  • Step by step how to install a T800 UpMap on your motorcycle. I chose Gabros map for this, as it has been proven to be the most efficient ready map for the RS660.
    The same proccess applies for the Tuono 660.

    Awesome build on your bikes man love your videos!
    Would that void warranty? I am tossed between the AF1 race ECU replacement and GABRO. I had GABRO on my RSV4 too. I just got the rs660 so I have the two year warranty plus the 2yr extended Piaggio. From what I’ve seen the GABRO is more customizable later if you add anything else on. What do you think?

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you brother! Awesome channel you have there too!
      The straight answer between Gabro and Race ECU is Gabro all the way. Not only it performs better overall compared to the Race ECU, but it’s more customizable. It eliminates Euro 5 restrictions, so anything you remove from EVAP canister, servo motor(rsv4), PAIR block offs, etc, everything is eliminated from Gabros map. So no need for any bypass eliminators. Not to mention that you also have the option to dyno your bike and request an updated map directly from Gabro. With a fee of course but the option is there. Better fuel/air ratio, Gabro also sets fuel to be economic on low RPM which you don’t need when racing, and he ups it on mid to high RPM. And a lot more that most will agree Gabros map is better than Race ECU.
      Now regarding warranty, the short answer is yes it will void it. Even the Race ECU will void it. But just because it voids it, it doesn’t mean they wont honor a warranty claim. As long as the issue is not related to the map. I have passed 2 warranty claims on my RS660 and 2 warranty claims on my RSV4 and all were honored even though both bikes have Gabros map. But if they really want to, they can use the map as an excuse to deny a claim. It’s a hit and miss. Personally, I could never leave my RS660 stock. It rips with a good SC Project 👌🔥

    Hey, nice clip, very informative! If you hit DOWNLOAD ORIGINAL MAP, will this download the exact map that was on the bike before - even if it was a non OEM map? Or it the map that Aprilia has as the latest for the bike? Where will this map be stored? on the phone? in the cloud - under my account? Lets say I wanted that original map back on the bike, where and how will I find it?

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  8 месяцев назад

      Very good questions! When you download the map you do not download it from the bike. You download it from the cloud and it is the latest update that is stored on the cloud. The maps that you download are stored under your Upmap account, not your phone. You can find and download the original stock map back anytime you want, once you have linked your bike to the app.

    Great video as always. I try to add some insight to one of your subscribers below. Hopefully it was helpful about the foot pegs being attached to the CRT-1 full titanium exhaust. One question I had for you is that I’m undecided on which flash that I’m going to do on the bike. I heard that I can get, a race map from AF1 racing & replace the original ECU in the bike with the race map ECU. This way I would always have the stock ECU if needed to be reinstalled in the bike for whatever purpose in the future. I wanted to find out what the comparison was from the AF1 racing ECU race map compared to the T800 UpMap? From what I understand the AF1 race map is tied into Aprilia so that it’s tuned precisely for the bike at optimum levels without creating any risk on the engine. Interested to hear your thoughts. Thank you again for all of your past videos and will continue watching. Only catch is, don’t ever get rid of your Apex Black RS 660, 😂😂🔥🔥💥💥

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  Год назад

      The quick answer to your question is that the T800 is a better option than the race ecu for multiple reasons. T800 is much faster to install. Its also faster to revert it to stock map again if needed as everything is stored on the cloud and you can make all changes through your phone. T800 has the benefit of adding a new map if you ever install a new part like velocity stacks. With the race ecu you are locked to that one map only. T800 also has the option to install the Aprilia Race map which is the same map installed on the race ecu. A lot of people think that the race ecu is a safer option to return to the stock ecu if needed in case of warranty claims but thats not the case. A map log would show that the stock ecu was removed and reinstalled. So there is no way around warranty claims. T800 also comes with Gabro’s maps, which from user feedback that have used both it has been reported that Gabros map performs better that the Aprilia Race map. You have to understand that both options are canned maps, which means they are general maps programmed for the RS660 but not yours or mine RS660. The best option is to take your bike to a dyno and have it tuned with a map optimal for your bike. But that is time consuming, not a lot of people have access to that option and in some cases it can cost a lot more than what a T800 will cost you. For all the above reasons the T800 is the best option. But choosing the race ecu is not the wrong options either.

    What’s the difference after you did the UpMap

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  Год назад +3

      The air/fuel ratio is not lean anymore as it is with the stock map. Richer fuel mix, better idle, better throttle response, noticeable power difference especially on low and mid range and overall better engine health.

    Hey man I'm interested in the rs660, how'd reliability been?

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  2 года назад +4

      For me it has been great! No issues. The few RS660 owners that I know and worked on their bikes had no issues either. But I know a few have experienced oil leaks. Most of the times it was due to out of spec torqued bolts on the oil pan. Once torqued to the right specs, they had no issues after that. But warranty is your friend with these Italian bikes. At the end of the day these bikes will never have the reliability reputation of a Japanese bike. But the RS660 is an amazing bike.

    Does this work with the imu, I read on af1 you have to have dealer recalibrate your abs and bike after you map the bike into race map

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  Год назад

      It does not affect the IMU. Your dealer does not need to do anything to your bike after the installation of the Upmap. It’s literally plug & play. After the installation of the map, the bike keeps all the riding modes and electronics as they are set from the factory.

    My bike has a 2 brothers exhaust, will it be a problem

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  2 года назад

      There is no map currently in the UpMap for the 2 bothers exhaust. But that shouldn’t be a problem. Any map should perform better than the stock map. But since you receive a coupon for either the Aprilia Race Map or the Gabro Map, I would use either one map with the 2bros exhaust. Even though these maps are not specifically tuned for the 2bros exhaust, they will perform better than the stock map. Gabro also has a generic race map for katted aftermarket exhausts. Regardless, you should be fine. Also, Gabro is about to release the Mivv map for both db killer and no db killer. I would probably choose that map since its a similar shorty exhaust.

    I bought a used ducati v4 a year ago with a t800 upmap unit on it and now I'm trying to revert to stock ecu mapping. In "founded devices", when I click on my unit, it says "error- device already binded". Does anyone know how to fix this?

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  Год назад +1

      It’s difficult to understand over a comment what the issue is exactly without being there to resolve it, but if what you are trying to do is link the device to the bike, you shouldn’t do that. The T800 device is already linked to your Ducati from the previous owner. Thats why it’s giving you the message “device already binded”. Once its linked to the bike its locked to that bike only. Have you tried opening the app and clicking on the helmet icon on the left? Then click “motorcycle” and it should tell you the make, model and vin number of your bike. Under that, it should say download original map. If non of that works, there is a chance that the app account is linked to the previous owner’s email address. Which means you would have to connect the T800 device to your bike and then log in the app with the previous owner’s email and password to access it. Again, all this is speculation. I could be wrong and there could be another solution. If getting ahold of the previous owner is impossible, I would suggest contacting Gabro directly.

      @@ALFAVITAGA I appreciate your help, that was the most helpful answer yet! The t800 is linked to the bike but I can't get my app to connect to it in order to change the loaded map or get any bike info. I bought the bike a year ago across the country so contacting the previous owner for the login info is impossible, I sent an email to a support email and their Instagram account, most people are telling me I'm shit outta luck but I'm staying hopeful they'll help me get my app login sorted out so I can connect to the t800 and get access to the mapping.

      @@dakoolguy111 You raised some questions with your issue that I also want answered. I just can’t accept that the bike and device binds on an email account. If that is the case that is plain ridiculous. What if I sell my RS660? I don’t want to share my email and password to the next owner, in order for that person to have access to the T800. There must be a better way that we may be missing. I will reach out to some people and Gabro himself and if I get a solid answer I will update you.
