He was no Saint - and only God will judge us all, finally.
We ALL have 'a lot to answer' for.
He was a savage and brutal warrior - who was necessary at a time when a diabolical and monstrous maniac was riding roughshod across all that was Christian and civilizational decency.
We - the English, the British, the Empire and the entire beautiful world with any sense - shall never forget his guts.

You're an ignorant fool, because if you knew anything about Churchill you would know he was a staunch anti-Bolshevik/anti-Marxist. Among European (and American) political leaders at the time, he was one of, - if not THE - biggest proponent of military intervention in the Russian Civil War to support the White Army and crush the communist scum.
He despised Lenin, and Stalin after him - the quote about how relucant he was to help the Soviets to the House of Commons is one of his most humorous and famous. You should look it up, perhaps you will accidentally learn some more information about this wonderful, timely Great Man of history

It was lucky he was English and British, with an American mother. This honour is deserved and symbolic of the alliance between U.S. and G.B. Winston Churchill was a true Briton so doubtfully he would have wanted an American citizenship. Had he been a legal citizen of the US the outcome of the world re World War II would be entirely different and potentially for US. History shows us his stoicism, courage and tenacity prevailed to deliver victory to the Allies.

Made a mistake with my reply. This Randolph Churchill was not a Lord. His grandfather (Winston Churchill's father) was Lord Randolph Churchill. I had not completed proper research, at the time of posting this reply. Grandfather and grandson are quite interesting to read about. Lord Randolph was a competant member of Parliament, until something happened to his brain. He deteriorated and died while still young. His grandson (the Randolph Churchill of this news report/video) was just plain bonkers. His biographies are discouraging. To say that he had anger management issues would be a mild description of his behavior. For this ceremony with John F. Kennedy, he had his behavior under control. Mostly he did not. He was not a Lord and never succeeded with his campaigns for places in Parliament. Apparently he could not keep anyone on his side, for a successful campaign.

Both the UK and the USA could do with leadership like those two now more than ever. The UK needs a firm, dignified, serious statesman. Rather than a clown show of buffoonery. The USA could do with a young man (or woman if you wanted) full of new ideas and youthful vigour rather than some decrepit old men who should have been in their retirement homes long ago. Let the new generation shape the country. Both apply to whichever way you might lean politically. I was watching Thatcher on RUclips the other day, despised and hated by so many. They have their reasons, sometimes good. But even so the respect she commanded and the strong core values she held are something I feel is so sorely lacking in these nations today. Quite sad really not seeing anyone of that type in charge.
