I see a movement of people turning toward a more simplistic natural way of life. We are realizing that once one's needs are meant, the rest is just excess that acts as an anchor and weighs us down. I just finished college and I'll be making good money in a tech career. I told myself I'd by a house but now I am reconsidering.
The truth is that no one is safe without having good instincts. If a location seems right, it most likely will be safe. But if a location seems wrong & a person ignores that first "gut" feeling...they will become the prey for predators looking for unconnected people. Always listen to your first instinct in order to survive!
I don't think it necessarily is lonely. You can have friends tag along with you for periods of time, or you could visit friends on a weekly basis if you wanted or if you have friends around the county you're in. And of course you can meet many people and become friends with them along the way. I think its lonely if you make it lonely. It doesn't have to be that way if you choose so.
Lovely, nice too se what you have done. I bought a van last year, uninsulated but decorated it and went down to Spain. me and my dog but it was too cold. Now I'm home again in Sweden and plan the next trip in 2 years with a better car. Fun to see that youngsters get away from the gray everyday life. I'm 56 years old and have done many crazy things in my life. but driving around with my dog in europe is my highest wish now. I will follow you. Have a nice life.
Another video coming in from the beautiful country of Spain. I hope you enjoyed this week's episode. Sorry it was late. It took me 3 days to upload it. We are working on figuring out our connectivity issues and should be able to be more consistent in the future. Keep an eye out and turn on those notifications so that you don't miss an episode and if you haven't seen it yet check out the travel series on this channel! Look under playlist. What in this build stood out to you? I like the slide out kitchen seems like a lot of counter space.
Dylan Magaster I leave in by Downtown Miami. Me & my 14year old son been watching your videos for the past two month's. And we are so exited to build a tiny house for living purpose, we even desingned 8.1/2f×30wf×13h structure allready. I appreciate you can contact me, thank you😊
Yes! I finally realised my life’s dream last year and adopted a dog. He’s a big fella and I had really severe agoraphobia and had barely left the house for 3 years. Finally I feel safe and I go out almost every single day, big walks and hikes in the wilderness. He lets me know when there are people around and he deters any dodgy behaviour. It’s wonderful.
Oh we follow her on Instagram and we chatted she mentioned you guys met up n did a vantour video of Vanilla. She's thinking about starting a RUclips channel. She totally should.
What a lovely van! I do like your dream catchers. I make things as well, creativity is most needed in my life. I am not living in a van and my medical needs may not allow me to be a permanent resident in a van but I can most certainly do mini trips! I have an Astro that I am wanting to make semi-camperized. I have dogs, smaller dogs and they travel well. I am trying to find plans I like but I am leaning towards bed in the back and counter with sink and fridge beneath it along the side behind the driver's seat. That is all I have going on so far. It's all in my head yet. :) Thanks for sharing your great adventures with us. Glad I found you now.
MsSoozy I can’t wait for you to go out exploring! The world awaits you and your pups. I wish you the best memories in the making. Be well, Ma’iingankwe
I am inspired by the van build and the builder! Thank you for your words of encouragement. The headlamp on the headrest is such simple Genius!! I’ve never seen it done before! Great idea. Cheers to your happy travels!
Europe is different, 'so take yourself time 'to adopt and not adopt', and have a break before you may have or face an overdose of europe which could spoil you're being here in europe.' And one of the main reasons why Europe may be different is because all the people here have their social security and a health insurance. So this may make europeans sometimes seem to be 'slower and less avtive' - at least compared to some Anglo-Saxon people? Anyway.
I am definitely doing this one day, maybe 6mos in a year coz I own a house and still enjoy the comfort of a real house. Greetings from L.A. Enjoy your adventures! 😘
I love this.simple life and exciting.enjoy enjoy.i wish i did enjoy back then but i hv children now and priorities change and being in africa i have to really choose.
Here I am watching this on RUclips - another happy person living the Van Life as I rot away in this superficial city with no happiness. Debt that I will never pay for - working all the time - I’m ready for change. Thank you for sharing this remarkable story.
Get out there and Do it. I sold my house full shit and now travel around F.T. living the dream. Only doing it single has been incredibly Lonely BUT I have met some awesome people in the South& West. Watch the videos & get inspiration.Try it.🇺🇸
Every object behind the front seats becomes lethal in a car crash. I'm amazed how little is done toward safety in diy builds and also for serial camper vehicles. It's like travelers don't pay attention, so the developers don't need to improve safety. I wouldn't go without an original steel cabin separation wall, but that's just me... Wish you many safe kilometers.
Great build! Seems to me that if you put a ladder rack on, and maybe a piece of PVC (perhaps a solar shower) on a side or both (or anything really), that you then could put solar up top, and it wouldn't be noticable. Happy, and safe travels!
I found the comment when you said one day if there is two people I will make the wardrobe bigger ... that’s how I feel to I have built my van for two but right now there’s just me ... god bless you I start my Europe journey in March 2019
i just watched the video and when they said peace and waved, i waved back.. its silly, i felt like they can see me. (thanks for another great video, Dylan. keep 'em coming.) (Thanks for sharing your story, Vicki. Enjoy the journey!)
OMG how cute is that? Thank you. But yes. I'm not 100% solo travelling anymore, but I still think the title is not wrong. I'll be out travelling alone a lot before we leave together and was travelling solo for almost one year
very useful information. As far as the safety issue goes (aside from using your instincts) remember most violence against women is done by people they know, in their homes.
That's not necessarily true of people without homes, that is for people with stable lives. Ask homeless women who they have been attacked by, the majority of them will not say "my friends" it will be some opportunistic attacker who saw a person with all their possessions and no home. That is mainly why it's more dangerous, but I don't buy the "all women should be afraid" bullshit that stops women from doing anything alone. It's mostly men giving advice, too.
I never thought about cork for insulation. That maybe a cheaper solution for me plus I would like to put up a map like her and put a push pin of all the places I’ve traveled.
Does anyone know of another video that has a outdoor kitchen like in this video, but with a demonstration of its use? And if Vicki of this video would like to make one, if she hasn't already, I'd love to see it?
"I have a mirror... Which is always dirty because I never look in it" Wow. If van life makes you that confident, count me in! (Jk, can't do that right now 😂)
Cool!!!💫👍 VANILLA ICE CREAM🍧. MMM,.. GO GIRL!!! 😂Injoy all the trips safe and have fun. This lady has a MERCEDES SPRINTER. I Just bold her From may 2018 till no. I will soon post about savety on the road. but you're totally right.
Absolutely true!
The buddy system is always best - two people are better then one! Plus a mean dog!!
This girl is great person.
Very sensed , logic and inspired.
aaaw don't make me blush!
great job !
I envy the van dwellers... Life seems so simple... But in a good way...
Van life is so interesting however it could be a very lonely life. It takes a special kind of person to do this alone.
I like to be alone.
I would do anything to live alone, humans stress me out
You're not alone if you have a dog.
Lovely, nice too se what you have done.

she insulated her van.
Spain is way colder than what people boost about..

Dylan Magaster very impressive, I love to have one and i'm praying about it.
❤️❤️❤️😍😍
Did you film that in Norway or where did you catch up with her? I'd take that pup over the van any day of the week ngl
Gorgeous! Can you please share exactly where you were? I must go there!

Love the van. Beautiful pictures at the beginning of the video! Another great video from Dylan, thank you!
Beautiful filming and photography!

Enhorabuena. Un ejemplo a seguir. Gracias!!
I appreciate intelligent people so much. Good job. Good luck.

Germans love to read. The bed frames are made so you can sit up in bed and read. I read over 20 hours per week. So, it is very beneficial.
Im German, I don't like to read.lol
No, the cricket is not in your room, it's in the video audio. ;)
😂😂
Sg
She is so chilled and nice. She reminds me of the other solo van lifer with her dog penny
aw thank you! Do you know the girl's name?
Vicki, your slide out kitchen is wonderful.

Get you one of the screen porches.. Or gazebos.. Attached it to the back doors so when your doors are open for cooking.. Your covered.
Yes! Artist too!
I like your kitchen idea. It is good to have outdoor kitchen.
I found the comment when you said one day if there is two people I will make the wardrobe bigger ... that’s how I feel to I have built my van for two but right now there’s just me ... god bless you I start my Europe journey in March 2019

Not so solo anymore. But still my favorite vanlife person to follow :)
OMG how cute is that? Thank you. But yes. I'm not 100% solo travelling anymore, but I still think the title is not wrong. I'll be out travelling alone a lot before we leave together and was travelling solo for almost one year

Hi! You have to visit Madrid and the mountains nearby. You´ll love them!
She is just Adorable and she isn't afraid of Living her Dream :) Right On way to go :)
Living is more important than being afraid
You said a Mouthful in that statement :) XO
Excellent video, as always!
Amazing!
enjoying life every day is a bonus

Fantastic design!
I absolutely loves these videos, I hope to build a tiny house when I'm older :)
Kaytrix life is short. Do it now! I waited until I was 55, full time RV, wish I had always lived this way! It's FREEDOM!
I never thought about cork for insulation. That maybe a cheaper solution for me plus I would like to put up a map like her and put a push pin of all the places I’ve traveled.
Far out! Impressive
Hi Vicky. Loverly to see your video
Wishing you all all the very best
in your wonderful traveling future.
🙏😊👍🌟☀️🚐🌍
thank you
Nice!
You go girl!
Not practical especially in EU where it usually rains all year round. And a toilet is a must.
Love the tilting bed. Any idea what the hinge/bracket is called? I would love to add it to my van bed
It's nice video. Nice to travel with the van like yours ..😊
van illa is the best!
You do yoga ..nice love from India
Thought, you may want to use glass containers rather than plastic bottles for storing water.
I'd love to but while driving bumpy roasd that could get bit tricky
wow....nice Vlog!
cute touches to her van
Just lovely 😊
aaaaw
Bliss 😊
Does anyone know of another video that has a outdoor kitchen like in this video, but with a demonstration of its use? And if Vicki of this video would like to make one, if she hasn't already, I'd love to see it?
Super.
Enjoy
Pretty cool!
So adorable how some female van, tiny house and backpacking people make options of there being a companion traveler someday.
I think she showed off her van on The indie project, otherwise I'm getting mad deja vu
Lucien De Vivo ya I saw it too
yes, they filmed a vantour in the beginning of the year. I met them in Portugal. Great guys!!
I knew it! It's a lovely van, I've got a T5 - going to be in France next week exploring :)
Beautiful
Lovely

❤❤❤
to have a year on the road would be nice, where does your income to run a van fuel and so on come from.
So jelly actually :o
My immediate impression was a grown-up sophia.
safe travels love.
How about a gazebo to pop up over the back of your van so you have shelter from the rain when cooking?
I’m about to go on my own van adventure and see all the state here in America🇦🇺🇼🇸🇦🇸🇵🇪👍🏻👄💋🌹
I stopped this video twice at the start to search for the cricket in the room
Your van looked very homely and I absolutely loved it! But I wonder how do you take shower?
Awesome 🌹
let am also traveling solo in Europe. I also have a quest to educate on the truth about world finance. A wonderful opportunity for us all
