That is a complex situation as most of the high speed train lines in China a virtually unused and a total waste much like their ghost cities. It is cool they built them but if no one uses them then what? Plus the under used lines are a huge cost to run and maintain. I think they should have selected the destinations more carefully. The USA needs high speed rail for the short hops where flights dont make sense.

No, he says them because EV subsidies unfairly incentivize people to buy EVs. He's already said this and it makes sense. And there's tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of auto workers in ICE vehicle factories. You make it fair; ELIMINATE ALL SUBSIDIES. I disagreed when Obama saved GM from bankruptcy and I agree with Trump on ending EV subsidies. Tesla cars don't need subsidies; people buy them because they're immensely valuable.

We all laughed at the 2000hp EV crashing at Goodwood but the real message here is that EVs can out perform ICE cars. Who is going to want to by an ICE in North America when an EV at half the price can out perform it.
I met a retired teacher and grandmother at a local car show who specifically bought a Tesla Model 3 just so she could drive a faster car than her students and "flip the bird" at them.
Performance matters to the car consumer and it affects there purchasing decisions.

Sam, everyone I know (I live in Texas) wonders the same thing: why don't we have better candidates? The short answer is that America is not a democracy. It's not a country of, by, and for the people. It's an oligarchy. Both parties are two cheeks of the same arse, and they are both controlled by the oligarchs who fund the parties and the campaigns. We the people get the candidates the oligarchs give us. The oligarchs loved Biden because he followed orders. They like Kamala for the same reason. They are less comfortable with Trump because he's a bit unpredictable. For example, he won't greenlight all the wars they want. There are plenty of warmongers in the Republican Party to their liking if they can get rid of Trump. Trump is the closest thing to an anti-establishment candidate we have. That's why he's popular. I think the oligarchs misread him initially as someone they could control.
You have a great channel. I love it. Thanks for all your hard work. I apologize for my rude and uninformed countrymen who send you nasty emails. The US is the most propagandized and thus misinformed country on earth.

There is no need to blame China. for example in VIC which near to you, Geelong was once one of the largest manufacturing hubs in Australia, but high per capita GDP income in Australia results in high labor costs. graduately, Ford and Holden production costs go up, resulting loss of competitiveness in the end, eventually the factories just close down. Yes, but if Teslas go up $7,500, almost no one will buy them. I have bought three, and I would not have paid $7,500 more for any of them. Sales will drop like a fucking rock if that happens. Tesla's sales are already dropping, even with that crutch. Taking it away would be devastating. It would help Ford and GM, who WANT to sell ICE cars.

@bigdaddy1279 Tesla isn’t standing still they are constantly improving cost of production, why do you think they’re upgrading their current production lines to incorporate elements of the ‘unboxed’ method by the end of year meaning they’ll be able to reduce prices to offset any loss of customers getting a tax credit.

I generally agree with the notion that taxpayers shouldn't subsidize most industries and let the market pick the winners and losers. However, in a global economy, with an emerging industry like EVs, if China subsidizes their EV manufacturers and we didn't, we'll get crushed. It would be way worse than when Japanese cars started taking market share from American Auto manufacturers. In maybe ten years or so most legacy auto companies here would be out of business. Even Tesla can't compete with a heavily subsidized Chinese auto industry.
