Exactly what I was thinking. I'm a remodeling contractor and most of my tile subs don't do it and it's a constant struggle, because of the extra labor, but I insist.

ditra is a great product but all u need to do is self level onto the plywood underneath the ditra , then the next day install the ditra following the floor

Curious...you just place the tiles down..you dont set/tap them down?

If the floor is level, adhesive is spreaded
Uniformly tiles are heavy enough to settle down, I believe no need to tap

Also, that is what the red pieces are for. When you slide them through the white spacers, it puts even pressure on the tiles.

u are talking about back notching tile and the consensus seems to be that the direction of the notches are the same as the tile
