When I lived in NYC I would have an occasional mouse or two in the apartment. I bought two of these smart mouse traps and they worked every time. Best thing was the trap door snapping shut was loud enough to hear in another room, so you know you caught one. Great product.
Great! Hope that it works well for you! And it's a good thing you're getting one, because if you have one mouse in your house, you probably have more than one! Thanks for the comment, and the purchase =)
Thanks. And that mouse was in for most of the night and morning (probably why he was a bit lethargic when I released him). It's always best release them as soon as possible, but I wasn't home right when he got caught.
This one seem to solve the problem with the cube. I read one review that said 2 mice danced around the trap, 1 went in, & the other pushed the door a little & let him back out. Kinda reminded me of Huckleberry Hound's 2 little mice buddies.
The mice in my apartment are extremely smart. The run of the mill traps and the poison don't work anymore. I definitely need(ed) something that was complicated enough to grasp their attention. Frustration really set in one night so I took to RUclips for advice. I saw your video and bought the smart mouse trap immediately on amazon.com (in addition to 2 other traps you recommended). It took exactly one month but I just caught my 1st mouse. I think this is the last one, but you never know. Thanks
I don't think so. The door won't close until the mouse steps on the trigger pad, so it has to be all the way in the back of the trap before it springs. And even if the mouse had a really long tail and it got stuck, I doubt it would hurt it at all, the spring is just powerful enough to close the door quickly, not to break anything.
Just purchased this using your link!! Hopefully you get the credit for it. Found my cat today going after a mouse and catching it... I was able to get my cat to put it down and then get her away from the mouse... It seemed ok and went off to hide. But now I need to get this thing to get him/her outside safely :P. Thank you for showing how safe this mouse trap is! Also, I never knew that peanut butter was dangerous for a mouse, good to know!!
Pull out the bait area and put the bait in the middle so that it is surrounded by plastic on all sides. The mouse should only be able to smell it, not touch it, even if it goes into the trap.
I love your channel. My landlord's exterminator laughed when I told him I wanted a live-catch trap, so I bought this Smart Mouse Trap. I caught one the first night, then put him in a bucket that wasn't high enough and he got out. They were too wary to be trapped again, and the trap stayed empty for weeks. But the exterminator brought me a JT Eaton Little Pete yesterday and we've already caught two! He had to ask me what you do with the mouse afterward since he's never actually seen someone use one before, hahah. It blows my mind that people are still okay with using things like glue traps on these little guys.
I hope you realize that it is a complete myth that mice can choke to death on peanut butter. We fed small mice, large mice, all kinds of mice on solely peanut butter for weeks during the winter as we couldn't let them out during that time and not a single mouse choked to death.
I wonder what other bait can be used if the trap owner happens to be allergic to peanut butter... Fortunately, I don't have a mice problem, I live in an apartment, but I very much support using no-kill traps only, so that's why I'm watching this. And oh, I also find mice quite cute. :)
I don't know if I have mice or rats, but it/they got into my bag of winter seeds & ate the whole thing ..demolishing the paper sacks. I tried using a raccoon/opposum live trap (thinking it was a raccoon), but it/they ate the dog food & didn't set the trap. Maybe it didn't weigh enough to set it. I really don't want to let them outside to just come back in my garage, pooping over everything in there. Suggestions?
If you think it's a mouse or rat, then a raccoon trap probably wouldn't work. Trying getting a mousetrap (I have links to some in the video description). If you want to use a live trap but are afraid of the mice coming back, just take them a long ways away (a quarter miles is more than enough). Good luck!
Man if i could I would buy this trap. Just last night I spotted a mouse for the first time ever in my house, the funny thing was that he really wanted to go into my closet, i have to check later to see if any more mice are hiding there, but we were lucky to trap him in my brother's closet, with a glue pad trap with a small piece of cheese and one of his tee shirts tucked under the door. He was kind of a cutie but I am the kind of person who would just flip out on this sort of situation. ^^;
Haha, I've trapped lots of mice and never seen that, but I guess it's possible ;) That would definitely be impossible with this trap though. Thanks for the comment!
MousetrapGenius I have a really smart mouse, that's in my stove!!!! I really can't bring myself to kill it and have tried this trap, caught several with it but not the elusive stove mouse. The closest I have gotten was waking up to find that the bait, a piece of meatloaf, was gone and the peanut butter doesn't seem to appeal to this mouse. Do you have any that you recommend for genius mice? P.S. I've tried the victor multi catch too.
+flamegirl181 I tried using the tootsie roll that I suggested to you here before..I did catch a few mice using it..but since have learned an even better bait..sounds crazy but have caught more mice with this than anything else that I have used for bait..it is simply dry dog food...I do use the Victory "kill" traps...sorry..but the dry dog food will work on any trap to be honest..What I did was took my trap and hot glued a piece or 2 to the flap and set the trap..the mice can lick it but can't lick it off...they have to bite it off..bam they get it and that is the end of the mouse...NOW for those of you that like to catch and release..where ever you normally put your bait in the trap..use the glue gun and just glue the bait in there..same thing..the dog food attracts them and they will get caught...using the dog food..I seriously caught 20 mice in one week...yes I HAD a serious problem for awhile as I got flooded and all those mice came to my house to get out of the water...so yep try hot gluing some dog food to your traps and see if that don't help you out with your smart mice!!!
+flamegirl181 I have had several really smart mice. The homemade kiwi mouse trap I found on youtube has worked for the smart ones. I have this trap too but they won't go in it.
Please help me. What trap should I use for a small mouse that might have head trauma. I alreadt mentioned this mouse once before but we need this mouse out please responed asap.
I bought this type of trap because of several reasons one of them being that my 20 year cat died. I don't know if mice talk to each other to not to enter any device or shape that looks like a trap. They don't go even to the center. They barely put their head in the door and then quickly pull their heads back in. I think it's one and they go in areas that are hard to spackle or put those steel wool. Do I need to buy an attractant? I don't want to kill them. I also have five mice cubes and no mice has entered the traps. It's been several weeks since my cat died. 6/20/2017. It is now august 8th 2917.
I killed almost 100 large rats in my factory. It uses a sheet of plywood, cotter pin, string. These are large rats and very clever. They do not go onto regular victory traps, glue trays.
The first time I used the trap that uses the mouse's body weight to catch it, we put cheese in, the clever little mouse ate the cheese, had a little pee and ran out! that trap is perfect for those clever types!
KILLING MICE UNDER TRUCK TIRES. :( - I'm thankful for these videos. I wish I could have seen something similar years ago. I lived in an apartment complex that was right next to a field. It used to be full of cows but they got rid of them and it "growed up" and was full of mice for some reason. They would get in our house NON STOP...and of course the apt complex wouldn't do anything about it. I didn't know what to do. My husband bought glue traps because he knew I didn't want to poison them. I would hear them at night get trapped and scream. It bothered me so bad. I couldn't get up through the night and mess my whole sleep system up so I'd have to wait til I got up in the morning. I was so upset and didn't want to throw them in the trash to starve so :( I'd put it in 3-4 walmart bags and put it right under my husband's truck tire and run over it. It was SO DISTURBING to me. I don't even hurt bugs most of the time. If they're in my house and they get around me or my dogs and they sting or bite I will kill them. It was especially disturbing because of how many times I had to do it. I HATED it so bad. It still bothers me. I'll never do that again now that I've seen some of these videos. There were so many of them I don't think it would matter to let them lose. It wouldn't have made a difference. THANK YOU FOR POSTING!!!
thanks. after watching vid, this will be the one I buy to evict my mouse. :) Just fyi though, clearly that mouse was very dehydrated (in the trap too long?). I work with mice every day in research and they dehydrate very quickly (within 2 days they won't bounce back from it and in one day they look like this guy did - all hunched and lethargic) so to anyone purchasing one of these - please check your trap every day or even more often because mouse metabolism is very high and they will die quickly (and horribly) without a water source.

Love it when I see others taking care of the little guys, your awesome
man, i love your vids, i have LOTS of vermin problems in my house, and all of your solutions have worked! thumbs up!
Wonderful! It's always great to hear stories of people successfully using the traps! Thanks for letting us know!
Thanks! Glad it's working for you! Hopefully will have a lot more vids coming too!
so I can just smear peanut butter on something and hope the mice chokes on it... no traps needed...
lol
Congrats Here's An Award For Most Terrible Person!
This trap works very well, and I'd recommend using it. There's a link in the description to where you can get it if you're interested.
I'm sooo on it. I have a "smart mouse"🙄🤞🏾
Ok,so, where.🤷🏾🤷🏾😆
How many times have you caught the SAME mouse?
lol
hahahaha. i was thinking the same thing.
MousetrapGenius you are fake
You might want to look at my review of the Tomcat Live Catch. I tested that trap on a very small mouse, and it worked.
We've used this type of trap for years and it works!
I'm not sure actually. They're on Amazon in the US. I don't think they're on Amazon UK, but there are some other live traps on there.
Thanks. And that mouse was in for most of the night and morning (probably why he was a bit lethargic when I released him). It's always best release them as soon as possible, but I wasn't home right when he got caught.

Thank you! Glad you care about not hurting them too!
Looks almost dead when you launch it into the bush..lol @ 4:16
I want to recommend this trap aswell. I used it to catch an escaped pet mouse. worked like a charm an didn't hurt my little Houdini
LadySmartcat Great!

GREAT job. No more poison. One trap lasts forever. Win situation for all.

A whole channel on mouse traps? lol
Just purchased this using your link!! Hopefully you get the credit for it. Found my cat today going after a mouse and catching it... Thankyou so much. I hope I can find one in our stores.
Love this! Just subbed.

So glad you like it! And glad you were able to convince your exterminator to use a live trap! Thanks for letting me know!

Did the mouse return to your garage?
Looks like a good idea; one, question: how long was the mouse in the trap?
Seems like over night and looks like early morning outside. 🤷♀️
Answered 8 years later 😂
i have never had mice in my house but i have chipmunk pests and there the size of a mouse so i was hoping to use the link and get the mice cube.
It would appear so, but since you are, I'm glad you watched mine. Feel free to check out my others :)

+flamegirl181 Sounds like a smart mouse, you'll have to keep searching for a trap that it can't outsmart!
Try pick it up from the tail with tounges
+flamegirl181 I have had several really smart mice. The homemade kiwi mouse trap I found on youtube has worked for the smart ones. I have this trap too but they won't go in it.
gees so many reviews, how many mice do you have in your home?
I have a link to it on Amazon in the video description :)
Well if you're thinking of getting a trap, check out the link in the video description :)
will the tail ever get stuck in the spring trap?
My son asked me if you're going to eat it.
lmao
i use 1 piece of popcorn to catch them in a chipmunk live trap works great !
You seem to have a steady supply of mice to test your traps on:-)
Where do you buy all your mouse traps?
Probably, but I've never tried. In a couple weeks I will be reviewing a chipmunk trap.
You can't really make this one, but you can order it on Amazon. I put the link in the description :)
Can you please let me know where I have to place bait.
I placed it on the far end of the pastic base and it escaped with the bait.
Please help.
Please help me. What trap should I use for a small mouse that might have head trauma. I alreadt mentioned this mouse once before but we need this mouse out please responed asap.
This Mouse Trap Seems Pretty Cool
Yes, sometimes traps that work fine on one mouse won't work on another. Better luck with this one!
I like you ... for being so nice to nature ..thumbs up from me .
I Know
Looks good for mice such as that field mouse but real rats? I don't see that happening.
Amazon. I post links to them all in the video description.
what if your mouse has babys? they keep me awake all night
I thought the door was going to pinch the mouses tail when it walked in.
Do they sell these in England
I thought the mouse got its tail trapped :( I love mice and its good that you keep the mice alive :)
Don't worry, their tails don't get stuck. Even if the door pinched him it wouldn't harm him.
I low how out of camera he just tosses the mouse so it goes into the trap so it looks realXD

Any place that sells live capture traps that I can get immediately? I don't have time to order online. Thanks!

Glad you think so :) Thanks for the comment, and feel free to sub for more mouse videos! I have more coming that are even better :)
death by peanut butter? thats hilarious.
What if the door snaps shut on the mouse's tail?
I killed almost 100 large rats in my factory. It uses a sheet of plywood, cotter pin, string.
These are large rats and very clever. They do not go onto regular victory traps, glue trays.
I'm sorry I find death by peanut butter really funny
Shut Up
Yeah, I felt a bit sorry for him too... but then it's better than him getting snapped, or choking on the peanut-butter!
HOW CAN I GET ONE OF THIS MM
Nice trap, almost thought it would chop the tail off though...
If you go to my channel, I have another video that tests that question: Can it chop tails off?
Alright, thank you!
Good treatment.
Not as many as I used to :)
No, although that would be fun. I live in the US.
I want that I have mice in my pantry should I use that
Yep, that's the kind :)
That mouse later died. Reason of death, running for cover when owl was chasing him(the mouse was safer indoors)
I have been watching ur vids since I was 6 4 some reason
The first time I used the trap that uses the mouse's body weight to catch it, we put cheese in, the clever little mouse ate the cheese, had a little pee and ran out! that trap is perfect for those clever types!

It Looks Like Your The Only Nice Person In This Comment Section!
do you live in england?
Did you kill it? 😰
No, it's wild.
Awesome!!!
There's never a need to kill any mouse in today's modern days!
is this your pet moue? because it looks the same
You certainly could :)
Thanks :)
What happens if the mouse jumps on the camera and it dumps over haha
am i seriously going through mouse trap videos on youtube right now...
Good job
Kool!Creative!
They need to put a door on the top so that the mice fall in because sometimes the mice climb on top of the trap...
Soo, we out here catching mice nd then hoping they dnt choke on the bait?? Im confusion
When you live in the country, there are always lots of mice....
guy always got a mouse
Mouse traps? Don't you mean Cats?
I like it that you dont kill it
Lol that's kinda funny how it reacts.
thanks. after watching vid, this will be the one I buy to evict my mouse. :)
