As an outsider who was considering the SBC I soon looked elsewhere when I saw the amount of infighting. That coupled with the trend towards Calvinism I soon gave up and looked elsewhere.
I would encourage you to consider it based on beliefs rather than some who claim to follow those beliefs and then don’t. I go over our beliefs in a playlist on my channel. I hope you can check it out.
@@PastorScottIngram Thanks for the reply. I’ll check that out. Sadly the only SBC congregation near me trends Calvinist. I currently have my eye on a church that is part of converge formerly the Baptist general conference. Their roots are in Swedish pietism. I do have a few IFB options but I don’t hold to KJV only and am not so militant when comes to pre trib dispensationalism.

Thank you for sharing the Baptist thoughts and ways the worship God through the Word of God. I use to be a Baptist and as soon as I found out it did not follow the Word of God I soon left it and followed Christ and His truth and instructions His true disciples in the NT followed. The Baptist followed many of the Roman Emperors pagans beliefs about Christmas and Easter. The Baptist follow some truth of God but not the whole truth of God. This is why many have quit following man-made organized religion today but that does not mean they do not follow God that means they do not follow man-made religions. Him being our Lord means He is who we follow. Faith in Christ means faith in all He is and gives not just plan faith. Jesus came with grace and truth you can't have grace without His truth and you can't have truth without His grace. Many today are living in deception thinking they know Him and are following Him but like you said, His Spirit and Word is our witness.

God took me deep into His Word through His Spirit and revealed the man-made traditions and ways many organized churches follow today. It was not only the Baptist denomination He revealed the man-made religions people have been following for centuries. They quit following Him a long time ago and wonder why He is not working in and through them as He did the first disciples. He took me back and History and revealed how many followed others and left His whole truth of who He is His Word proclaims. Jesus being the Word of God and the truth of God we are all suppose to follow through His Spirit of truth but many truly do not, but say they do. It was a time of great spiritual awakening it was not a bad experience but a Holy truthful experience I will always embrace!

V. Gods Grace when it comes to election needs to be challenged. It makes no sense

Aka, don't stop going to Church. Calling it "organized religion" doesn't give you a reason to abandon the Body.
