Wyletta Sanders lol!!! Exactly how I feel! My husband keeps saying he’s worried I’m going to crash the vehicle.. for some reason he’s not worried about himself tho..... lol
Thank you Cassandra. I am considering moving to Yellowknife from Vancouver B.C. We are having same housing and rental crisis too but I am so fed up with the rain here haha
Haha nice! We have a decent amount of rain one month of the year lol.. it’s just frozen rain up here! Lol! I hope you figure out if it’s right for you!
Did you notice the light at the top of Pilot's monument? It flashes when a plane is taking off or landing on the water. This signals the boats to stay off the "runway"
Yeah I heard good things about Wildcat and their chili. I did a chili carryout from there and you'd typically expect chili to come in some type of carryout poly styrene container with a tight fitting like like Panera or Timmy's does. Nope it was in a clamshell non sealed container like what you'd take half of an uneaten omelette from a breakfast restaurant home in as a leftover type meal.. The food was $$ it was OK nothing spectacular but it's a chancy ride carrying liquids (like chili or soups) back to your hotel in a clamshell. Wasn't too happy about that.
Ha! That’s a bit ridiculous! Hopefully they were just out of proper carry out containers for it and that isn’t the norm! I think it’s closed now anyway. Not 100% sure tho! Was your hotel good? Ppl are always asking about hotel recommendations but I’ve only stayed in two!
@@LifeinYellowknife yeah it seemed unusual. As to the hotel it's been about 10 years so I'm not even sure they still rent. But it was downtown in a big tower /apartment building , I'm thinking it was Frasier or Frontier something or other. It was OK , nothing too special , just vacant furnished apartments being rented out..., it had underground parking and it was basically a 1 bedroom apartment on a very high floor almost the top of that building facing a mine not facing the downtown core. . Nice enough for what I paid, walls were a bit thin. It was late june so 24/7 daylight. That's always special to someone who lives in the lower latitudes. I think if I did it again I'd stay closer to the retail (walmart) section of town since most places I was interested in I had to drive to anyway.
Great thanks so much! Yes, I know the one you're talking about! I don't remember the name of it either! lol! Sounds like you are due for a visit back! lol!
The restaurant is called the “ Wild cat” cafe and legendary... Apparently has been there forever and had awesome meals... I would have loved to be able to just go in and have a meal but I am not sure if it’s closed for good?
Joy Vermillion thank you!! Ok so I was right he said it was supposed to be good! Ha! Oh no do you think it’s closed because of all the covid stuff? Terrible what it’s doing to small businesses. :-(
It's too bad that they dismantled the headframes, but people other than me don't like mining even though mining made Yellowknife. I worked underground in the mines of Timmins ON for 43 years, so it's dear to me to see mine headframes.
Oh I'm so sorry. I've never heard of people that didn't like mining here but of course I don't know everyone! ha! The only bad thing I've heard is that one of the mines poisoned a lot of our surrounding water with arsenic which is sad.
That was Ndilo First nations territory you went through on the Latham island. They are not a reserve but have their own government. If the municipal enforcement is chasing you just go there. They can't go into Ndilo LOL.
youcef kh sorry that’s the one video I won’t do! I want to leave that to professionals. I have absolutely no idea of the process and I would hate to misinform anyone. Thank you so much for your interest in my videos however. So sorry.
Bird Police thanks for your input! I’m def having a bit of trouble keeping the music constant! The background noise is music in our car that’s a copyright issue and also my family yammering on. I assure you this is better lol.
Thank you for the tour. I'm visiting yellowknife in 5 weeks; I'm so excited. I've been fascinated with the NWT since I was a kid.
Oh you’re welcome! I hope you have a great time!!
Beautifull.city.,and is not small city but looks so clean and peaceful.
I agree. :-)
Yes I went from a car to a truck and I tell you it was like driving for the first time. These places near the water are so beautiful.

That’s awesome! Thank you so much!! :-)
We might be moving there - just found your videos - my only apprehension is groceries would love a video showing fresh foods in the grocery stores
I have a few of those :-) Try the little magnifying glass on my channel page to search. :-)
Thanks for uploading these informational videos...Awesome work!! :)
Ammar Ali Khan thanks so much!
Thanks, was delightful and i enjoyed every moment. When you are driving a new vehicle, in terms of size and length you to have to get the feel of it.
K Z for sure! Thank you! I always appreciate the validation! 😁

Thanks! Someone mentioned it may be closed! I’ll have to check it out if not!

Annoying background music...
It would be better if you can let us hear the actual surroundings
