One of the most underrated bands ever. They should have been much greater and huger than they ever were. The sad thing is everyone likes them but few know it. I once did a car trip with my then boyfriend, and he told me to bring the music. When I said "I got the best of Crowded House", he asked who they were. After six songs, he realized he knew each one of them, but didn't even know the name of the band! It's a shame, really. They are in league with bands as Queen, U2 or many of the great ones.
I guess the issue is that they're from Australia & New Zealand which are just tougher countries to do well in as musicians. Succeeding is much easier if you're in America or UK
@@wellingtonaviationchannel634 Different generation. Different heroes. I've reconciled myself to that fact, even though I know that Finn is far superior. It's a fight that can't be won
This song is so hot - no other way to say it. Was listening to the CD of this concert last weekend and CANNOT get it out of my head! Apparently made its first appearance on the tour in the last few days - yay! Here's hoping for ATL.
It sounded light years ahead of its time studio & live but I sometimes think crowded house & Neil need that producer influence carried live hence fingers of love hole in the river
This group deserved so much more recognition here in the US. Whoowhoo, just saw on their website that they'll be in Dallas and Austin, August 4/5, have to score some tickets!!!
the saddest thing ever is that they never get any radio air play in the U.S., not since the '80s when they came out with their two hits, "Don't Dream It's Over", and "Something So Strong". They have SOOOO much more to offer since then, so we as a people need to call our radio stations and request them to be played. I've been doing just that, but only getting, "we don't have any Crowded House, only the old '80s stuff". UGH the media just doesn't get it!
dankx75 - why did you leave off the "dedication" that Neil gave this song at the beginning? it is a riot, what he says! "Okay, this one's dedicated to all those people who've spent a night in a hotel and heard somebody next door bonking, that's kept them up all night. it's the kind of noises you hear through the wall when you have the glass up against it!" i love this version! hope they'll play it when i see 'em in August!!!
That's because Radiohead were inspired by or to be honnest ripped Crowded House off which I guess is just more recognition of how great Crowded House are. Everything about Whispers and Moans is perfect :-)
Is that for real?? Cuz Paul McCartney is one of the best lyricists, along side Neil Finn, imo. I've never heard that Paul actually said that about Neil, but I could believe it for sure!
That is disrespect to the two gifted artists.Macca never said that...or show us proof of your throw away comment! MR.Finn has said it about Paul though!
The lovely Paul Hester. I had this concert on VHS tape. I wore it out. Great upload. Many thanks.
In my top 10 of favourite songs ever. Brilliant lyrics. 25 years on still a masterpiece. Rest In Peace - Paul Hester
Paul's dynamic drumming style was the perfect match to Neil's writing.

Very sad because than these bands are forgotten and fricking Bieber and Taylor Swift survive

Still big in Australia in 2023
Nick Seymour is a flipping great bass player! If you're reading this, 'you rock man!!!' Thanks for your great solid and tasteful grooves.
The mix of great lyrics and great guitar work makes this song so good
Sir Paul McCarthy was asked who he thought was the greatest songwriter of his time was....he said without hesitation....Neil Finn.......Nuff Said
That was debunked by McCartney himself
Hessie had this way of holding it all together. Awesome drummer
When I wake up in your room, and share one piece of your life. When tomorrow comes, we may not be here at all....beautiful

One of the best by them, love the shouted verse at the end.
Not only a great song, but a great performance of it. I like it even more than the studio version.

@grim0033 really? wow, what an honor to be given to Neil Finn!
Great song. There are parts that sound like Radiohead

2 thumbs up on that Macca!

@toeboe106 Hello, if true that would be the other way around.
@toeboe106 Umm... They existed long before Radiohead..... But you probably already knew this...
Pop;;; ooool
