dutch Elm Disease. Now, generations later, the mighty elm is making a comeback. Here at the Barefoot Bonsai Ranch, our goal is to aid in the return of this majestic native tree. To that aim, we focus on education in gardening and horticulture to encourage future generations to care for their native habitat and to continue the rewarding work of growing great things while also growing closer God's beautiful creation.

Are you going to Bonsai one of these ?. I have 3 at my Father's place im waiting for them to go dormant to collect. And possibly Bonsai. I'm in mid west zone 5

I’ve thought about it. I might hack down the smaller one this spring and see what happens.

Why don’t you soak it? It would come out easily

When the soil is so porous like this, soaking removes it all which is not what you want.
