2:44 Doesn't seem like it is sensitive enough to work everytime a mouse goes through the tunnel. I wonder how many actually just get away? At 3:05 ya hear it being stepped on.
I worked at a pizza place about 30 years ago and we had a trap like that. The place next door was vacant and they had left a bunch of candy racks in there and the place got infested. After they ran out of food they tried to invade our store. We had the standard poison traps the inspector's required, but they did no good. We could wind up that trap and an hour later have 10 mice in there. We did not want a live trap, but it was one of the few traps we could get that worked multiple times. We would drop the trap in a bucket of water, dry it off, rewind it, and put in some bait. They would chew through into a back utility room. We tried caulking the holes shot, but they would chew right back through it every night. We could not get access to the building attached to set traps and poison in there, so we struggled for about a week. We eventually got rid of them by mixing poison with the caulk. The next morning we found about 200 dead mice... Luckily it was a sunday morning and we were able to clean the store (even taking down the ceiling tiles) and sanitize everything with bleach before we opened.
Had this trap for years its truly an excellent humane trap. Lost count of all the mice I caught in multiple lofts and sheds and released them alive and healthy a few miles away.
I've had this exact trap for many years and caught well over 100 mice. In fact I let the trap sit for 3 days and had 8 mice in the box. my favorite mouse trap ever.
Can a mouse get sick in those traps? Because two of those mice that were there began to behave to be drunk and bloated after I had to push them slowly out of the trap. They jumped up a lot and hit their heads trying to escape. I placed small amounts of bread and a little diamatotcas earth near them inthe traps in case they have fleasetc. The maximum time they were there was two days. The majority survived. I sometimes used a bellows used in photography for air to blow air into the holes of the trap. I watched that they were not staving nor accidentally touch the other parts that would snap. The device that turns to place them into that separate small holding cell before I release them outside my home.

I have the Victor tin cat which used to work but the mice have found a way out. Does the JT Eaton have a catch space that it is impossible to get out of?
I have one, a older one my dad brought home when he's job shutdown. I works fine just make sure it it has enough tension or the mice can escape. Whitmire Micro Gen Mouse Master Multiply-Catch When want to kill the mouse or mice in these traps. I just shake the trap tell they stop moving then dump 'em on the ground and smash their heads in with a stick or rock.
We have that trap and a chipmunk got in it. Too big to go in the chamber so they got stuck. We had to use a screw driver to pry it out. Its leg was broken but they were still alive. :) I have a video of them crawling away somewhere.
MousetrapGenius well ducks for me becuz that's the only live trap they have in my Home Depot and I thought it would work. Although the reviews on their website everyone said it would work. We'll thanks.
Warning... if the rodent species you are trying to catch is longer than the distance from the hole to the trigger plate (including tail), you will have injured tails. For me, this was catching loose pet gerbils. Also, two mice (one house mouse, one deer mouse) were found with a broken leg which was likely the paddle that did it. I had three of these and all three eventually broke somehow in the mechanism so they are not completely durable mechanically. In its favor, it always caught twice as many as the Tin Cat when both set in the same place
Pet rodents who get loose are difficult to catch unless the room has nothing in it. Wild rodents getting in the house can spread disease to pet rodents so they need to be caught... But I keep them as pets too @@stoneschanify
Also, all the repeat-catch traps in my area are made for house mice and are too small for bigger rodent pets like gerbils so single-catch traps made for chipmunks are used for the bigger rodent pets @@stoneschanify
This is more effective for rats than mice as they are heavier, mice tend to run over the trigger plate without pressing it down as they are quite light
Jake Tresselt I have 2 of the Ketch-All version of this trap. It does a very good job with mice, but seems too small for rats. I'm not aware of a rat-size version.
Let him go… so he can end up back in your home. I don’t get these people.. treat a mouse or rat humane but won’t do the same for a person they see struggling in my opinion.
We used this kind of trap back in the 1960s on the farm in Montana.

Wow

i just let them sit and starve to death. A more humane application
Looks to me that the trap didn't work very well.
I've had this exact trap for many years and caught well over 100 mice. In fact I let the trap sit for 3 days and had 8 mice in the box. my favorite mouse trap ever.
It ain't no spring tension - it just teleports the mouse into the capture chamber!
I've considered the possibility it might be magic ;)
FokkerBoombass It goes up REALLY fast
These traps work better with a smear of peanut butter somewhere on the inside of the trap. They also have a tendency to cut mice in half occasionally.

I had exactly the same one and mouse was not going to trap chamber, it was sticking out of the window and seemed to be stuck.

I had one of these about 20 years ago. it is the best mouse trap EVER!!
It works perfectly, i caught a mouse just about 20 minutes ago, just 4 days after i got it!

danostler1 We've never had trouble with escapees.
so...I'm guessing you don't use the "drowning attachment". ;p
The link no longer works in the description.
I have two in our garage. Works well.

these traps cannot be called humane. I used them years ago, and the mouse is sometimes killed by the door that slaps it into the holding cage
Shawn Woods tested a similar trap and ran into the same issue.
We have that trap and a chipmunk got in it. Too big to go in the chamber so they got stuck. We had to use a screw driver to pry it out. Its leg was broken but they were still alive. :) I have a video of them crawling away somewhere.
What food do you use as bait?
I need help. I have baby mice in my garage and dont know which trap to use. Any suggestions? Thanks!
wolfusa2002 Probably not this one. I'd recommend the TomCat Live Catch Tip Trap
+MousetrapGenius Thanks I will use your link. Do you know if the victor love mouse trap will work
I meant live
wolfusa2002 The Victor Tin Cat works alright. There is another one made of plastic that doesn't work very well, though.
MousetrapGenius well ducks for me becuz that's the only live trap they have in my Home Depot and I thought it would work. Although the reviews on their website everyone said it would work. We'll thanks.
It doesn't hurt the mouse, right?
WHAT IS A GOOD BAIT?
im guessing it can take 240v ?

8 years old I know…
So what… you’re trapping them for a reason no?

There the best design. JT Eatons are not good the windups get stuck. The Katchall is much better
this is a cheap version of a Knauss Mfg Ketch-All mouse trap, of which I have two.
The music that was used in this video?
2:58 the little guy is soooooooooo cute
The mouse got its head caught and suffocated. A regular spring trap would've been more humane. It does work though.
Does the mouse look so cute while it's staring at the camera
THEGZAGODDAMN! GETTIN ME ONE OF THESE DUN!
Frankly it looked like it knocked the crud out of the mouse when it went off.
You forgot the drowning attachment...
this trap chokes the mice I have used it,
GENESIS HATCHERY & EGG CO., how does it choke them?
GENESIS HATCHERY & EGG CO. When I used this trap the mouse was sticking out in the window like something was holding her legs.
You mean you *do* want to check it every day, right? Never used one of these before so tips on baiting would be helpful to me at least.
Holy crap, That scared the hell out of me
what would work good in a car for rats
Mice kill each other if they are trapped in a confined space
That's the word.
I would hardly call this very "humane" if left for any time.
I guess there is no PATENT as that it the exact same as the Kness Ketch All.
windup mice trap has been available for over 50 years so the patent would have expired if there was ever any.
You don’t want to hurt mice? What’s wrong with you?
Oml the rat is so cute
yeah but mice in confined spaces kill and cannibalize one another in an extremely short amount of time
This morning my cat got a mous and let it go in the hous!!!!!
I have that
I need one I have a rat problem
Jake Tresselt I have 2 of the Ketch-All version of this trap. It does a very good job with mice, but seems too small for rats. I'm not aware of a rat-size version.
ITS SOOO CUTE!!!!!!! ♡♡♡
Why does the look of the mouse trap matter? I mean seriously....you're catching mice. Not exactly a fashion show there.
La cagaron al soltarlo a hora este ratón avisará a los demás y los demás a las nuevas generaciones de ratones y ya no caerán en la trampa😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂he looked so scared
mouse traps are use ful

I was hoping for some type of Star Wars death trap
