After the filming of this video, we realized we should have been wearing protective gear especially when riding on a big bike! We do not recommend people to wear what we wore in this video. We have now invested in some good motorcycle gear and will definitely be putting them to good use! If you are riding on a motorbike, most places will have some gear to rent so that is always an option! Stay safe and thank you for watching :)
It's a good afterthought & it's something you see all the time, but it doesn't matter if you're on a big bike or a scooter, main thing you both had half decent helmets which is the most important thing to wear on a motorbike........
for those who dont know if they smelled sulphur before think rotten egg or battery acid or striking a match thanks for the video , planning on doing a long solo drive from hua hin to chiang rai and the golden triangle then drive back along the borders of laos and cambodja chiang mai is likely one of the stops going a little smaller size / cheaper on the motorbike , thinking on a 150 160cc scooter , a touring style bike with gears is nicer in the mountains though as you can shift down let go of the trottle and brake on the engine on the downslopes and spare the brakes as theres a verry good chance at brake fade (brake fluid boiling from the heat generated causes airbubbles in the lines and spongy / no brakes and making the brakepads so hard there hardly gripping no more ) if you need to hold the brake all the way down automatics start to freewheel if you let go of the trottle
Thanks for the info, that actually has happened to us when going on steep downhills in the mountains. Your trip sounds like an amazing adventure, enjoy every second of it and safe travels😊
@@K8andGustav The route to Buriram province must pass through Phetchabun Province, which is very beautiful because it is a mountainous and rush green areas. You should stop by to visit Phetchabun province because this province is very famous for Thai people as well for motorbike riding and camping in the mountains.
Highway 118 is the fastest way to Chiang Rai from Chaing Mai, but several side roads have more twists, turns, and views! Thank you for driving responsibly and for wearing helmets! What app are you using that shows the direction, elevation, speed, etc?
Hi Guys I will be travelling to Thailand end of November and will love to do this trip as well. I love the footage can you share what camera set up you used for the filming.
Hi there, thank you so much for watching. We use a Dji mini 3 pro for the drone shots. Insta 360x3 and gopro hero11 and Iphone 14pro😃 enjoy the trip and drive safe.
Nice vid.n David, in Thailand it is NOT 'cool' to walk around with bare feet; in fact it is inappropriate. Apart from Monks do you see Thais walking without footware? Just saying.😅 Enjoy and be safe.
Good video. But for a long trip, you should wear safety clothing. Such as safety gloves, safty boots, safty pants and jackets. Not ensure 100% for safety but those gears will reduce your pain and loss when any accidents occure. Safe journey.
very good video this road, I know them completely. I have done it about 100 times because I have lived in Chiang Rai for 18 years,, and when I go to Chiang Mai to the French alliance, I take this winding road, .three years ago, they completely did the road and in Thailand. When they do the roads it lasts a long time, I will soon make a video as I changed my motorcycle I bought a triumph Bonneville 900, I will wait until the monsoon has passed to undertake this video. I registered with you if you can do the same that would be nice. A-RA-N
Hey A-Ra-N that sounds like a great bike for long distance drives. Have you tried the Nan loop? It's absolutely wonderful driving. Go check it out, Gustav made a series about it. Will subscribe👍🏽
The most dangerous part of driving/riding in Thailand is the local drivers who ignore traffic rules and safety themselves as well as safety of others. Just bought a new Honda CB500F (Hornet); it's more exhausting riding/driving in Thailand than in EU or in U.S. I am sure in other countries, i.e., India, Bangladesh, might be worse than in Thailand..
as biker , i don't agree with you cause riding a motorcycle is very dangerous ! and specially while you were in Thailand or Asia area ! Without jacket and body protections ( elbow , spin dorsal etc ) a small accident would be big causualities ! But ok ! have fun and enjoy your roadtrip with security !
@@K8andGustav Good on you. I've seen too many horrific injuries and even deaths from tourists not wearing protective gear. It's well worth it. Larn at CP, will show you places to go to buy good gear.

Yeah, we found out about the nice quieter roads after this trip. The GPS overlaid was from our insta 360 camera with a GPS watch. Pretty sweet😄

Thank you😁
Absolutely loved this video! The bike footage is great!

On which month did you shoot this video? Its a lovely captured moments❤❤❤ @kate and Gustav
We did that trip last year September. Nice time of the year to travel😄 thanks for watching 😊
I feel famous ♥️
You are going to be famous, this video is gonna blow up😄
How did David keep up on that little scooter? Nice adventure .
We took it slow-ish, and stopped a lot😃 but he was pushing that little scooter😅
Maximum allowed speed in Thailand is 80kmh.
Any scooter can easily do that.

3000 baht wow so expensive 😮 but it must be worth it
It was expensive, you can rent a car for that price. But it really feels liberating😃

Cm to cr is around 180-2xx km. Missing 1 or 2 zeros to be considered epic. Even with every pitstop thrown in.
Thanks for your input.

This os do EPIC, i EPICLY block your disrespectful clockbait channel
Thanks for the View😅
Nice trak. But you realy no Biker.
No we bought some proper protection gear after this trip.
YIP, No protection for when you come off. Fairly stupid riding in shorts and tee shirt. Only a matter of time.
I agree it really is dangerous, and we only realized it after the trip. So we ordered protective gear for our next trip😅

Thanks for the advice, we realized that it’s a no brainer to get protective gear. We received it just in time for our Vietnam trip with Bikes😄
HAHAHA in Chiang Rai das ist kein Tepel HAHAHA es ist nur ein Kunst Werck Art.
I have no idea what you just said Klaus😂
