I found out about texture release just today through another UK video being recommended and that’s how I found you. I’m loving this from my research so far. I’ve been looking for an option to do straighten my hair without something as permanent and damaging as a relaxer and without the time needed for heat training. I’m completely natural 4C. My hair reverts very quickly . My salon doesn’t even use relaxers because of the health concerns. And yea I’m an American viewer. This is the best part of the internet. Learning what’s going on in other parts of the world that I may want here 💓💓💓 thank you for this excellent explanation and review
What city, state are you in? Based on your username i guess somewhere in the South lol. Have you found someone in your area who does it ? I'm in Houston and I'm trying to find a reputable salon that does it
I had a texture release recently and I really like it. I only had three passes and I can wear my hair both straight and natural. When straight, it is silky and looks like a perm. My hair type is 4a. I have washed my hair several times and it has reverted back
This is amazing thank you for sharing this! I get my texture release done in about two, three weeks and I have 4a hair. My stylist said it would be much better than a relaxer so I’m trusting her, and hearing your experience makes me feel less nervous!
Great video ! I know this as a keratin treatment I’ve been getting them for the past 2 years and love them ! My hair is 4c type and I can’t lie one treatment will last AGES in my hair like 9 months over time my texture has changed though so not quite 4c anymore more like a 4a but I love it and it saves time on wash day
Thanks for watching! Ooooo that’s super interesting that you’re texture has changed over time. I think mine has too but not notably. Maybe that will change over time. I love it too - wash day is a breeze now!
Hey, just a clarification, Avlon texture release is formulated with amino acids whereas a keratin treatment is most likely formulated with formaldehyde (which is potentially harmful) or glyoxylic acid which when heated up decomposes into formaldehyde.
Great video! I just had my first texture release 12 days ago and I love it. My hair is kind of on the thinner side and it did very well. It got very straight. I wrapped it for a week until it started looked stucked together on the ends because I oiled my scalp. I probably shouldn't have oiled it but nevertheless it still stayed straight. I have new growth and it still looks fine. I massage my scalp everyday for 15 minutes which helps with hair growth a lot. I will get a silk press in a few days. I will get another texture release in 2 months at this rate of hair growth. I love it and I feel it's very healthy for the hair. My hair feels stronger with this product too.
@@Sandra-jc2fs Hi there, yep, I still love it. It's healthier than a perm or relaxer and this will be my go to for a straight look. There's no chemicals involved at all, that's what I love most about it.
@@bdm72257Hello what did you do about the oil issue ? I love using oils to help regrow my edges. I feel like if I use the oils it will fck up the texture release 😢
@@Dream-Me I came to the conclusion that I didn't like it for my thin hair. It made it too thin. I also could not revert back to curly as they said you could. I'm now growing it out of my hair. I won't do it again. But I feel for someone with very thick hair it would be fine. As for the oils, use it very very lightly because it will take away from the body of the hair.
@@bdm72257 Thanks for sharing your experience with me 😊Hope it grows out quickly for you ! I just got it done yesterday...I love the finish just concerned about not being able to moisturize my scalp.
I struggle to believe it’s semi-permanent because it never washed out for me. My stylist also told me it’s a permanent treatment but just not a damaging one. She said if it was semi-permanent there would be a way to literally remove the product from your hair like you can with certain hair-dye’s etc. I bit chopped in the end to revert but forever tempted to do this again for manageability. Thanks for your video, it was refreshing and informative. We need more info about this product
That's so interesting, I never thought about a product to actually remove the treatment. We definitely need more information on it. Thank you for sharing
I like the treatment. I love how more manageable my hair is even when coily.I HATE the smell. Also, the first couple of weeks I had a flaking problem. 😊
The I first time I got it I got curls my hair was fine the curls lasted for days until I combed them out and then I wore it straight no problem for a month with little frizzing and please note I live in the Caribbean. So you can get curls right away your hair will still revert and you hair will be healthy and fine
Omg, I just love your video. You gave the best explanation ! I do this for my clients as well. And they love the results. It's a relaxer without the commitment!
I had the avlon texture released done in 2018 for my wedding coz I wanted to wear my natural hair and not have it revert as the day went on. I never got it again and till this day, when I straighten my hair, there is a line of demarcation from my new growth ever since. i find that my ends that were treated have a smooth silky finish but the new growth has a slight yaki texture when I straighten my hair. I guess it never washed out for me at all and I am tempted to get it done again just so that there is no line of demarcation
@@BrendaMang I experience that as well. My first treatment was in august and I thought it would wash out but it hasn’t. I got it redone because of the line of demarcation. I don’t mind it because I enjoy my “new” texture but if I really want to retain the same curl pattern I would be upset.
So interesting! Would it be possible to make a video on it as someone who has long term experience? I also want to get it done to try something different but want to keep my natural texture and not have to constantly redo it
Hello, I had been getting this treatment for about 2 years. I would say it depends on how much you sweat in your head. I sweat quite a bit and my hair does revert a little but not too bad. Definitely use a tight headband for your edges.
Any advice on getting this treatment for an 8 year old - is it safe for that age group? Also, she doesn't want it straight/straightened, more just like her curls loosened so they stay elongated in a ponytail for example as her curls shrink very very quickly! Thank you
I currently have half relax and have natural hair? Can I use this product on the new growth? Or will it be a problem to have two different treated parts
Love this video! So helpful, literally answered all my questions. Im planning to get it done in June & go on holiday to Mexico I didn’t know if it would be a good idea or not due to the humidity. Any thoughts? X

Hey. Great video. I'm actually at a crossroads with my natural hair. It's thick and full and A LOT!!! I'm always thinking about relaxing and cutting short again so this may be a good option for me. I saw that you went to a couple different salons, Elite being one (where I usually get my trims) Which would you advice is the best to go to and who... if you remember?

I’m considering this treatment because I’ve been natural for my whole life, but I wear my hair blow dried and with curls from Bantu knots/flexi rods, and I want to wear that style often without it reverting too much. Which kind of texture release do you think would be best for my hair?
You can get the same finish as the one I got (when I first got it done I mainly wore my hair in braid outs and twists (sometimes blowdrying first and sometimes not) and it was really nice. If you’re not comfortable with that much heat though you could go for the versatility finish! Worth consulting with your stylist before the treatment! Xx
Hey, your hair looks so lovely! I am considering getting this treatment but just for my curls to be more manageable. Do you think I’d be able to do protective styles with this treatment in?

Hi Kristen, I have had my hair texturized 6 months ago and now I’m starting to get new growth which is not significantly much yet, it’s just about 20% of my hair length at the moment and I’m considering the texture release system, do you have any idea if goes well with already textured hair?
