I love it when Neil says "the birds talk to me if I get down on my knees" He is such the bomb as a songwriter. It's like, where did he get that from.. deep!
This song is a romantic curse. Sang it at my brother's wedding. She stole more than his heart. It's still a beautiful piece of work. Birds r talking to me.. I'm gonna listen:) ..............
Great find. I remember this concert - I still have my shirt. The Opera House forecourt was crowded so much people were sitting all around Circular Quay listening. A night I will never forget.
wow... looking at the comment of those saying they just seen them recently really is a great thing to hear. I thought they had disappeared. These guys are extremely talented. I adore their music. :D
on a sad note, some parts of this song are haunting as they make me think of paul hester's death. lines such as " the birds come back to the park to talk " and " highest branch on the apple tree was my favourite place to be " and the chorus remind me of it as paul died in a park and he had spent a lot of time in the park before he killed himself and it makes me wonder what went through his mind. so i feel like crying when i hear this song, but it is a brilliant song too.

The bass is awesome!! Specially in the outro part, at the end of the song. Crowded House is such an incredible and versatile band. The final part isis an incredible piece of progessive rock. the sound menisd me a bot of Depeche Mode at their best times. And the Lyrics... cheers!!
Mark Hart on that lap steel is amazing.. that gurgling wah sounds amazing
Neil named this as his favourite song he ever wrote.
Couldn't agree more.
Did he? It's my favorite song of him as well. And he wrote so many great songs. In Split Enz also.
Great song! Outstanding musicians! The stars aligned when these 4 got together. Paul Hester, such talent, so greatly missed!
Qaa
When New Zealand and Australia get together creatively magic happens
Also America because of Mark Hart

Totally agreed 🙏
Even Paul McCartney said he wished he had his songwriting skills, do a lil research I'm not lying🙏
@@kevinpieroerentxun6650 I know I saw that in an interview too.
I still can't believe Paul is no longer with us. Such a loss and sadly missed.
R.I.P fella.

One of my favorite songs by them, along with four seasons in one day.
Just a brilliant song and vocal. Under rated song writer. The guy wrote nothing but magic
Underrated 😂

sublime genius
Another ethereal classic from CH! Neil Finn has been one of my biggest songwriting influences.
Saw them under a full summer moon outdoors in Oregon. Transcendent.
Where and when in Oregon?
@@jamierobert2386 at Edgefield summer series.
the best chorus to exist on this planet
I wish I was there for this.
I was just to the left of the stage.

Excellent version of a great song
Nick Seymour is an absolute star

Great band. Neil has a special voice. Thx!

i saw them last night in brighton
It's kinda funny seeing people crowd surfing at a Crowded House concert. Doesn't seem like the kinda place you'd need to do that lol.
People where running up the walls of the opera house you had to there! I was.
Eu amo essa música
This song, one of their best, has incredible atmosphere but the acoustic version on Afterglow is even better, imho.
@torqueingheads some of the best lyrics of all time there!
Yes.
Not wrong!! I was just to the left of the stage.
